Weapons, Speed, Damage and Abilities
No, the exact opposite, it seems slower weapons are better, at least from abilities point of view, the difference is marginal (not more than 1% between best and worst), but the difference is big enough that Fast weapons are better than Fastest, especially if you have + damage gear. The difference is small enough to be ignored, but efficiencists will probably take note. Auto attacks remain the same, faster weapons are better.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Well, i guess it's true if you do bone/spice missions with a merchant(or at all), but other than that, it's very rare for you to get enough long voyages to justify 3 merchants- i'd rather have the flexibility that the extra crewmemebers offer(particularly for when you have one or more scroll missions going). After all the scrolls though, it'd probably be a good idea to put the merchants back at 3 again.

Maxing Port Score - The Final Push
Q, is that the first known Port maxer? Also are there any one else close? Thanks

Weapons, Speed, Damage and Abilities
Your calculation is sound, that is exactly what I had assumed before I actually went out and tested them, that is when it all fell apart. So far this is what I have determined why fast and average speed weapons deal the damage they do. Let's look at Dragon longsword: 1. If strength was taken into account AFTER they normalise, then it's doing too low: (735 * 2.4/3) + 99 = 687 2. If strength was taken int account BEFORE they normalise, then it's doing too high: (735 + 99) * 2.4/3 = 667.2 It is, bizzarely, doing the exactly the average of both calculations With Dragon Battleaxe: 1. Strength after normalise: (894 * 2.4/3.6) + 99 = 695 2. Strength before normalise: (894 + 99) * 2.4/3.6 = 662 The middle value of these is 678.5, rounded gives 679, which is 1 away from the 680 damage shown. So if my conclusions are correct, the ability damage is the average of the damage calculated from both ways. It seems a bit coincidental, to me, that the real damage is pretty much right in the middle of the two calculations. However, the above does not remotely explain why fast speed weapons benefit from + damage more than Fastest (explainable) AND average (not explainable) Perhaps someone could shed some light on the exact mechanism? The reason why this mechanism exists I can only speculate, but probably an attempt by Jagex to balance the fast weapons VS slow ones. Because, if you put the strength inside the brackets, Fast weapons win at 99 strength, because their strength isn't normalised. If you put strength outside of the brackets, Slow weapons win at 99 strength, because of their inherently higher damage. Why not just make all weapons with the same dps pre-strength? Because slow weapons then becomes worse than fast weapons for auto attacks (they get 99 damage per attack, so faster weapons benefit more) Again, only my theory PS. My apologies for the lack of updates, RL has somewhat entangled with my testing. Also, from my recent testing: 1. Dark bow does not remotely do enough ability damage compared to its tier. It is vastly outdamaged by Seercull with Broad arrows (something like 2:3). 2. The damage from EE is "real", as in it does indeed deal damage based on its description, hence the "Just compare its tier" is only a generalisation, it does not apply to EE, Brackish Blade or skilling tool weapons such as pickaxes and hatchets.

EoC question
It isn't, slower weapons do more damage than faster weapons. This would suggest that strength and other bonuses are applied AFTER they normalise the weapons, rather than before. But, I found something that was very inconsistent, Fast weapons strangely benefits more from + damage gear than either Fastest or Average (both of the latter match, fast receives 2 extra point of damage for some reason).

Maxing Port Score - The Final Push
Didn't roll a Scroll or Ad rerolls today :(. Maybe better luck tomorrow. Got all the resources I need for the building and ship upgrades now, will post again when I send out my 77th scroll

EoC question
I made a post in Data and Research section, where I compared different weapons's ability crits with each other. Ability crits are always that ability's maximum hit, so it is a perfect indicator of how much damage something does. If the speed of the weapon was not taken into account, then basically everything under the sun that isn't the slowest speed would automatically suck, for example, Maul would do more damage than dual Drygore Weapons because Maul is average speed and Drygores are fast at best.

HTML5 beta discussion
There is still EoC problems they need to correct, but after that, I fully agree. Especially considering this is a browser game.

Maxing Port Score - The Final Push
Well, for those whom I have talked to in game, you know how I said I don't want max port score right? Well, since I am now established hypocrit (not horse-crit this time Q :P), I am aiming for max port score, which according to Wikia, is 2205. Hopefully I'd be one of the first to achieve it :P Today's progress, 76th scroll, so I am now down to the very last scrimshaw plans. I have had at least 1 scroll everyday during the past 4 days or so, so I am picking up speed again. Here are my latest updates: I have not yet maxed out my ship parts and building upgrades just yet, I don't want to get them until I get my 80th scroll, then going from 2135 to 2205 in an instant :P I am missing 2 buildings and 6 jade ship parts (basically all parts barring 1 hull and rudder). I skipped them while I was in bowl. Edit: Did anyone notice the gap in the armor scrolls? i wonder what those are for...

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I started doing them since practically arc region, so far I only know I skipped 3 and failed 6, so give or take, I missed about 10 scrolls to date. I was averaging 1 scroll mission every 2 days, and add adventurer rerolls on top of that. I never expect I'd get that many scrolls to be honest, as I was saying, I skipped very few of them (I even chose them over trios before, then I decided it was a bad idea, given how hard it is to get trios to come up). As a consequence though, I STILL haven't finished my PoP armors (i still need more than 50 trade good for the complete sets)

Boston Marathon Murders
Of course, the word 'essential' here is vastly open to interpretation. I doubt the word "they" in that sentence encompasses the entire Irish population Draz, more like they as in the perpentrators, IRA had a history in NI and made world news around, if the culprits were indeed found to be Irish, then people would think the guys who did it were probably IRA. Which is vastly different than to think all irish are a part of IRA. If they think all of the bombings were IRA without being proven it was done by the irish, thats a different story.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I am not saying it is either. I fully recognise the superiority of Torva over Tetsu (I would be lying if I said i don't want a set of Torva at all, it's just "not at this price" :P) Anyway, back on PoP topic, 74th scroll, sent out for 75th scroll today (freaking painful choosing it over 10 lacquer joint mission lol). Just gathering the jade and slates I need for the last ship and building upgrades... at then.... PS. I knew there was something wrong with that hippocrit lol

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Correct Q, what I am about to say would make me sound very much like a hippocrit: When it comes to Minigames like PoP, if it offers things that are exclusive to that minigame, then I aim for that exclusive. Since I have alternative ways to get other non-exclusives items. For PoP, exclusives would be Armors and Scrimshaws, and Non-exclusives would be XP voyages and Cash i get from making the tradeables and then selling them. The thing about that 120M figure is that, yes, Selling it would benefit my bank, it won't allow me to do things I couldn't do, since I don't have enough money, either selling or not, to get Torva armor (I may be able to get 2-3 pieces, but not with the 120m alone). The main difference between me getting a Tetsu and a set of Torva, with the current amount of bank worth, is either I have a set of T85 armor that I can boss with, as well as have money to do other things if I don't feel like combat, or, I can buy Torva and be completely broke (If i sold the Tetsu, I could only still barely afford Torva), and cannot do anything else while I own the Torva. Yes, I could sell it when I am not using it, and buy it back when I want to. After my experience with GE 'borrowing', I have pretty given up juggling gear around my GE and my bank.
