  1. Am I reading this right, the urn will automatically collect the ash?
  2. You know, it's people like you that find a snake in their bed in band camp, right? <_<
  3. *Is this a rhetorical question?
  4. I am all in favour of Jagex bringing back the "dangerous randoms", only this time, make them MORE VIOLENT! Especially now that we can loot gravemarkers ...
  5. While I admit that I am not wild about another Elemental Quest (Jagex puts the MENTAL in elemental, dontcha know), I am particularly excited about another pirate quest!
  6. Looks to me as though this one is completely solved. Dungeoneering Quest or Update. Lunar Quest with new Spells Pirate Quest Elemental Workshop IV Nice work everyone!
  7. The "dangerous" portal for Clan Wars has become, basically, a "within the rules" format for luring. I spent the better part of a few evenings at the banker's chest in the Clan Wars dungeon in the Grotto, working on my herby levels, and got to watch a number of people trying to work out luring schemes. The first was obvious "Hey look, it's a low level character wearing expensive gear" format. The said low level character steps out of the dangerour portal, stands and waits long enough for everyone to see him, and then deliberate returns to Clan Wars through the dangerous portal. The other is the nearly as obvious, "Hey everyone, I am giving my stuff away" scam, wherein the said relatively low level character, usually brandishing a BGS or better weapon, and practically no armour, tells a relatively much higher level character that they will give them the BGS, but first they have to defeat them in combat in through the dangerous portal ... Of course, in both cases, the lured player had not idea how many of the lurer's friends were on the other side of the portal ...
  8. Interesting development of late -- seems that there's a lot of "gambling" going on these days. I watched three players "shooting craps" in front of Catherby bank yesterday, using the dice bag from Faruq. Watched two guys get taken for nearly 350k each in about 3 minutes. A fool and his money ...
  9. ^This^. The last time they did a bonus XP weekend, I was shocked at the amount of negative feedback in the RSO forums.
  10. Frankly - it's a scam depending entirely upon who the dealer is. Which means that 90% of the time, it's a scam.
  11. I lol'd at this ... Just to qualify further -- what I am asking is whether or not you think the "quality" of the game content is declining not the numbers of people playing, not the amount of money Jagex makes, not the nature of the players who have left, returned, retired, rejoined or are otherwise engaged or disengaged in the game's activities. This is a discussion about the game's content. Thank you.
  12. That's epic!
  13. Actually the circumstances are very similar -- they, like the issue at question, all relate to a matter of "trust". The altar boy trusts the priest. A wife trusts her husband -- this child trusted this man. Like any confidence scheme, the perpetrator manipulated the child into a position of submission. He was no longer a stranger. The action this man committed against this child is entirely unconscionable. There is no way whatsoever you can mitigate it by attempting to point a finger of blame at the child.
  14. Then again -- bot killing seems to be something of a money maker unto itself ...
  15. So -- when a priest rapes an altar boy numerous times, it's the altar boy's fault? When a husband rapes his wife, is it the wife's fault? Please explain this to me. I can't wait for your to start your career in victim assessment and psychology ...
  16. If you'd ever been raped, you wouldn't be asking that question ... <_<
  17. Because you don't understand the origins of the meme ... When Fonzie jumped the shark on Happy Days, the programs that followed that episode lost a certain "quality". After the shark jumping episode, the show itself remained immensely popular and lasted for six more seasons -- rating in the top 25 shows for 5 of those seasons. But after that particular program, there was a considerable drop in the quality of each of the programs. The focus of the show, itself, changed considerably after Ron Howard ("Richie") left the show. Then they spun off that awful "Joanie Loves Chachi" show ... :P It's not that the game's numbers are declining, or its profitability, but rather the actual quality of additions and contributions made to the game of late. The re-addition of Free Trade and the Wildy are not "new content" but rather a redux of old material. Not unlike Hollywood's current trend not to release any "new" or "risque" material, but rather offer up remixes, remakes and/or sequels of the same stupid movies, over and over and over again. Looking back at the "quest arc" of the game, for example, there's been a serious decline in the quality of quest material since "While Guthix Sleeps". Nomad was something of an upswing in terms of "epic boss battle", but even that paled in comparison to WGS.
  18. My son (the one who no longer plays Runescape) asked me the other day, what's stopping anyone from manipulating prices now by putting, say, a yellow phat up for sale on the GE at 2 bill and having a friend buy it for 2 bill, and wash, rinse and repeat? That wouldn't affect what people are paying for in world 2 or the forums. And partyhats are still underpriced on ge and can't move that quickly, so that wouldn't do anything. However the GE guide price is tied together with player to player trades since the limit was removed. If they traded it back and forth for more then the guide price in normal trades, You'd almost think it would effect the guide price. My point was that the guide price moves too slow to effect anything at the moment Even with phats jumping by 5% now? Yes. For the GE to have any resemblance of the "real price," it needs to update to meet the median trade price from the previous day. Is that taking into effect them doing only one trade in a trading day, as opposed to, say, numerous such trades, committed every four hours throughout a trading day? Could the same thing be done with, say, (random object) or something? Is this a kind of manipulation that could be performed in the GE as it is set up now?

  21. So -- you're saying it seems more like "smoke and mirrors" as opposed to content?
  22. Jagex should ban the cheaters like they promised with their never-fail bot catcher. Yes -- they're getting to that -- right after they make the rivers flow with chocolate and the sky to rain jellybeans ...
  23. I am going to support you 100% on this and I will tell you why: 1. First of all, I go "both ways". Meaning that while I recognize the efficient manner in which one "rushes" a dungeon floor, I also don't mind just taking my time and skill my way through the odd floor, from time to time. That said, when I am "in the mood" to properly dunge, it is damn near impossible to find a team at my level that can actually play properly. 2. Secondly -- your comment "... each and every day it is becoming harder and harder for a low level [dungeoneer] to advance in the [skill] because knowledgable teams are wanting to exclude them to save time ..." -- applies to a lot more things than just Dungeoneering. It also applies to certain "team-based" mini-games, such as Barbarian Assault, Castle Wars and Pest Control. Likewise, it is damn near impossible to find people who can play either of these mini-games competently. Sure -- while DG is a skill that can supply some great gear and what-not -- these mini-games are also helpful training formats that could also use their own "Tip-It" world. :shades:
  24. Yeah, like that's gonna happen. <_< What we need is to MacGyver some sure-fired way to accidentally-on-purpose kill bots without having to lure something else over to kill it.
  25. FFS the issue is not whether it will "survive", the issue is whether or not it will "decline" in quality ... Lurn UR memes! <_<
