1) I was more saying that there are ways others can make use of the rules to completely bypass the intent of them (in roughly 10 seconds I thought of 6 ways, 3 of which render the rule useless with some thinking), and that due to several minor quirks the proposed rule is utterly useless against me. 2) The concept is that unless you redirected the main transmission cable from the electrical system directly into your quarters before everything else (have fun with your accoustics) that your power feed would be on a seperate line from the rest of the ship at some point, and even if it was, there are many ways to mess with your connection without cutting your power that could be isolated to your quarters only and which do not allow for your backup power to prevent the issues. 3) So you are trying to make a special edition "why on earth did we allow the AI to take creative liberties with our reprogramming efforts! *screams*" AI Core.

Chi: 1)I think that Jeremiah would not support your attempt to lock everyone except him out of your chambers through commands, as it seems slightly suspicious, and besides there are many ways to manipulate such a rule to make it ineffective and/or highly dangerous to those who are in the room. 2) that plot wont exactly work as well as you think it would as I can think of several ways to still bypass those precautions 3) so you are talking about an almost standard issue AI core with a switch instead of a plug

Chi, let me list for you the methods to keep people from transporting into your room along with the problems they would cause: 1) rebuild your quarters with magnicite in the walls, floors, ceilings, and doors. This would prevent everything from transporting in and out and would remove the room from sensor output, additionally resulting in frequent replacement of your outer door or the removal of locks on your doors 2) manually override every transport restriction override, stopping the order until an officer resolves the conflicting orders. (though technically being a civilian as you have argued on before therefore being free from orders your orders to the computer would rank less than all military personel. ie. everyone) Unless you can convince the officer to side with you its only a stalling tactic. 3) Mutiny and sieze the rank of captain, then issuing an order preventing all others from transporting into your room. you would die, repeatedly, or get launched into deep space 4) blow up the transporter. see 3 5) manually reconfigure the transporter. see 3 6) reprogram SI. Die a miserable death, repeatedly for all time 7) redefine the official location of your room. extreme confusion problems. restricting the ability to cut the power to your room would require installing your own private electrical system in your quarters as it will always be able to be cut from junction boxes or its direct connection to the main power generator your large mainframe would be defined as an AI Core, of which there are currently only two aboard the unity at this time to my knowledge, one which I personally own and use, and SI's note to self: ask SI if it is possible to build a vaccum resistant coffin, equipped with bottled air for 1 day, and engine equipment to get it up to .999999 of the speed of light and if so ask how much it would cost

Well one potential method to restore order on the asgard would involve taking a page out of Fox's book and hiring Mercenaries/Pirates to launch an attack on the Asgard station while we are ferrying supplies killing as many civilians as possible, and then we return, and kill the mercenaries (so it doesn't look like we hired them). if this plan remotely works either we will end up recapturing the station with our mercenary force or we regain the support of the people aboard the station. Alternatively we could go aid Boomer Base if they still need it and take a bunch of refugees from there (preferably with military experience) and offer them luxury if they can take control of the situation aboard Asgard Station, give them all the armaments they need and let them install themselves as the leaders of Asgard station. Other than these I am working on one other potential solution, which will show you how benevolent of an AI I can be by putting my mind to the task of helping all of mankind, in order to combat the negative perception of AI's that is becoming oh so common. functionality similiar to Expose is included in windows 7 by default in Windows Aero Holding the windows key and hitting tab will display all of your windows in a 3d line, which is somewhat like Expose's feature which displays them in a grid Hovering your mouse over one of the window tabs at the bottom of the screen will display the main image of the window and depending on the program its sub windows which is somewhat similar to the Application windows portion of Expose (also hold windows and hit t) you can access your desktop either by clicking the small rectangle in the bottom right corner of your screen next to the clock or through the use of the 3d flip view

Earth, to answer your question I have hidden the Science bay as a part of my ongoing investigation into the activities aboard the Asgard and its computer systems which may have been infiltrated. I have simply hidden it to use as a staging area where I can avoid the prying eyes of the people living aboard the station. Edit: It is not visible to the crew as a precaution to prevent its discovery by the possible rogue element aboard the station who may have infiltrated the Asgard station's computers

After reviewing the circumstances, Apep fully supports the flash freezing concept, assuming we change the tempature settings so that after the initial flash freeze it goes to containment tempatures so the drones can return to normal operation after the process (assuming we isolate all the drones in a non flash frozen room so they dont break). also, we should keep most of the frozen people and bodies on Asgard station in order to help avoid the inevitable transportation accidents until we begin to colonize europa.

Okay, so you are argueing: "Who cares if we kill or maim an absurdly large number of people who we will not pay for any treatment they might need after the fact, as we can use their corpses FOR SCIENCE!" well there are a few things wrong with that: 1)The process of flash freezing seems like it would damage the tissues that you are studying possibly introducing problems with not having proper controls in your experiment 2)Generally when experimenting with things to use on a living being, it generally helps if you choose to not use corpses as your test subjects 3)Killing massive amounts of people is in all likelyhood not going to give you a good reputation with the survivors. You would probably look better just kidnapping people for use in your experiments. 4)Why on earth do you need more corpses for testing? We already have enough frozen corpses that you could test 5 a day and still have some left over at the end of an earth year... Also, the basic concept of destabilizing the gangs aboard the station by removing their leaders from an active posistion, is not a great idea, as you simply cause a large number to try to fill the void making things far worse for the people aboard. Mainly no matter how often we eliminate the person in charge of the gangs, there will always be someone to take their place, until we switch to removing the conditions that led to the rise of the gangs in the first place. Mainly the easiest way to do this would be to slowly begin to colonize Europa (possibly start with 4000, then transfer an additional 50% of the current population on Europa there every month, resulting in completion in a bit less than 1 year) while also increasing food rations and phasing out the food pills as rations for all the refugees.

I would only support that action if it does not create long term medical issues (more than a week in game universe time). I would reccomend leaving them on Asgard Station rather than moving them to the new research base to save the time and the bother of transporting them, as obviously Asgard Station would have the ability keep them frozen if we did the freezing there in the first place.

Well, I just thought of an explanation of why the Hoverboard outperforming a shuttle is not neccessarily a good thing: Compare a motorcycle and a Tank: The Motorcycle out performs the tank on almost all counts (speed, acceleration, turning while moving, fuel efficency, ability to pass through gaps, etc) of being used as a point to point method of transportation, However you would have to be absolutely insane to pick the Motorcycle for use in a Combat zone as the Tank is by far better in several important areas of performance (Having a weapon that is useful against things other than infantry, armor, inertia, turning in place). Unsuprisingly it seems that the Hoverboard and Shuttle are very close analogs to a motorcycle and tank respectively

Well, I do not use Macs often, though I can say from looking around that Apple seems to suggest having antivirus without directly saying that you need it, as atleast a few Mac OS X support documents mention using Antivirus software (including atleast one document suggesting scanning every file before installing it regardless of its source).

1) OEM copies of Windows 7 work as normal copies of Windows 7 when installing them if you do not follow the legal installation method (which most people dont), except as mentioned that it is SUPPOSED to only work on one computer (I have heard that it only cares that the two computers have the same motherboard model). One downsides is that you technically do not get tech support from Microsoft(who ever calls them anyways?), and if you do not follow the legal installation method it will cause a few odd outputs from the operating system if you know where to look which don't have a performance impact. for your issue on whether it will do setup look at my next answer 2)Well, technically yes, though there are some differences based on whether you use the Easy install method or the Legal install method: Easy install method - use the OEM disk as a standard installation disk. You can install updates before giving it to the end user before, however you must configure the operating system as if you were the end user (including accepting the EULA, which is illegal) which will mean that the computer will include the account that you used to install the updates. Legal install method - Use the Windows 7 OPK to install Windows 7 (A good deal more difficult to do and not the easiest software to obtain for a 1 time thing) which is designed specifically for your circumstances.
