To my surprise, BOTH trio voyages came back successful, so now I have 137 bones and 95 Chi (5 shy of chest ._.). Still, I am one happy camper, now trying to go after the other set of trio.
-
A lot of the cave (and ESPECIALLY Kiln) monsters are still not balanced properly for EoC, so as a result, the only thing that is capable of hurting is Jad, Dill and Har-Aken, the rest just roll over and die. Cauldron on the other hand...
-
Already have a pair of legs though :P

sent out the 50 chi/50 bones trio voyage today with FoTS, and burnt every stat booster i had that would make a difference, ended up with 79%. Guess tomorrow morning is judgement day. I'll have enough for Sea singer chest if it succeeds, but tempted to get hood first, seems like a better upgrade

What is a good monster to hunt for cash with welfare gear
chenw replied to brad1431's topic in Help and Advice
The best armor for it, Obsidian Armor, is free except time element involved but the time required to get it (especially compared to number of kilns it lasts for) is, in my opinion, better than any other armor option for the purpose of Kiln. The supplies used there are extremely minimal, healing or even BoB farmiliars are not necessary, Regenerate and the Crystals are more than sufficient to you keep you alive (even Guthix's blessing is very seldomly used). It is possible get by the kiln with a few sharks and 1 single prayer potion. -
I think I am way behind on my trade goods, the game just refuses to let me suceed on trio stories (I failed 2 out of 4 attempts so far) or even trade good special voyages... 61 scrolls now, 19 more to go.

Kiln is pretty good for cash too, 1 onyx every hour (can squeeze that down to 45-50 mins), give or take. You don't really need expensive gear for it either, since the best armor is available for free, and a single set last for a LONG time (20+ kilns at least, and that is a low estimate, more like 25 usually). The time I got was using Royal Crossbow and Chaotic Claw as my most expensive weapons. The monotony of the kiln might put people off though (because every kiln is more identical to each other than QBD) -
thank god i am not the only one to think that... Do PoP armor insta break when dropped?
-
50k for 4k charges indeed, but kiln really do eat those charges (i average at 1100 charges per kiln)
-
Unfortunately I both do not have Elite Diary, and I am currently burning through them at an alarming rate (probably 1 recharge on weekdays and 2-3 on weekends). I am getting tempted to simply not use Zo Ring for that purpose
-
Hey all Do Zo ring's effect stack with Void? And is the best way to get tokkuls (mainly to recharge zo rings with) be killing TzHaar? Thanks

IF you are melee'ing, fire cape is marginally better, otherwise, especially in places where you'll be switching weapons often, 99 capes are better.

A word of mouth has it that there is someone out there with only 1 full scroll (or 4 scroll pieces) left to get to complete the entire scroll collection, no proof of it. Currentlt at 58, i left out a few scrolls over some trios recently, i decided that trio stories were more valuable than scrolls so i went after them

18-March-2013: Dealing with games of chance
chenw replied to Unknown_Warrior's topic in General Discussion
Basically, his ideology basically is, if one Artist does it for next to nothing, then he treats it as if every other artist is doing the same (let us not get into whether this is for the greater good of the art or the good of his wallet), and that if one copies an exact replica of your neighbour's car, then can it be treated as theft? Or is paying for 1's and 0's justified? I think someone completely missing on the idea of both Intellectual property (either he does not accept such thing is a property, or he has no grasp of the concept), and paying someone of their work in DESIGNING the thing. -

Thats no more different than claiming ownership of anything, since everything in the universe are ultimately made up from Electrons, Protons and Neutrons, just arranged in different ways. When you replicate your Neighbour's Ferrari, you are not stealing her car, you are stealing Ferrari's IP, which is completely different from stealing the car itself. Computer programs being 1's and 0's has no bearing on what Intellectual property is. They either all stand together, or they all fall together. The medium is of absolutely no importance. -
Verac for melee, Ahrim or Ganodermic for magic, Royal D'hide or Karil for ranged. You can use GWD armor sets instead if you have the cash (only the chest pieces comes with bonus damage, the other parts are just undegradeable equivalents to barrows).
-
Yes, eliting it only gives a better healing, the stats remain the same, and with Abilities, while off hand damage is taken into account, the off hand never hits, making its healing effect largely redundant.

In case anyone cares, the obsidian armor now only degrades when you are receiving red splats. it doesn't degrade at all on the blue splats. -
The bottom row effects can only be applied once per ship, I dont think there is a limit to the top row other than limited to what you have.
-
You do not need the elite diary completed to get the EE, only completing Hard diary is required. Elite diary only boosts its healing.
-
No, if you are dual wielding, I suggest going for Main hand Chaotic Claw and EE. Main Hand claw because when you make the claw, you have it 100% durability rather than 20% of every other weapon, so it already pretty much pays for itself. Mainhand claw also have Crit that makes it better than CR. Even better, claw has fastest attack speed (CR has fast) so it's again better to use with momentum. EE is the second best off hand melee weapon in the game right now, and it doesn't take much to get it (it only requires Hard seer's task).

Obsidian Armor, since that armor protects against both Magic and Ranged pretty well, failing that, I'd say ranged (and ranging him of course), since Magic armor is weak against his ranged attack, at least Ranged armor won't be so weak against. But frankly I don't think it matters anymore, since his attacks are very accurate.
-
More accurate yes, but that generally only matters at end content (like Glacors, QBD, GWD etc), so unless you are going to be doing a lot of those, the extra accuracy won't be beneficial to you, and thus using the staff is only increasing your maintainence cost. If you have plans to boss, then by all means get one, but I wouldn't use it until I get to that point, because there isn't anything (at least not the ones I am aware off) that requires or warrants the use of Chaotic staff.
-
Erm... the last I have heard, Ganodermic and Pray ranged doesn't work anymore (Ganodermic doesn't have the soaking that it was known for, and that made the pray ranged soak magic attack work).
-
I'd try using MTK to get the herbs and train with those herbs. Your stats are good enough for Jad, it's just the matter of gear. Stats play a rather minor role in EoC besides determining what gear you are capable of using, so your is a bigger question. From my experience with Jad, you should be prepared for him before you kill your last Ket Zek (the second one in the dual ket zek wave). A good place I have found is to start on the north western corner and wait until Jad either starts attacking or (if the spawn location is good) stuck somewhere. But you should be in position before you kill the last Ket zek. Oh, and switch your sound on, and switch on protect/deflect ranged when you start.
