  1. LOL this is such a cool thread WHO GETS A FARSEER LOL BUY AN ARC U NUB
  2. Sorry to go off topic, but: Is that really worth it? How long are your trips and how many kills do you get? I'd really only consider that if you get significantly more than me, which is 2 yaks for 100 kills (no cannon)
  3. Whaoahh that's really brave. Don't you ever get scared you won't time it right? If supreme and prime both hit you, that's pretty much a guarenteed KO at 500-600 HP (which is what I maintain)
  4. What? I'll agree with Arma and Sara, but if you do Bandos, it's not easy to find spawns. Neither is finding 2 empty spawns for TD's. It's usually pretty easy for DK's to find a completely empty world, but I'm pretty intent on finding worlds with a specific number of people so that my spawns are timed right. So when I come across a world with the right number of people, if there's a solo mager in there, I'll probably crash him. You kinda ignored my part about not liking bandos in the first place. From what it seems like, you don't even bother to hop worlds a couple times (lets say 5 for an easy number) to find an empty DK world. True? Also, I'd like to know why exactly you can't bend your timing just by a little bit. Also, I'm curious; what's this magical population size you search for exactly? What style of DKing do you prefer as well? I never have to wait for DK spawns on a 1-1.1k pop world using my method of choice. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but, I think you're taking the stance that suggests that crashing the first world you find is more efficient than actually taking 5 minutes to hop/check 5-6 worlds per scout. I highly doubt that. The rate you would burn up supplies having to out-damage another person for an hour usually is higher than dropping DKs without bother for 55 minutes. -Ry 5 Minutes on a trip is a huge deal... lol. I am not willing to spend 5 minutes to hop for worlds. I would rather crash (which takes no additional time at all). And for Rex I get a 80-100% win rate against anyone not using Arcstream + OVL + SoL / is not on task. So I don't really end up wasting supplies - in fact, I save runes. It's so much easier to crash someone at Rex than any other place simply because I do significantly more damage than anyone else. I do hop when I find a hybrider or tribrider. In those cases it's not worth it to crash. Kill order gets messed up, you don't get all of the kills, and it generally gets really messy when someone dies because of Prime. I use ~1000 pop worlds as well. My kill order is Prime (til 10% HP) - Rex - KO Prime - Supreme - Rex, but sometimes only Rex and Supreme, depending on how much of my special I have left for DDS specs. On worlds below 900 I almost always have to wait for one of the Rex spawns for 10-15 seconds; on worlds above 1200 you run into issues where Rex or Prime spawns too fast. Waiting for Rex spawns every cycle for 10-15 seconds * 30 cycles per trip = 300-450 seconds wasted (approximate); Prime spawning too early makes you eat a lot of extra food because you have to pray mage instead of range when killing supreme. In addition, during peak hours most worlds that don't lag are 1200+; a 1000 world is pretty hard to find. Why are you so insistent on making me seem malicious? I really am just crashing because it's the most effective thing to do in a lot of situations. Again - we aren't crashing to be malicious. There's a difference between beating someone to satisfy a desire to be superior, and beating someone because they have something you want.
  5. So if I were a boot camp trainer, would I feel bad if one of my trainees had a mental breakdown because of me? Social expectations depend situationally.
  6. Waits for the imminent "I'm 6 ft 5 with a supermodel girlfriend and i like have lots of friends and like a life and your just some sad nerd gtfo" Yeah I'm actually 7 foot 13 with a supermodel boyfriend As for the issue of having a friendly community or not, I don't think you should look to MMO's to do that. If you really wanted to meet good, friendly, nice people, why not go volunteer in a neighborhood organization? I'm not encouraging openly being mean to people, cause that's just disrupting. But why do I necessarily have to be nice to people I probably will never see online? Why not spend that energy elsewhere in real life? As for a solution to crashing: If more Bandos spawns were implemented, Bandos armor would be significantly more common. This would reduce the prince of Bandos until it's simply uneconomical to do Bandos for higher levels. I think a lot of players would be unhappy about this. The best system would be to have bosses that are hard enough (i.e. corporeal beast) that require a (high level) team. Finding teams means you have to add people to your friendslist. A lot of friends I've made are through really old Bandos CC's. It promotes teamwork. Very ironic - I got crashed today at DK's, but the guy ended up dying and almost losing Full Arma, Bandos, Fury, and Claws. Possibly even a Spectral SS too, I don't know if he was using 2 Crystal bows or 1. If you're a crasher and don't know how to crash, don't bother me.
  7. I own rapier and maul so I have a bit of experience. TDS: w/ Steel titan : CLS = Maul >> Rapier w/o Titan: CLS = Rapier > Maul (really depends on how well you switch) Bandos: CLS > Rapier by a small amount (the two are pretty comparable though) Sara: Maul > CLS > Rapier Slaying Rapier >>>>> Anything else DKS (supreme): Rapier >>>>> Anything else Training Rapier >>>>>> Anything else (by far - it's not marginal) Against Dragons Rapier >>>>>> Anything else
  8. The majority of people with SS can take spinolops without getting hit that hard. Lets not forget you can stagger attacks, allowing you to flick Deflect prayers during the enemy attacks, and SS during your own. Coming from someone who does tribrid DK in full tank gear, I have to say the damage you receive from spinolyps is NOT negligible. Otherwise I could kill all 3 kings without food. And yes, it's possible to flick between deflects and SS, but that's also a lot of effort and may not fit certain players' playstyles. (i.e. people who like to semi-afk) 5% isn't marginal. Also, being able to have defense boost and ranged boost in one prayer is very useful for tanking specs in pvp.
  9. This is actually kind of true. If you can crash and win 90-100% of the time, sometimes it may be more economical to crash someone than to have your own spawn. And yes: An argument = if (assumptions), then (action). If I want to be efficient, then I crash. Whether or not being efficient is a logical choice depends on how you value efficiency - that's subjective, and a whole other argument.
  10. One other thing to remember is that when keeping SS on, you're losing a protection prayer. So while you're healing, you're still being dealt some damage. It may also be in these cases that H-O-T + protection may be better. SS Rex is a perfect example. You're supposed to be healed 500 HP by SSing a whole rex; however, in the meantime you'll be hit 2-3 times by spinolyps, dealing around 60-80 damage each.
  11. There are times when it's too risky to SS flash: Prime, Armadyl, (Sometimes) Bandos or you can't time it properly b/c your monster and you have different attack speeds.
  12. If this happened in a company I worked for, I would consider firing the employee on the spot
  13. I hop for Arma and I hop for TD's when I'm not using a titan, but if I have my titan with me and I only see one spawn used for TD's I'll crash - that's because I need both spawns, and it takes 4-5 worlds before I find a totally empty world. Also I'm kind of amused at the claims "I have no life" - how do you know I don't have a life? What if I'm just that much more efficient than you? :shades:
  14. this. especially at somewhere like arma or dks where prayer dictates the amount of time that you can last. DRR are you serious jagex. Terrible design. I've heard Augury is twice the drain rate of Piety too -_-
  15. Hello, just wanted to open a thread up to discuss the new range prayer and whether or not it makes the modern prayerbook useful enough to use over curses. The major argument I see against the modern prayerbook is the lack of SS. However, the 50HP/min Heal-Over-Time prayer is actually a pretty good alternative IMO. Coupled with regen brace, you get 100HP/min H-O-T; over an hour, this is equivalent to the healing from 10 brews every hour. I can see the modern prayerbook being more useful than curses for: -- Armadyl: Arugable, depends on the strength of the range prayer and whether or not it's worth giving up SS -- DK Tribriding: The major rate limiting step to tribriding (not 2.5-ing using Losing Games' method, I'm talking about the Prime(til 10%HP)-Rex-KO Prime-Supreme method) is killing prime. -- Slaying using ranged -- Ranged PKers (I also wonder if they'll get a 2x Dbow spec because of the new ring). Dbow will also now be able to 1 hit people. --Potentially even TD's (SS is hard to flick properly there, and requires a lot more extra practice and timing)
  16. LLL yeah I had 10M + Arcstream on me, woulda been a pro death

  17. I have CM & Titan.. I lost 2 out of 6 Graars to a guy using whip + defender mainly because I was out of spec restores and he wasn't
  18. Or do what me and lalala do which is be pro and play secretly. LOL
  19. The problem is that those willing to defend their crashing seem to skip most of the posts which give very good criticism to the crashing yet pick up and start arguments on the posts which have more holes in them. Guys, if you are going to discuss this, do it in a sensible and constructive manner. Personal insults and off topic arguments will be removed from here on in. Just saying - maybe the "other criticisms" of crashing are ones that we agree with, and thus don't feel a need to comment on them. Part of the reason I wanted to have such an extreme original post was to point out that you shouldn't get angry over these things. Just suck it up and move on.
  20. Purples are the most common hat, so that first off gives them the "advantage" in that they will be traded more often in GE. Also, they have the lowest street value, so if a player were to dump a partyhat in the GE for cash, and had to choose between all of the colors (assuming he has a set), he would dump the purple. They dropped below green a long time ago... Back in the day, it used to be Purp<Yellow<Green<Red<White<Blue; even before, it used to be Yellow<Red<Green<White<Blue<Pink (i think)
  21. Jagex isn't being very professional. At the end of the day, if you can't deliver what you say, you need to improve something. Regardless of what excuses you have, a company should run focused on results. Two delays is kind of inexcusable.
  22. Can we stop making this thread a flame war? Regardless of who is right, if we care enough to elute any actual truth, try not getting it locked.
