Autumn Girl Rustle of the leaves and sound of the breeze A cold wind blows while the sun warms my face Lost within my world Searching for my Autumn girl Living off my memories a year at a time Seeing the leaves change colour within your eyes Smile so perfect it drives me insane Lips as soft as an evening rain Lost within my world Searching for my Autumn girl The world is a blanket of falling leaves But none have fallen harder than me Your kiss of frost placed upon the land To claim it yours, please take my hand Lost within my world Searching for my Autumn girl I know seasons can't stay always and forever But know that when I'm with you I see no other Wishing you'd return sooner, every time you go Putting up with other seasons is harder than you know Lost within my world Searching for my Autumn girl Try to pull you from that cycle of time To keep you here and make you mine With you I'm no longer lost; found my reason Autumn girl; You are my favourite season --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wrote this as a birthday present to my girlfriend (Oct 29th). This is the first poem that I've written for her, so nothing seems good enough, but I've decided it's better if I move onto another rather than worrying about the first one. The poem basically relates her to our favourite season, and how after being single for so long, I've decided to try relationships again. "Seeing the leaves change colour within your eyes" - is actually written after noticing one of her green eyes actually have a brownish orange coloured corner.
