Lost about 300k worth of stuff at Fire Giants......once a day.....3 days in a row.

Good luck man. I tried the same way of making money and smithing xp at the same time, but eventualy gave up on raising my painstakingly slow to raise smithing level in exchange for better money making ways like merchanting.

Didn't Pokemama take a break for a while and came back not too long ago. yet we still had editorials in that idle time so it cannot be Pokemama.

Ahh, hope I get better. I probably would have won if I wasn't stupid enough to try mage and just stay right next to him not moving. Should have either done range the whole time or hit n run with mage.

^That would work but I go by a person philosophy that strength is 20 lvls below whichever one of your stats (attack or defence ) is weaker. Therefore I suggest 80/60/80 and if you aren't bored to hell you could try getting 85 attack. These are assuming your going to be doing pest control, which can make training quite fast.

I'm thinking I would have been better of just ranging the whole time, because magic has a really long "recharge" time. And when you eat it takes that whole period away from you. Cause I noticed once I switched to range I stated killing him off fairly easily. Is my equip ok, or should I go do an all out range equip? Where should I PK. I don't like varrock cause I always get pked in multi zone there. I go to edgy, which I like better, but there's no one 1-2 lvls above or below me. Minimum is always 3 and most reject and don't even go that high :shock: I found I like castle though, although its mutli, I never really get teamed there, and if I do I just run non -multi.

Well I have decent stats for pking, and should at least be able to get a few kills, but this is rediculous. Im getting pwned by everyone, be they magesn,archers, meleers. Quitting is just as common as a new person starting. If new people came everyday and didn't quit then Runescape would be like World of Warcraft. But unlike World of Warcarft runescape isn't addicting (not as much) and so Runescape has players quitting everyday, but more joining. Quitting is just the opposite of starting to play.

Yep, that means you might be a bit slower at killing since you have to count them all, but it does give you some advtantages. It makes an incentive to pay attention so you don't go do something else, this can increase your chance of quickly getting drops and attacking another one. + Higher damage = more xp = faster leveling = Me happy :D

Due to recent complaints in loading times for the blog, I have decided to post my blog on another website host which I have noticed significant speed improvement on. Due to geocities allowing pure html and not just BB code like tip.it I can also expand my content to allow small YouTube Vids to be posted in the blog as well as some music (maybe). I will add a guestbook so you guys can continue to show me support (please :D ) and am going to see if I can find a graphic artist to make a good Background Layout Design for the page. Will also add a navigation bar so it will be easier to skip to different sections of the guide (example: Intro, Blogs, Combat lvls [sub-branch magic levels, range levels] Staking, House, ect.) I'm not sure if this is allowed to post external links to other websites as its not really a forum or anything of the sort its a single web page. If not, would it be alright if I added a tip it banner and link to make it link back to this site? I would say..hmmm....from personal expirience I have a a dueler with 2 defence (mistake) and 70 range, yet I got killed quite a few times by someone with 40 defence wearing rune chain and full helm. Now the question is, what will you wear with 70 def? If your not going to get a 70 def required armour then getting to 70 is not worth it and you should get the extra magic and range levels instead. It's also harder to find rane stakers that put armour on. Now if you went to 40 and got the 90 or so Range and 85 or so Magic and you wore a rune chain that would work really well since your using your defence level effectively. At my level (range 70, 2 def = combat 49) it's hard to hit with range on rune chainmail, but since range accuracy increases as your level goes up I have no idea how it would be at higher levels. IN SHORT SINCE I HAVE MIXED THOUGHTS: If you will utilize your 70 defence to get a 70 defence required armour go for it, if not stay with rune chain.

That stinks, hey everyone has rought times. I got 10 mil stolen by a "friend" back in June. Then later a whip and obby set. But we all bounce back stronger than before determined to get to what we strive for in the first place. I'm back up to 4.5 mil and I made a new account slowly regaining the stats my main had. Good luck with your goals man and don't let these things get you down. You just gotta bounce back and show em all how its done.

Look for something you have liked particularly in your old accounts. Or if you like more than one try making a combination of one. It's still not a pure character then but remember IT's ALL IN YOUR HEAD. As the guy before me said, set a goal to reach something big. Have you really wanted to fish sharks? be a good staker at the duel arena? do barrows for money? Have fun at Castle Wars? Have really high combats stats (Pest Control)? Be able to spend cash without worrying about how much something costs? Have a specific weapon or set of armour? Whatever you want to do set a big goal for yourself and then branch it off into little sub-sections. Little checkpoints on your way to that goal. For example if you wanted to be a level 94 Ancient Magics character, First train to 30 using basic attacks such as fire strike, then continue this until about 55 magic. Then you can start alching things like yew longbows. Then go for 70 magic as its a nice even number. Then go for 84 magic for Ice Blitz to see how cool it is (haha). Then go for 90 and finaly go to 94. If doesn't have to be in this way I just wanted you to see how to split it up into little mini-goals. My suggestion is to find an origonal name in it, maybe not even a real world, and have it have no numbers. Make it something neutral though, not something like "cheesy gold fish" that you will regreat in a year or so as you get older. I went the same approach with my character R0binhood Jr. I completely fell in love with the name. The problem was I wanted my name to be Robin Hood Jr but I had one space too many. So I cut it down to Robinhood Jr, which gave me a "name already taken" message. I replaced the 0 hoping that I wouldn't instantly be called a pure, and was happy with the result.

You only need level 40, however recomended level would be to start at about 60 fishing. It's still not "fast" but its a lot better than the ubearably slow times that the sub 50 fishing level people have.

Sweet thanks. Looks like crystal bow is the way to go. Thanks for also posting the range bonus at the different degration levels and the speed of each. Looks like firegiants will come out even since they always drop b bones and something else, with the occasional rune scim catching me up to the negative reimbursement every once in a while. I've never done Barrows, and don't intend to as I have 1 prayer and 2 defence. (I will get higher defence later to become a tank pure but for now its out of the question until I get 90 range) Blue Dragons sound nice, I've never tried them, but I have heared they're good. Too bad about the D bones prices dropping though. I use mage shortbow with rune arrows in the arena as I find it's the right balance of speed and power, especialy with the fast spec. Yes I know you can do spec and then switch weapons but I honestly prefer this method, and win most of my stakes (in my blog). I guess PC won't cover the costs of ranging. Totaly forgot about that. :wall:

Can anyone confirm that at 3/10 (I assume thats what you meant by level 3) that the crystal bow is weaker than magic shortbow with rune arrows, or did you mean at 7/10 the crystal bow is weaker than a magic shortbow with rune arrows? Also any other monster recomendations for training Range besides Fire Giants to earn back 900k! to reimburse money I spent on the bow?

Alright this thread is entirely about the crystal bow, and only the crystal bow! Please no "rune knives are better", "u should use darts", "haha noob", or other random junk. Sorry if that seems rather rude but I have gotten several replies in my past topics that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. A suggested way would be to quote the list of questions I am about to make and then enter in your answer on the line below and highlight it in bold. Alright now that we got that over, on to the questions. 1. I understand the crystal bwo recharges depend on the player, not th seed. 2. How many shots can I use on a crystal bow before it degrades from 10/10 to 9/10, and is it a constant ratio of hits until the next degration or does it slope somewhere? 3. If I spent __X__ amount of hits with one bow, and then right before it degrades switch to another bow, then the other bow will degrade in the next few shots that I make. Then I can switch back to the 10/10 bow adn repeat the whole process. This gives me a 10/10 bow for the entire time of use? 4. Concerning recharging a bow. Can you only recharge it once it has run out, or can I recharge it any times I want? 5. Assuming I can recharge it anytime I want, what stops me from taking 1 show and then recharging it the 5 or so times until I get the cheapest recharge price, or does it only give you the discount if you recharge the bow once it has been fully degraded? 6. What monsters can I face with a crystal bow, that will make up for the cost of the crystal bow in COMMON drops, excluding the luck of getting a "rare" drop? (REMEMBER THIS IS TO COVER THE COST OF THE ORIGONAL BOW THAT COSTS 900k! NOT THE CHEAPER VARIATIONS THAT COME LATER ON! 7. Is the crystal bow at 10/10 stronger than a mage shortbow with rune arrows, and if so at what level of degration does it become weaker than a mage shortbow with rune arrows? 8. Is the crystal bow good for staking in the duel arena due to its strenght (assuming it was 10/10) or is it horrible due to its lack of speed. As of right now I think its god-awful from what I've heard, since the mage shortbow is quite a knack to slow compared to rune knives already. 9. How good/bad is the crystal bow at pest control with 75-80 range? Would I get the necesary damage for getting a ticket in game that ranged from 2-3 minutes? Thanks for all your helps guys, I really appreciate it. I have about 3.5 mil at the moment so I should be able to afford it at the start, I just need to make sure the drops can reimburse me.
