For the first part: you should use Asc bolts. Your Chaotic Xbow can still use the bolts, but it will only inflict as much damage as royal bolts. For the second part: last time I tried it, Dragonbane is very good at QBD (it basically makes you hit QBD all the time), however your off hand should ideally be either Attuned Crystal Chakram or Death Lotus Darts if you have access to either if you use abilities. Otherwise Chaotic is good for off hand if you go legacy

I have been trying to play season 3, but unfortunately no matter how hard I actually try, I simply cannot get into melee at all. So many monsters run away from you that it completely kills (no pun intended) any of the rush I would have from using melee. It's fun leaping into a massive pack and whirlwinding them into submission, it is NOT fun however to chase down the Morlu Incinerators and Fallen Shamans after you chase a goblin down half way across the map. Also WW barbs seems to have major issues with single target DPS. Granted I am still running around in yellows only and haven't gotten much in the way of gear, I am already bored and annoyed of it that I made a WD and is playing that instead lol. But yeah, didn't manage to get into monk in Season 2, have difficulty trying to get into Barb this season, if I play crusader next, it will probably be blessed hammer build. I absolutely hate chasing monsters.

Last time anyone was crazy over dragon weapons was when Legacy mode was released, when Dragon Claws spiked due to the 'return' of the spec, However it faded very quickly as they realised that Dragon weapon stats are absolutely trash, making the spec utterly useless on that weapon. I do agree overrides, despite a lot of controversy behind it, is a blessing in disguish. Drygores and Noxious weapons are, IMO, absolutely hideous to look at.

Managed to score Shadows of Mordor for 66% off the base game and the season pass from steam. The base game and the season pass are both 50% off now, but the combo is 66% off (basically making the season pass 50c if you buy the base game as well). Figured I'd grab it as it would be a while before I can avail of the game at any better price.

Well lots have changed in EoC, basically, a general rule of thumb is that the usefulness of the weapon is determined solely by its level (with a few exceptions, such as say a shieldbow). Its special attack, if any, is no longer a relevant thing because the special attacks are tied to the weapon stats. For example, in terms of pure damage, a pair of drygores will do 50% more damage than a dragon halberd, or even a pair of claws, no special attack, no matter how powerful, is going to remedy that. I haven't even taken accuracy into account of that comparison, which makes higher tier weapons even higher still above a lower tier weapon. IE, old tier weapons, once you get higher tier, no longer have any practical use in EoC.

So a basically a model of pay for the modes you want rather than pay for half of a game and the other half in DLCs.. I would have prefered the term 'modularised' rather than 'unfinished', though what he is describing is really heavily dependent on how it is implemented and the game in question. I personally would love a cheaper version of the game with the multiplayer removed, as that part in any game are stuff I generally avoid. EG I would gladly shave off $10 or so off GTA V if it means no multiplayer.

It's pretty hard to actually get to use ultimates in melee. With dual wield, a mix between Destroy, Assault and Slaughter, I never really come close to using any ultimates, same with Ranged, not so much with magic due to detonate being actively bad.

As a general rule of thumb, the power of the weapon is dictated by its level, not by the numbers it shows on the mouse over text. For example, your Dragon Baxe will do the same overall damage as any other dragon or level 60 weapons, they just do more damage per hit, but less times, the dps remains the same. Thus, you are always better off going for a higher level weapon. The most powerful non-degradeable 1h melee weapon in the game is Korasi's sword and Abyssal vine whip, with Korasi's being a little better due to its inate crit chance. Jessika's sword is the most powerful in the off hand, but that sword is far more tedious to get. The best alternative is Enhanced Excalibur which you can get from completing Hard (not elite) seer's task. Also, don't use shields, the gimp your damage by 33% compared to say 2h or dual wield.

The way I have it is: 6 of each M/C/S, 4 Terracotta Merchant, 3 Kharidian Exiles Totems I currently have them set at 4 Map Tables, clues are hard enough to get already, wanted to make sure those succeed (particularly the Memory's Clues, as completing her clue voyages will unlock her special voyages that wipes captain's traits).

I am not sure what char I want to play next season, been playing with DH in this one, and had too much fun with it. leveled a season monk, and due to a multitude of me sucking at it, and that I don't like being in melee in D3, pretty much rules that class out the window. Already played a wizard last season, probably going to try Crusader but playing with ranged skills.

Not worth it, 100 plates is easily worth 2~3 times the BASE repair cost if you make Tetsu platelegs and sell them (this ups to 4~6 times with 99 smithing). I'd see them being much more useful as spares. if you don't want spare katanas there is no point in doing the voyage at all. Also, the off hand Katana (Wakizashi) is definitely 15000 smithing and 2500 crafting XP. I gained 18000 xp and 3000 crafting xp while making it, and that is after 20% boost from the top workshop. Also, for your info, the 20% boost stacks with Bonus XP. My crafting bonus xp was decreased by 3000, leaving a net gain of 24,000 xp in total.

At least according to the ingame make-x interface, it states that for the Makigai it's 15k RC and 2500 Crafting XP awarded. Unfortunately my gemstone voyage failed so I cannot verify it at this time.

He probably means Superheating the ores when buying all of the raw materials. Also Rune isn't terribly hard to get due to the existence of Harmonised Runite rocks (AKA Harmed ore, or Happy hour). My way to make money is, ironically, not deliberately making money. My money making are mostly passive things like Ports (Ancient bones are absolute beast right now), daily battlestaves/broad arrowheads/Wax. The only real 'unconventional' money maker I have is Making mature greenman's ale. I lucked out with a couple of games of TB, and especialy when the grouping system was released, I squeezed as many games I could. I have enough Po8's to last me for several months.

Hey all, Does crystal tools affect golden rock rate when using a skill that is related to the tool you are using, but does not actually use the tool? For example, let's say I have Crystal Chisel, will that affect rate of strange rocks when I craft, say, Potion flasks? Thanks

Started Wolfenstein New World Order. The nolstalgia of the first few levels is DEFINITELY there (you can even see a certain shadow of the old dos version of the assault rifle), but what I do like most about the game is that unlike most SP shooters where the story line almost happens exclusively between cutscenes or completing a certain mission objective and receiving orders/sitrep etc, this one actually continuously whispers your characters thoughts throughout, which is a bit more interesting because most of other time there is usually nothing between cutscenes/objectives besides shooting and looting. Still continuing on FFXIII, if anyone bought the steam version, and isn't using GeDoSaTo, Square Enix announced a fix coming in December that would add resolution and video options to the game (which basically fixed the only major flaw with this PC port). Compared to other PC ports, this one isn't done too bad, I was able to get playable frame rates when downsampled from 4k resolution using GeDoSaTo using only a GTX 570, which (at least to me) is quite impressive given the visual fidelity of the game.

Maybe it was the updates since 2.1, but my new account on Asia server has just passed Paragon 60, yet my main char is probably better geared than my level 270 paragon on European server. I thought seasonal was a good excuse to finally move my Diablo 3 server from EU to Asia, probably won't be able to play in 250+ ping ever again lol.

Just started playing FFXIII on PC, while the frame rates are buggy (from what i have heard, it's a game engine problem) and problems with cutscenes rendering in different resolutions (could be in 1960x1080, then 320x240 in the next lol), i am surprised at how smoothly it runs for that kind of graphics... feels like i have been missing out a lot between this and FFVI...
