In the latest quest, which side did you pick, and why? I picked Zarosian, as I am leaned towards his ideologies, and at least, his followers are being reasonable, but that also...

I have a theory that the chance of getting a random is based on how many randoms you have done for that day. IE it is relatively easy to get multiple randoms if you didn't do them, but once you do it for that day, the chance of random drops drastically, if not becoming impossible.

Karils cannot fire anything besides Bolt Racks I thought? Also, I'd not get dragon x bow, Emerald bolts is just about the only thing you can fire from them, ruby, diamond and royal bolts all cannot be fired from a Dragon Crossbow.

Good luck getting out of it (both out of skyrim and clearing the backlog, especially the latter. Once that backlog starts forming, it won't get shorter :P)

Just made Sup Death Lotus Hood and Sup Tetsu helms today, 49 scrolls too atm. I have to admit, stainless steel is quite slow to get, over a week in and i still only have 1 crew and 1 hull upgraded.

Depends on where, but in most locations, the one who tags that monster (ie who ever attacks it first) gets the experience, any other player in that zone do not. Boss zones are an exception. Btw, in case you didn't know, nearly all of RS is multicombat now

Upgrading crew is higher priority against upgrading port, especially in pincers, since most of the 'upgrades' there are not actually upgrades (more like sidegrades, and in some cases downgrades). Basically if it helps you succeed more voyages, its more important than the ones that don't

Yes, Judge is a pure upgrade from Bureaucrat. aim for 2-3, 2 is definitely recommended, 3rd one at your discretion. Once you unlock your 4th ship, get a 3rd merchant there too.

I assume you are hitting Bowl (the jade region) rather than Pincers (Stainless steel region)? I'd probably get at least two bureaucrats, but since you are nearly in Bowl anyway, you can probably get away with waiting until Bowl and get Judge then (but you have to unlock it too). I'd also ditch one of each Morale and Seafaring crew and add two witches, ditch a combat one for another merchant (merchants are probably the best single crew member for their effects, their bonus to rewards often far outweigh the decrease in stats.)

Out of curiosity, what "thing" are you talking about specifically? Let's put it this way, there is something present in the year 2007 that is not present in 2013, and it is not the version of Runescape. I am starting to believe that when people want the old times back, they don't actually want the game itself, but they want the thing that made the game fun back in 2007, which isn't there anymore in 2013. Think hard, it's quite obvious what I am talking about. I'd say if I had to think hard, then it's not obvious. But my guess is that no matter what Jagex does the community won't be back. Even though the community isn't back as it was, and it won't be - it's still interesting to see the community which is appearing now. I think the fact that we need more player interactions for trading, and stuff like creating rune running communities etc. will improve the community, at least to some extent. Given the direction of online gaming community, I have resigned myself that the 2000's are a thing of the past, and wanting to have it back is nothing but a delusion.

Unless they updated the difficulty of the kiln recently, I did kiln without very much trouble at all. If you can reliably get through TokHaar-Jad without missing more than 1 prayer, then kiln should be relatively easy. As Q said, Dills is going to hurt a lot, Dreadnips are definitely a good thing to have, failing that, Dragon Pickaxe. And remember, DO NOT use ANY prayers on Dill, or else you are going to get hurt, a LOT (his special hits straight through prayer and does it more often than not if you use it). It was easy to the point where the only failures I had in the kiln post EoC was accidentally teleporting out of there (long story), otherwise I had no sweat. Didn't even need to pray most of the time (but this was pre-regenerate nerf, post you might need to SS every now and then, or else use crystals more often). Oh, I'd probably use Black Salamander if you have it instead of C Bow, the mage guys (including the ket-zek) are all weak to bolts in Kiln. Ancients are pretty useful as well.

Right, But I am not one of those EoCscape supporters (in fact I have many problems against it), but I will not be playing the old RS, because, frankly, the very thing that made the game fun is gone, and will never ever come back, no matter what Jagex does. Runescape in 2007 is indeed a better game than RS now, but a 2007 version of RS is far away from being better than RS now (in fact I think it's a LOT worse, none of the perks and all of the problems). Edit. in short: I'd do anything to get back to year 2007 and play runescape, but that is a VERY VERY different matter than just playing 2007 version of Runescape.

You missed two minor groups: 1. The group who never played the game, but wanted to jump on the band wagon anyway because they hate EoC (or change, depending on the person) 2. The oldies who grew up on the game, but fiercely opposes its return.

My apologies for hijacking, but is there a reason to use Havoc over Decimate? It would seem to me that Decimate is at least equal to Havoc in most cases, and better in cases where the enemy is wielding a shield.

Bumping this old thread of mine, the method outlined in this thread was found to not work only in 2008, so it should still work, theoretically, for the 2007 server.

Yep, but I think I let them go to waste, since I honestly didn't need any more captains (I have 5 10k captains). I might use them again once I find out what trait missions Pincer has on offer and if they are worth the effort to change them

I don't think so, at the moment trade good voyages are rare! I got my 20th scroll now =D 16 to go =3 then I'll see what I'll choose of the scrimshaws! Yes, but that won't change the fact that somewhere down the line, you will only ever go after trade goods anyway and you won't even care about any other resources because you simply don't need them. On a side note, in case no one knew, the max amount of Life boat you can hold onto, unused, is 1. I had a random earlier this morning and got a life boat, only to get the dreaded "You are holding the maximum number of...." message. Glasses and FotS are still at 3 though. <showoff> With anyluck I should complete my Vampyrism scrimshaw today, and leaving me with 36 scrolls left to get (8 scrimshaws and the soup), probably will go after the mage random elemental damage scrimshaw next, unless someone has better suggestions? :P </showoff>
