  1. Again, it is their issue that their customer base is dumb. As a company you shouldn't care if your customer is at fault, because they'll complain about it anyway. You're repeating yourself, and so am I. Clearly, one of us is not understanding the other. And as I suggested before an obvious solution would be to give us a release date maybe a week beforehand. And if they anticipate delays they should just tell us it will be next week or Thurs/Fri. It also doesn't cost Jagex anything to do this. I don't see how it could be a bad business practice.
  2. Again, it's NOT a matter of whose fault it is but how Jagex deals with the expectation. I hope you agree the expectation exists too. I would like to see a company make money in the long run without keeping customers satsified The "illogical expecation creating group" is not small. Look at all the kids raging on RSOF. Even if they DO release it on time, the customers will still whine about it like spoiled children. That shouldn't be an excuse to not make an effort.
  3. Again Jagex have always said no set update days. So its the players themselves creating expectations not Jagex. Whether or not the expectation is player-generated or Jagex-generated doesn't matter, because either way the expectation is still there and Jagex must deal with it Not really. You can't blame the company for following their policy of no set update day just because players create their own expectations. That'd be like trying to sue a supermarket because you tried to eat a chicken (bought there) without cooking it. Sure they sold you the raw chicken, but they didn't say you can eat this chicken as is so its not their fault you did so. With Rs Sure Jagex have told us there will be an update this week, but they haven't told us a day or time so it isn't their fault or problem if you create you own expectation of when it will be Yes and I agree with you. But from the company's point of view, their ultimate goal is to keep the customer happy, even when the customer is in your eyes being unreasonable.

  5. I think the problem is Jagex has set up the expectation for release date to be a Monday or Tuesday to be one particular week of a particular month. If they think the update will be late, why don't they just tell us in the twitter hint like Thursday or something? That way people don't have the expectation for it being Monday or Tuesday. I think people don't mind the wait in itself - they're bothered more by the fact that things didn't match expectation.
  6. Very possible, but I hope not because that would mean another amulet switch in pvp for me and I already have too many -_-
  7. Jagex is a terrible company. Don't say something about "development takes a long time" because they have been working on this a month, or longer, in advance. Obviously things come up time to time but I don't think this update and the TT update were isolated incidents. There is something systematically wrong with how Jagex approaches projects. Jagex should make it clear exactly what dates they will release an update. If they feel like they can't finish it in time they should just have originally set the date so far back that they'll be sure they can finish the update by then.
  8. Expected solo bandos killrates and trip length are often off because of crashing. It's mostly the hopping, being crashed, anti-crashing, etc. that makes Bandos generally worse than DK's or frosts imo
  9. The way I read it: -Ring that reduces special attack cost -Headgear that reflects melee -Prayer that boosts range and defense I dont know if "eye" should be taken literally like that, but who knows
  10. A whole lot will depend on the token costs of these new items/abilities. I can't see too many people using the deflect ring in dangerous areas if it costs 200k or more tokens, especially since (with the exception of the onyx i) rings have a very low protection value. This is true. I'm pretty sure the spec-red ring will be low-prot and high-cost, or Dbow pjing would be nuts. I really hope they balance the spec-red ring well. At the maximum the ring should only reduce 5% of the spec cost... otherwise you could get 3 claw specs in a row with a spec rest pot. 3 claw specs in a row would actually break safe-pvp combat - claws are broken enough already.
  11. I forgot people slay, lol. Zerker(i) will still be the best for slaying. But in terms of pvp combat and MHing, i'm pretty sure the melee-deflect/spec-reducing will be much better. Plus I don't really see people running around with a ring switch in their inventory - it sounds impractical
  12. Wait for the new overpowered rewards in B2 which come out tomorrow. TBH this is more like 1.5 I think... Or 1.75 since we already had a "1.5" Did people forget that 2 new rings are being released tomorrow and that they will render all MA rings useless :P
  13. I use 2 Ovl/8ppot/8brew for my steel titan setup. If youre using a uni, use ex str/att/range because it's cheaper and annoying to deal with Ovl running out.
  14. This isn't possible when 1) you're soloing (which you should be for everything other than corp. Team GWD is for noobs); 2) your computer crashes, internet crashes, etc. Even though those are low-probability events, low probability events eventually will happen. Team GWD is more efficient than solo at Zil and Arma. Soloing Zil is very irritating, and soloing Arma is not time-efficient because of the tedious KC. Trios are generally the norm for both of those bosses. But yes, if you get a power outage or your internet jacks up, chances are you will be gone for more than five minutes. Solo arma KC with steel titan is around 5-6 minutes, and you can last 15+ kills
  15. A higher leveled player hopping will get no kills at all. That's because you're not really arguing. A lot of the things you're saying are fundamentally opinion. Again, that isn't an argument but a statement of opinion. An argument has a premise (if ...) and a conclusion (then...) You see, I can sum up the reason why people don't leave when they get crashed in three worlds -- because they can. There's no other reason. Everything beyond that fact is an ad hoc justification. And the fact that someone is negatively effected by not leaving when youre crashed? Well, those people be damned. It's all about you. BCP is a bad example because Bandos is pretty much already saturated, with BCP's being produced at nearly the maximum rate. Let's for the sake of argument use Dragon hatchets. Due to the recent TT update, a lot more crashing has gone on at DK's. Look at the price of the hatchets. That's great for Wal-Mart. What's that got to do with anything I typed out? "Sidenote:"
  16. The whole point of the original post was to categorize when the strength bonus is better and when the prayer bonus is better. TL;DR Use Bandos if: -- You have soul wars cape -- You use turmoil on tasks -- Your task is uncannonable or not in multi Use proselyte/verac if: -- You have to protect pray -- You don't have a soul wars cape -- Your task is in multi and your familiar/cannon will do a lot of damage
  17. This isn't possible when 1) you're soloing (which you should be for everything other than corp. Team GWD is for noobs); 2) your computer crashes, internet crashes, etc. Even though those are low-probability events, low probability events eventually will happen.
  18. Occasionally you don't finish the task in one trip, though. IN an ideal world all of us would, but often we don't. Also think of the players who don't have SS/Uni and can't heal like maxed players can. This is exactly the kind of close-mindedness I want to fight against... it's not wrong to be open to new ideas.
  19. Pretty sure I'm not. I just find it funny the lengths people have to go to to justify their crashing (I seriously lol inside every time someone mentions efficiency and fun). At any rate, I like your analogy. If someone is taking too long at the vending machine, push them out of the way. Yeah, that makes sense. It's possible to be a troll without realizing it Also, "rationalization" isn't necessarily bad. The most basic reason people crash is out of what you'll probably call "laziness" - but that's not inherently a bad thing. If it allows more valuable items to be created into the world, why not? It's really just a matter of perception of who "owns" the spot. There aren't a lot of solid reasons why the early bird deserves the spot. The most basic reason is simply convention. Analogy: a big company moves into a small town and outcompetes a small company. The intentions of the big company are to make more money - call this "Greed" if you want. But at the end of the day, society as a whole will prefer that the bigger company stay, rather than the small company. Why? Because the bigger company can offer better things at cheaper prices. At the end of the day, that's a lot more important to people than "politeness". Sidenote: Every dollar you spend at Walmart is a vote of your approval of them. No matter how much you hate their business practices and bad effects on local economies, you are essentially voting for them to stay by buying their products.
  20. Just to nitpick, I think you mean the price is irrelevant. Although you certainly can take into account the cost of losing the ability to merch with the ~20-25m you'd have tied up in the BCP, if you're the type of player who does that. Not in this thread though, as the price, (thanks for correcting) isn't a factor here. Cost and value of time were mentioned numerous times in the original post. Wrong, the price of the gear was NOT mentioned. :S Also you can still flip an item you use, it's just that you won't be able to use it as often.
  21. Windows 7, but how do I check my Java version?
  22. My newly installed RS client (the official one) crashes every hour or so. What can I do to avoid this? It's already the only program running. I already run on minimum settings.
  23. I think you mean: "Flipping an item doesn't mean you can't use it."? So you mean to say you can flip Bandos while using it? No lol. What I mean is that you can own and flip and item and not use it. So you can own Bandos and flip it without using it for slayer. Then how is that relevant to my argument? If you put 45m into buying Bandos, you can't use that same 45m to flip and make money, right? So it's costing you? No, I'm saying being able to flip Bandos has nothing to do with Bandos being useful in combat.
  24. This is why SW cape makes Bandos better I think you mean: "Flipping an item doesn't mean you can't use it."? So you mean to say you can flip Bandos while using it? No lol. What I mean is that you can own and flip and item and not use it. So you can own Bandos and flip it without using it for slayer.
  25. What why don't you just get a maul... also I'm pretty sure rapier would be better Also you can get 100+ charms/hr with a ZS lol This isn't a "pro" thread, lol.
