  1. This really disappoints me. They make a good agility course. Then it seems to good because you can get range and strength experience. Instead of nerving the range/strength experience, which in my opinion is too much, (25k per hour for doing another skill) they nerf the agility experience. Good job JaGEx -.-
  2. I agree. While being a decent guide for people who have never heard of this, it's hardly in-dept. Besides, I believe all information in your guide is in the main sites guide. Another thing is that 7.5M won't last 100 days. It'll last 90. Then you'll have 750k and only 10% will be taken out, which you don't mention at all. The formula is not points * 5k. 10% of the total will be taken out with a maximum of 75k.
  3. The statistical term would be with 8 successes, but that's not very clear for this guide. You could say something like: 8 scrolls were gained in x kills, which gives a probability of one in ... kills.
  4. Nice guide, good layout, and well-written. Just one small remark: You don't call 8 scrolls the sample size. The sample size is 3202*8=25616 This is because killing the imp is an experiment (sample), which results in success (scroll) or failure (another drop). The same goes for your bit about the hill giants.
  5. Well, you should do what you feel most comfortable with. However, my sheet gives the best mathematical option (which I personally trust more than my gut  ).
  6. Yes, you are. However, at the moment, the difference is really small and it could be that maples yield less than flax. However, the chance is a little bit bigger that maples yield more.
  7. Thank you! I've now updated the sheets with direct webqueries, which draw the prices out of the GE database in one go and work with Google Docs. Therefore, I won't have to update the sheets anymore, so they should always be accurate.
  8. Thanks a lot! I was kinda looking for this and I've now updated my MTK sheets with this method of drawing prices out. Now, I've got one question: how often does this update? Every 24 hours, or every time someone opens it?
  9. Why they won't release it? How about the massive amount of quitting people who realise how much time they've spent on a game?
  10. 50000/40=1250 Everyone who has their workers on flax for 100% brings in more than 1k flax per day. And I believe this group is way larger than the group who finished the seers diary and gets their flax every day. What's more are the people picking flax normally. Therefore, I don't think this update will influence the price of flax a lot, maybe a little bit, but not so much. That you don't notice the difference is because at the moment, the margin between flax, fish and maples is quite small, and there's a 3% difference at the absolute most. Which is about 3k per day more, if you pick the better one, which surely doesn't really matter over a week, but over a year, that's a whole 1M extra.
  11. Yes, sellability is definately a part, however, last time I sold maples, they sold for the GE mid price. The reason their price is so low is the fact that there's a higher supply and less demand for them, as they used to be 100 ea. If the price drops, more people (including you) switch to another resource, lowering the supply and bringing the price back up. Because of the supply and demand, the prices are already accurate and there shouldn't be any need to account for it in the Excel sheet, unless items are stuck, because noone sells/buys them. Now, while I do agree that you should take it a little bit in account, it would only change your outcome if the profits are very close together. Besides, it's more convenient to decide on the spot whether you'd like a bit more profit or easier selling, seeing as it's very hard to put sellability in a number without testing it.
  12. As far as I'm aware, Google Docs does not require a download and does not pose any security risk. However, feel free to wait for a mod to confirm this.
  13. [hide=Disclaimer]I cannot be held responsible for any losses you may get due to information in my Excel sheet or guide, unless you also hold me responsible for all your wins. [/hide] [hide=Introduction]Hello everybody, This is a guide, which main content is an Excel document, posted on Google Docs. This guide is meant for people who know how kingdom managing works and are looking to make the highest profit possible out of it. If you do not know what kingdom managing is, or how it works, I suggest you read this guide, on the tip.it main site. [/hide] [hide=The Excel sheet]This is the section in which I post the link to the sheet and explain how it works. The sheet is hosted on Google Docs, so it's visible for everyone and it doesn't require a download. This is the link: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key= ... v4yMIHAiTA The sheet most of you will be interested in is the Final Output sheet. On the top left of this sheet there are the 3 best resources, of which the first two you should allocate your manpower on. The numbers next to them are the amount of gp's you will get per gp that reaches the workers. (This does not incorporate favour yet. Meaning this is the profit you will make per gp if you keep your favour at 100% all the time.) Below this there is a table in which a few things are noted down. On the left side it says the amount of days between renewals, starting with every day, then every 3 days and so on. At the top, it gives the amount of days you wait before getting your rescources. This starts at 7 days, then 14 and you'll see how it goes on. Then for every combinations of these two, it gives your expected profit and 3 probabilities, namely the ones that maples will give you a better profit than that particular resource. This may help you deciding whether you want a steady amount of money or that you would like to try and get a lot of profit from the bird nests. Other sheets give calculations I needed to do before I could reach these results aswell as probabilities on the extra's. I made this sheet using webqueries, as Brainymidget described in his guide. (See Credits) This gets the GE prices to work with. Then I got all the results from the "Post your MTK results" thread in the General Forums, which had complete data, and used them to calculate probabilities on tree seeds, herb seeds, herbs, fishing extra's and gems from mining. These were used to calculate the expected value of the extra's. Using this I could complete calculations Chenjs2 did in an earlier guide, to get the best resources. Finally, I computed chances that maples would work better than other resources. This is where there used to be a paragraph about how I needed to manually update the information. This is no longer necissary, due to the fact that I'm now using direct webqueries, instead of through the RuneScript parser. However, since Google Docs can only have 50 webqueries per document, while I needed 56, I have manually put a few in. These are Teak, Mahogany and 4 herbs, as these are the least likely to come out on top. [/hide] [hide=You can improve this guide!]There are a few things which YOU can do to improve this guide. First of all: Submit your results to finetune my probabilities. Especially on the herb seeds my probabilities are not so accurate. I would also like to know your results from nests or any other extra. If you submit your results, please include all of the relevant data. In case of the herb seeds that is just how many you got of every seed. In the case of nests, that means all the seeds, rings and eggs you got. Secondly, if you find any mistake in the Excel sheets or my post, don't hesitate to tell me. [/hide] [hide=Credits]Chenjs2, for his original guide and checking my Excel sheet for mistakes. Brainymidget, for his "How to use Google Docs to extract GE prices" guide. JoeDaStudd, for criticism which allowed me to improve my spreadsheet. Everyone who posted in the "Post your MTK results" thread and in the process provided me with data. Google Docs, for hosting the spreadsheet. Microsoft, for Excel. Schaum's Outlines' Probability and Statistics, for providing me with enough knowledge to compute all the statistical calculations. You, for reading my guide. [/hide]
  14. No way on earth. I'm dutch and I wouldn't even go in the regular dutch servers for 10M. xD However, if it were translated, it would attract a lot of new players, who wouldn't complain "IK SNAP ET NIET" (I don't get it) if they don't speak English.
  15. I'm posting here, because I'd like to ask something. I've established nearly all the probabilties having to do with MTK within ranges varying from 0.5 to 5%, except for the herb seeds, for which the uncertainty is fairly high. (Eg for Guam seeds, it could be 28%, 44% or anything in between.) What this comes down to, that I'd like to ask everybody who gets herb seeds in their results with the flax (or herbs, if anyone still does those) to also post which ones you got and how many. I already would like to thank everybody who posted their results, because all the other probabilties are fine.
  16. I wondered if you could also post the project file, I'm a VB programmer aswell and I'd quite like to take a look at the code if that's possible.
  17. Wat does ALT+SHIFT+PrintScreen do, and how DO you get rid of it? For me. I just never get caught \ Not that I do anything anyway...
  18. PLEASE pure essense from Etceteria + more workers enabled = more money, less work
  19. Maybe there could be something like a deathmatch option, which could prevent players from running. Only available in single combat, the loser goes to spawn, winner is teleported back as if they just fought there.
  20. Nice guide, though I find it quite hard to follow the math due to the overload of variables and different functions. If you'd like to, I could probably make a small program, which would automatically create a version with updated prices for the future. It would also enable to calculate the A(flax) and A(maples), if the probabilities are known.
  21. Nice guide, well organised! Just one note: Abberant Specters are safespottable. If you attack them while standing next to the wall at the stairs leading up to the Gargoyles, there is one square, where they will not be able to attack you, but you will be able to attack them (and they won't walk away.) I believe it was the square next to the last bit of the wall, but I'm not completely sure.
  22. Am I missing something or: 20 Attack + 40 Strength + 30 HP = 27 CB + Vesta's longsword (corrupted) + pots + medium gear = 2HKOing absolutely anyone of your level?
  23. I think that most people haven't got a clue about how easy or hard it is to price manipulate. Selling the items is a real pain. What's more is that there are two ways of price manipulation. One is lieing/implying to buy something, the other one, through the GE is actually buying them, which, due to the system of the GE raises the price. The first one is illegal, as it falls under rule 2, lieing for your own personal gain. The second one is a flaw in the GE system, which is used in a way which is similar to merchanting. (Of course, before the GE there were these kinds of posts on merchanting too.) And while we're on the subject of real life economy. (Note: I'm having trouble translating some of the terms, as I'm Dutch) There are four production factors: Labour, capital, nature, and leading a company. In RuneScape, 2 out of 4 are already removed, nature, as you can't own anything. (Though some seem to think they own a spawn of ) And leading a company, as you can't have a company. Labour is the main way of getting your money: Cutting trees, monsterhunting, etc. Now capital in real life consist of bank loans, while in runescape, it is present in two forms: Item loaning, if you've got enough money to buy a godsword, you can ask a rent. And being able to do something more efficient simply because you have enough money. This includes monsterhunting for a small part as well, as with more efficient gear, you'll get more kills. But also price manipulation is under this. But, the only reason why price manipulation is possible is that if you have accumulated enough capital, the fact that you invest in a certain item itself raises the price. How do you think people who can do this got their money? They worked for it.
