  2. Don't you have to kill the kalphite queen for that? [/hide] The Pest Queen is in set 3 iirc. I did say Kalphite queen in my earlier post, and pest queen came out of nowhere.

  8. Might have to do with the fact that it's a lot more common to send out a voyage in the 80+ range. I'm not sure if players usually settle for 60%. I routinely send my ships on voyages that is roughly 60%, especially for scroll missions, and I have failed far less than the percentage dictates (19 scrolls obtained so far, and only 2 fails, one of the fail was actually an 80%). I have not failed a single 60% scroll voyage in the past 2 weeks. I did however fail some of the normal voyages that were 60%, but again, the success rate i have been getting has been higher.
  9. He claimed it was 80%'s, which as far as I am aware of, is the range which is notorious for absurdly high failure rate. I have heard of more failures in this range than in the 60's, which is roughly the same as what I am experiencing.
  10. Don't lifeboats only remain until they're used to save one of your crew members and then disappear? Yeah but it's harder to kill your crew than you would think. on the contrary I have seen people losing several crew members within a few days.
  11. I went for the Seasinger robes scroll first because Magic is definitely my favourite form of combat (this is regardless of damage or effectiveness, I usually play as a magey type class for most MMORPG's), but I half way I went and completed the Gem-Mining scrimshaw because I am interested in seeing how effective it would be. Focusing on Tetsu now, and I am rather happy now there are red on the Samurai armor, pity I can't plaint it with black decoration, then I would probably wear it and never take it off lol.

    I gave up on combat.

T80 to T90 upgrade is more like 1.125*1.125 (accuracy and damage multiplied together), which is 1.265625, which is over 26.5% Improvement. Some MMOs I know have improvements that number in single digit %'s and those multiplied give the larger boost overall, 12.5% for a single item is already very large by that standard.

Yeah, but thats assuming the chance to hit interacts with armor in a linear fashion, not an exponential one. I'll pick an example to clarify what I mean: suppose that in a case of combat, I have 100 accuracy, and you have 150 armor, and to simplify calculations, assume that my overall chance to hit is accuracy divided by armor. In my case 66.67% Now, we have armor and accuracy scaling, I square all of my accuracy and armor and divide by 10 My new accuracy would be 1000, your new armor 2250. Using the same rudimentary calculation, my CTH is 44.44%, but that is assuming my CTH calculation remains the same as before. What if the new calculation were changed to Square root(accuracy *10)/sqrt(armor*10)? We would yield exactly the same result as before, 66.67% chance to hit, despite the fact that my accuracy and your armor's difference have been dragged apart even further than before. If what you said was true, lower tiers got nerfed, then it doesn't help its cause, not one bit. In fact it will simply make sure those who play casually can never EVER access high level content on ghetto gear (since ghetto gear is now what used to be standard gear), due to the fact that they can't get high level gear without having to perform some boss hunting feat (it is easier said than done for a lot of people), or pay through their noses for one.

The way they did with the armor values are, in my opinion, one of the following: 1. Numbers game. The armor values go on exponential, and so do accuracy. In the end, the net result is the same, except with a few bugs that made some monsters too hard to hit. The change are there only to satisfy the egotistical and changes absolutely nothing. They spent development time to just make a line fit a curve... 2. They changed the actual effectiveness of the armors, with one of the tiers being the 'standard' set (IE it is the same before or after), which has the effect of making everything below the standard worse than before, and everything above it better, and makes the gear inequality worse than before. I would be inclined to believe they did the first option.
  15. The only way I can think of is force a full screen in a low resolution setting. (something like 800x600)? It might make your eyes bleed though
  16. I prefer this system over systems where your opponent have a chance to loot your stuff when you die by their hands. That's like snatching your purse then charge you to get it back...
  17. Lacquer definitely seem to be 'rarer' than plate or chi, but I don't think there is a way. I am only starting to collect Tetsu scrolls now since I have completed all of sea singer scrolls, but I feel I got more plates before i completed them than after...
  18. That would imply logic, which we all know, Jagex are not usually known for (and sometimes, known for total lack thereof)
  19. Cast Ice Barrage on the flying form of the Kalphite queen while wielding a Keris++ and under the effects of Summer Squ'irk juice.
  20. Taken directly from Jagex RS Wiki: Life Boat: An effect that can be used to protect your crew from death. While it is only applied to a single ship, the effect is permanent. However, if a crew mate dies on a voyage, the effect is removed. Fortune of the Seas: An effect that can be used to boost your rewards (or penalties) by 10%. While it is only applied to a single ship, the effect is permanent. Rose-Tinted spectacles: An effect that can be used to boost your crew's XP gain by 50%. While it is only applied to a single ship, the effect is permanent. The most ambiguous one of the lot is life boat, which I highly suspect that if a crew dies on a boat besides the one with life boat, life boat self destructs, which makes no sense...
  21. Feel free to correct me--I haven't checked any metagaming forums in a while--but I haven't seen any so-called "metagamer" worth their salt actually say that. Dual weapons have less overkill and higher crit chance than 2h weapons. That's why they're better than 2hs with momentum. I've said that a lot so I guess I must not be worth my salt. I wonder where people get the idea of 'Higher crit chance when dual wielding' from, when you have the same amount of crit chance between two weapons, wouldn't it, on average, have the same % of critical hits (IE the % dps increase due to the the critical stikes should be the same)? Sure, the greater number of hits, the less deviation from the average (and the greater NUMBER of critical hits), but I still do not understand why people say dual wield is better at triggering critical hits when their average is the same... Also, from the posts, everybody have been comparing abilities with abilities and momentum with momentum, are there any solid data of comparing abilities to momentum? I don't think I have seen any statements stating which is better... (I am inclined to think that, given similar circumstances, 2h abilities will win against DW momentum for the same tier at least due the total lack of aoe abilities with dual wield, and thus slowing kills in places where enemies tend to be clumped together)
  22. Is it just me or is trimmed 99 capes ridiculously overpowered compared to other capes like TokHaar-kal?
  23. Unless they upgraded the damage from the worms, when I did it I completely ignored the worms until they started to block my movements (that usually happens when there are more than about 3 worms, granted I was using soul split, so it might not apply to you). Also, I have personally found that trying to go for the hole in her firewalls usually resulted in more damage taken from the firewalls, because you get hit multiple times when running sideways if you miss the hole, something that happens to me more often than I like to. I then went and tried running straight INTO the firewall unless the hole is 3 squares or less away, that way you only take 1 hit, sometimes none at all. I also keep scattering shot/chain exclusively for the purple ghost.
  24. I am inclined to believe that T75 2h'ers with the correct style is better than T80 wrong style, if the maul is indeed superior, it is probably very marginal at best.
