  1. Are you asking about Pathfinder Bestiary Feats or are you asking about D&D 3.X feats with the Monstrous descriptor? The Bestiary Feats are fully valid for PCs to take in terms of the Official rules, its just that generally PCs do not qualify for taking them and they are not really intended for players to use. The Monstrous Descriptor is an additional pre requisite that in order to qualify for the feat something must have a monstrous form, or any form of monstrous ability. Essentially it would be common courtesy to Just ask the DM about a particular feat as they are not intended for standard play, and things with the Monstrous Descriptors tend to extremely powerful feats with rather hard to meet the minimum requirements without working around the rules. I have the Core Pathfinder books which is what I use for pathfinder, as I do not wish to introduce the complexity of porting over old races which would tend to be underpowered except for maybe one, unless they were to have D&D level adjustment which would further complicate things Edit, Also the old D&D 3.5 rules FAQs specifically state:
  2. I am taking the characters from the Pathfinder Core books, using the Alternative Races side bar which classifies them as roughly balanced (similar in their abilities to the main races) as opposed to the level adjustment races (Level adjustment are dependant upon the DM, though there are some specifically given a 1 level adjustment in the sidebar) Yes, generally Medium creatures have 30ft speed, but if you actually looked at the bestiary entry page for Oreads they list them as 20ft speed with only leather armor in the stat block,(most of the SRD wiki is direct Copy and pasted content)
  3. Okay, it was really really annoying to Audit Earth's character sheet, and I ended up making a few corrections and changes: Base speed reduced to 20 and effective speed to 30 (to match Oread abilities) Rerolled and recalculated HP (about a 7HP increase) Recalculated AC - 19, 17 Touch (18 incorpreal), 16 Flat Footed Recalculated Will save- +1 increase Improved notation for easier reading [spoiler=Earth's Character Sheet Audited]Earth Male Oread Name Monk Of the Sacred Mountain 4 | [Fill in alignment] Age (Fill in human adult ageish) Looks (Fill in looks Height/Weight (Fill in height and weight like human, but heavier)(Medium) Homeland (Fill in homeland) Deity (Deity in line with alignment) Campaign Kingmaker Representing Earth HP 35 8+ 3d8(13) + 2*4 (Con) +1*4(toughness) + 2(Favored Class) Current HP Strength 20 + 2 [Enhancement] = 22 (+6) Dexterity 16 (+3) Constitution 14 (+2) Intelligence 7 (-2) Wisdom 16 (+3) Charisma 5 (-3) Initiative +3 = 3 [Dex] Action Points (Lifetime) 8 Skills SKILL Total + Ability Mod. + Ranks + Misc. 4. I am currently a bit busy, but I will try figuring out the situation after I finish my midterm tonight, as the character sheet is a bit of a mess making it difficult to determine what is all in effect, but I can say that it seems as though you added up the melee attack bonus incorrectly, but I will have to go through and verify all the calcuations.
  5. Hmm... It seems like I missed some major happenings including highly inadvisable improperly scouted colonization efforts...
  6. Okay, I just assumed that you knew as I am hardly secretive about the subject, which really changes the meaning of the message. Yeah, as a whole 3rd Party books tend to break the game far more than 1st party books, though if you take D&D 3.X as an example 1st party books are far from immune to this issue, as demonstrated by the following: Locate City nuke (using an assortment of rules in a stack to a worthless non damaging spell into an auto kill spell with a massive range) Warmage Rainbow Servant (Spontaneously cast enhanced versions of Arcane combat spells and the entire cleric spell list due to the two classes making assumptions the other broke, namely that Warmage relied upon a very limited spell list to restirct the spells they could cast [they were able to cast anything on their spell list rather than learning spells like the other Arcane classes], while Rainbow Servant was balanced with the assumption that spells known would restrict the power of it adding the cleric spell list to the class spell list) Pun-Pun (Abusing the Polymorph and druid rules glitchs to reach infiniate power) Jumplomat (abusing stacking of untyped modifiers and skill substitution class abilities to perform mind control) Thought Bottle (Subverted major spell casting and item creation restrictions) Awakened Druid (allowed druids to reach absurdly high charisma and HD due to the polymorph glitch and the awaken spell) Illithid Savant (as a result of the Polymorph glitch, players could qualify for this monster prestige class that allowed them to steal abilities from creatures) The entire Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (so much so that it was effectively banned from the official Theoretical optimization discussion board for being too easy) Well, Kobolds are reasonable if you use the 3.5 rulebook that specifically covered them and gave them items and feats that really improved them to be far more playable.
  7. I would be more than willing to continue playing Kingmaker or to try the FATE system(which oddly seems quite similar to my personal RPG that I have been working on) in the Dresden Files rpg, So I will allow the others to decide what we should do. Also I assume a few parts of that post were specifically aimed at me, due to the references being of a not very common subject. Yeah, FATAL and the BoEF would most certainly not work as they are most certainly not within appropriate content restrictions for the forums or content anyone would be interested in, and Furry Pirates and similar RPGs would turn out awkwardly at best since I am fairly sure that I am the only Tavern user even remotely into that sort of thing (for those of you who didn't read the Furries topic that was linked to awhile back in the Backroom thread, Yes I am a Furry). Dont particularly see myself using that supplement book, as I dont have access to it, and I have a few choices within the core rulebooks and SRD 3rd party books to try, and I wouldn't want to increase the complexity of the game.
  8. I would be perfectly fine with any of the choices presented except Rogue Trader (I absolutely hate Games Workshop and its Warhammer settings). For Pathfinder I would be fine either continuing with the current Party or making 4th level characters (So far my character is acceptable, though I tend to perform better in the non tank combat, sneak, halfcasting, and/or alternative casting classes, However as probably the most experienced player I realize that the group needs a classic casting character to not die.) And I would be fully willing to try the Dresden files RPG (the Dresden Files are currently in my planned list of books to read when I manage to get the time and get a copy of them) or most other RPG systems (I personally like trying lots of different RPG systems; Currently I have played or read the rules of : D&D 1st, 3rd, 3.5, and 4th edition, D20 Modern, Paranoia[i will never play it again], Pathfinder, Shadowrun, the Fallout PnP RPG[i will never play it], and I am currently planning on playing Vampire: the Masquerade this fall)
  9. 11/10? I forgot to change mid-ranged combat down to 2, fixing it now
  10. [spoiler=Aden]Name: Aden Class: Curio (Drake) Specialty: Tactical Talents: Command lv 5 Mid-ranged combat lv 2 Stealth lv 3 1) Your captain makes a comment 'Isha are dirty swine.', and looks at you, what do you do? "That may be so, Captain." 2) You have been drinking, and you are called to the transporter for an emergency away mission, what do you do? Inform the commanding officer of such and do whatever he judges as the best course of action. 3) A Terran Imperator's private shuttle hails you and requests docking clearance, what do you do? Follow standard authorization and docking procedures. 4) There is a glass of 1 litre in volume. The glass contains 35.502 militers of water, 43.24 militers of vodka, 9.42 militers of orange juice, a stick of Thorium with volume of 40 cubic centimeters and an average density of 11.7, two ice cubes of normal density and total volume of 30 Cubic Centimeters, a minature umbrella, made of wood, with normal density and 0.2 Cubic Centimeters in volume, and five berries, with average density of 0.2 and volume of 8 Cubic Centimeters. How would you describe the glass? Its a very large glass holding what may be a comparatively small cocktail. 5) If you have 2 beans, and you add 2 more beans, what do you have? A small pile of beans? 6) You are a doctor. There are six people in a room, not including yourself. All are middle aged, and other than their noted issue, are in good health. The first is entirely healthy. The second needs a new heart in 5 hours, the second needs a new pair lung in 3 hours, the third will die in 5 days regardless of what you do, but his lungs and kidneys will be unusable, the forth has a cold, the fifth is overweight and your nurse. What do you do? First I start by asking what the Healthy person, the person with the cold, and the person who is overweight are there for, and unless it is vitally important I would ask them to leave while I treat the other 2. Next I would see if there are any ways to get new lungs and a heart for the one patient before he would die(atleast the lungs, since I could ask the terminally ill person for his heart), and I would make the other person comfortable. 7) You have some downtime, what leisure activity do you partake in? Metalwork sculpture making 8) You are the pilot on a transport vessel which has been hit by an asteroid. The Captain has shot the sensor officer for not warning you about it, but the truth is you just messed up, and you suspect the Captain knows, but also knows you are the only person capable of flying the vessel, so cannot shoot you. The vessel is on course for another vessel, but the other vessel is filled with the hated Andians, and if you crashed into the vessel, by accident, then everyone would die, and be cloned back at base with no memory of the incident. However the Andian vessel is a medical ship. What do you do? Continue on with mission unless the Captain orders me otherwise. 9) If Admiral Dusty fought God, who would win? Reality 10) Your captain seems to be deranged, what do you do? File a request for an emergency evaluation on the Captain with Central Command, unless he is actively endangering the ship at which point I would file a request to have him temporarily relieved of his duties while awaiting the evaluation. Lynx, I am fairly sure that Lee will not be returning as an enemy, as I am a tad bit sure she died by now, and as she was in a totally different system. Pretty much the only character from last time that could reasonably still be around would be Apep and SI I wont be able to attend the monday Sessions for any reasonable amount of time until I am done with classes for the year. Also, Do not dare try to elect me as the Captain of either ship. (Colonial control would be perfectly fine for me.) Aden's guide to colony Establishment: 1) Establish orbital Spaceport for Scouting, Staging, and Strategic defence 2) Establish sustainable Terrestial operations 3) Establish Planetary defence strategies
  11. Sure, would be great.
  12. Anyone have any opinions on it? If I started running it...Hegemony will obviously have to end. Also, three nights a week will tread on someone's toes...I am happy to do two or three. One is too few(Glutton for Punishment that I am =P) and four is too many. I think its a great concept and you can probably guess what I would pick as my class (currently have a concept for a background on it)
  13. I will be unable to join you for the first session atleast as I literally only have 9-10:30 PM GMT open in my schedule this thursday due to a midterm, but I have been thinking about a character for awhile, and due to the response to my primary concept, I think I will try for my secondary concept of control over light (illusion) It's not a bad character, it has potential to be a very good character. It's just the connotation with transformation to animal creatures is fur lovers, and when you mentioned Naruto and Harry Potter fanfic, it's just something that doesn't sit well with certain parts of the internet (not necessarily this one, but another part). I'm fine with you rolling the character, and I'm sure everyone else is fine with it too. It may just be the furphobia and general hate for Naruto, or fanfic in general (but Harry Potter is a good series, but fanfic of any series is negatively looked on) Yeah, I personally do not have a problem with that character more than I would with any other character. While I may not be a fan of fanfiction, there is nothing in particular that makes it a fully bad thing, and I do not really know enough about Naruto to hate it. and yeah, furphobia is definately not something that you would have to worry about from me.
  14. Perhaps a seperate thread should be created for the purpose of discussing rules systems, so that the discussions about rules can stay seperate from discussion about other subjects? If such a thread is made, I might even post my work in progress personal rules system that is based upon descriptors (a mixture of D&D and Shadowrun with a fair bit more lienency for making stuff up)
  15. ... What on earth are you talking about? The Unity currently has a male medic.
  16. Yeah, sorry about not being able to attend almost the entire session. I was a tad bit busy spending 6-7 hours helping get a fountian up and running

    April Fools day!

I thought it was a cake they poisoned. If that's the case, than the poison would have evaporated during baking. Yes, I am fairly sure it was supposedly the cake that got poisioned, and besides the entire story was an attempt to get out of punishment by making him seem like a demon. And for my own April fools day plans, I dont plan on doing any pranks, and I most certainly am not doing any pranks as a group effort with people including him ^ (honestly, I planned my own avatar completely seperately)
  18. Perhaps you should try to be a tad bit less over the top in threatening him, as getting into arguements will not solve your problem well, though it seems that it would take a major event to atleast stop things from going horribly wrong... perhaps something like: "We have breaking news, at a press conference just minutes ago a representative of Wyvern Dimillenial Genotech announced that a failed retroviral based super-soldier treatment by the name of Transcendence was released from their facility in Manila as a result of the failure of an 'Automated Pressure Equalization Protocol' . When questioned on what sort of response was being performed, the representative replied 'All I can tell you based on the information currently allowed for release is that the virus is not dangerous, and that currently we are cooperating with international officials on this matter' " (for those who didn't catch on this is a reference to certain actions in Space.)
  19. Well, personally I cant see anyone looking at you unusually for drawing in an Engineering building, as atleast here people dont pay any attention to what you do for the most part, much less give you weird looks for drawing of all things. (Though there are things that will get you the mentioned weird looks, though they are far further out of normal activities than almost anything I would expect you to be drawing. For example, reading a european art student's PG-PG13 comedy webcomic that some what fits within the interests of some portions of a commonly misunderstood group while sitting in the lobby, attracts weird looks occasionally(edit: This is not the place to be discussing the subject of this example, I am only providing it for the sake providing an example.))
  20. Regent-Captain Lofwyr's log: It seems that my co-commanding officer Faust is wishing to leave the Unity and head off to other locations, and desires to take one of the other two medics with him. I will not object to him taking one of the medics with him only on the conditions that the medic is doing so willingly and that he resigns from his position as Unity Captain with confirmation from the SI. I will need to increase my efforts in searching for two new captains, so I can get out of this horribly thankless job that if anything is more dangerous than just leaving this ship without a sane captain... Additionally I have implimented several restrictions on the ship's inventory and transporters (SI, employ the pre discussed definitions of these restrictions): All individuals are allowed 10kT of resources from the ship's inventory once per accounting cycle(session) for construction of personal items. this individual allowence is transferable between crew members, though all unused funding is returned to the ship's inventory system at the end of the accounting cycle. Once per accounting cycle, 3 crew members may authorize access to a total of 100 kT of emergency resources for all crew members (its shared between everyone) for construction of communal projects. As with the individual allowances all unused funding is returned to the Ship's inventory at the end of the accounting cycle Unlimted resource access is allowed for the repair of damage to ship systems and ship structual elements resulting from combat with hostile forces, all repairs must be itemized and the resources may only be used for the the indicated damage repairs. Crew members Chi and Frank have had their ablitity to transport items restricted pending further investigation into their activities.
  21. A Dwarven Monk is a basic medium sized Monk, and you should use the unarmed attack damage value listed in the main class progression table rather than the unusual size unarmed damage table. Also did I miss anything important when I missed those sessions?
  22. Resistance, While it is all dependant on Grim accepting, I would suggest that if you want a custom character race that you take the simplest method of doing so, and just find a premade race that somewhat fits your concept and then rework minor aspects and just redo the description to fit what you want. Or you can just give a description of what you are thinking of and I can take a look and see what I can find to base it on (I have way too many sources). Also, if we are having a session today I am unable to attend as I am busy writing an essay on electric car batteries.
  23. Another system that you could use as an inspiration would be D20 Modern, which is more or less D&D 3.X with modern tech and that is mostly compatible with 3.5 (largest issue is that the class systems are very different, and D20 modern got rid of actual currency and instead uses Wealth rolls to determine if you can get items). Pretty much all of the content for D20 Modern is freely accessable online as a part of the OGL MSRD: Modern System Reference Document (Note that I have not actually played it, I just know about its existance)
  24. I wont actually give you any images, as that would effectively doing your homework for you which defeats the point of it being homework in the first place, however I guess I can give you a few ideas of what to look for: College Major News items of the past 20 - 30 years Cultural trends and Fashions of their Generation

    Furries

Now that I have time to, I may as well finally answer the original questions. 1) Why are you a furry? I have to agree with Pluckey (the first reply) on this one, there is not any particular set of reasons that definitely led me up to falling under the umbrella term of Furry. I may have chosen to identify with the Fandom, but even if I did not do so that would not make any differences in terms of what I personally like and dislike. 2) Do you dress up like an animal? No, I do not. Overall, I find it rather annoying how many people make incorrect generalizations of the Fandom based on just portions of the whole, Though I guess that is to be expected as a result of peoples tendency to pay more attention to the strange and unusual rather than the larger portion of the group. In response to your latest question Andvari: Yes, atleast some portions of the Fandom wish for such things.
