What's the point of good gear if its just going to sit in your bank at the times when it might make a difference? Most of my good gear is for safe pvp (clan wars), I use really nooby gear at MHing

Things like internet dying, lightning storm, computer crash, all force you to log out (and usually for more than 6 minutes) which can kill you... and they're more or less out of your control.

You're joking, right? You do realize stealing has its own skill? The "thieving" skill and scamming are totally separate... "Thieving" is only nominally related to stealing, it really has nothing to do with stealing because you're stealing from NPC's, not people.

I am fairly convinced that there is a substantial difference between 100 and 115 magic defense. For some reason magic defense is very sensitive to small bonuses.

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
1) Taco limey has a video where he uses chaotic staff. Also if you're maging chaotic staff will likely protect over your other items, so you're not really risking it. 2) 90% of my bank's worth is dedicated to clan war items. 3) Because people enjoy DG and have a bunch of extra tokens, and Chaotic shield ain't that good. Also spirit shields are comparatively cheaper than the DG shields. Arguably better too in certain contexts because of no degrade cost + no negative attack bonuses (FKS has -15 range) By the way I would argue that DFS/Arc/Spec switch (switched well, of course) is stronger than just Ely in PvP contexts, mostly because hitting your barrages and avoiding your enemy's save you a TON of melee damage. Makes you harder to KO with melee + makes it easier for you to KO the other person. One kid I know prefers Arc over Div. Of course a Arc/Div or Arc/Ely switch is clearly better than Arc/Spec/DFS switch, but I'm just putting it out there that it's possible to get something better than a single Ely. Plus the three shields are a lot cheaper (150M for all 3) Arc/Div > Arc/Ely > Arc/Spec/DFS =(depends)= Div > Ely > Arc > Spec > DFS This is obviously for safe PvP...

The delusion of morality is a coping mechanism by which individuals rationalize their fear of punishment/retribution in order to increase their self esteem. There is no such thing as morality. That being said I for the most part follow all laws. One needs only be rational, not "moral", to decide to obey them. That's a pretty cold (not necessarily incorrect) view of morality. I like to think of it more as an unspoken social contract - I won't hurt you if you don't hurt me. In the context of RS, morality still applies, but it is vastly different from morality IRL. Stealing is still bad in RS, but "stealing" someone's monster spawn isn't really stealing at all. It comes down to who has the right to the spot, and I don't think it should be whoever got there first - that's rather arbitrary - but rather who can use the spot to highest utility.

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
5% extra magic damage in PvP is useful. It's not a waste of time to get the chaotic staff.

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
Maybe because in safe pvp you wear better armor :-? Yes but people are claiming that armor doesn't matter and rapier is always better. I don't see anything wrong with the math but just empirically there seems to be something wrong with it.

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
CLS seems to be harder to fight against in safe PvP, just out of subjective observation. I have no numerical proof.

Wait why? Sure, they're entitled to their personal opinions, but if we're arguing for efficiency here, then we have common ground to talk about it rationally. Also @ stonewall: I don't think the onyx(i) makes a substantial difference... and isn't that what's preventing you from keeping your bandos?

I risk 32m at DKS, solo 2.5brid. The increase in kills/trip and kills/hour is worth it IMO. What do you risk that's 32M? I 2.5 brid / tribrid too and I risk 12M & arcstream at worst. My setup is: Rapier/DDS Crossbow SoL + Arcstream Barrows (or Bandos sometimes) top and bottom Obsidian shield Glory for when I'm not using arcstream Btw, I'm sure DDS is about the same as Claws because supreme's defense is so low... I get about 100-120 kills for 2 yaks (or 5 ovl's depending whichever ends first), including banking time. Approximately 40-50% of my kills are Rex, 30% are supreme, and the rest is Prime.

Do you think people risk too much gear at dangerous places? I see people all the time risking chaotic equipment (which I value at 50-100M), or 30M+ gear. Is that risk ever justified, other than just to look cool? For example, I wear a glory at DK's because otherwise fury protects over chaotic rapier. Sure, I'll look a little bit nooby, but I'm willing to sacrifice that to potentially save my rapier. Dying is always possible, no matter how much you safe or how good your computer is.

We already discussed this point but I want to re-emphasize: People have a lot of ways to do make money outside of Bandos, TD's, DK's: -- Frost dragons: 1-2M (up to 3.5M) an hour -- Merching -- Making unf pots: 500K-1M an hour -- Slayer -- Killing dragons -- Lots more Training combat at a good rate requires at most like 5M in gear. Training herblore can be profitable with nightshades and weapon poison++. Training prayer can be free with soul wars. Training summoning can be almost free (or extremely cheap around 2-5gp/xp) if you use the profits from killing waterfiends to pay for your pouches. Training dungeoneering is free. Ironically, Bandos is pretty terrible money even for high levels (TD's, Frosties, and DK's are far better)

Keeping my cool with Jad
Stuff I do IRL to relieve jitters: PRACTICE UNTIL IT BECOMES MUSCLE MEMORY. Take deep, slow breaths. Turn off your brain - train yourself not to think.

Is a Fury really worth the money?
Lolwat. +12 mage bonus is more than the difference between K top/bott and an arma set. Yes I agree 70 Prayer / 69 Summ >> Fury. But why don't you just get 70 Prayer 69 Summ AND a fury? 15M ain't hard to come by nowadays. A poor man's philosophy will keep you poor; don't settle for subpar stuff just cause it's cheaper...
-
Is a Fury really worth the money?
Let me say it this way: If you're not wearing a fury, you're probably a noob.* *exceptions: arcstream, 3rd age amulet, ranging amulet, glory when you're risking 30M+

Wait are you serious. I already told you I haven't been to DK's in like two weeks (other than like an hour ago, but you obviously made that post after an hour ago)... obvious troll is obvious. Also, you seem to think that crashing for your own personal enjoyment / satisfaction is a less brutish / mean thing to do than crashing out of necessity and convenience. A hyperbole would be to say stealing is justified because you enjoy it, but stealing to feed your family isn't.

err. You're cool? who was that even directed to, I havent been to DK's in 2 weeks or so. Also, crashing for fun is kind of... depressing. I don't understand taking pleasure in someone else's annoyance.

Some DKs team came through rock lobs the other day and repetedly killed them and ruined my lures. They were kind of [bleep]s. I got the last laugh though because they were 138s teaming DKs. Teaming is potentially faster kills/hr for each person than soloing depending on world population. To make the most out of DKs you need 95 prayer and 96 summoning and maxed combats (137 right there). I don't see how you got the last laugh unless at the fact that 138s feel the need to be jackasses at rock lobs. in order to be efficient in a 3 man team you need to get 3 times the kills as you would soloing. 180 kills per hour is not possible on any population. There's also such thing as going to DK's for fun

Overloads and Brews
Practice timing your brews so that right after you eat them the overload immediately restores your stats. Also, have a system for counting 5 minutes for each ovl dose. it's really annoying to run out of a ovl in the middle of a kill.

"Most" != "All" However, I have yet to see a maxed player (who regularly MH's) to argue that crashing is bad in every single case.

Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
Again: Maul for Sara, CLS (or Maul if you flick ss) for Bandos, Rapier for Zammy, Black Salamander for Arma (if you really wanted to melee Kree...)

Dungeoneering - Rushing Ettiquette
So this is why 80+ Dg reqs mean nothing at all anymore. Also on good enough teams youre usually so busy that there isn't downtime to skill, other than to alch. Why is rushing stupid..? I'm not gonna take 2 hours on each map like Jagex wants me to when I can just do it in 30 minutes.

Dungeoneering - Rushing Ettiquette
If you are rushing, and dying, you are doing something very very wrong. This. 1. Fishing: 6 2. Cooking food: 7 3. Farming mushrooms: 2-3 4. Crafting ranged/mage armor: 2 5. Farming herbs: 9 6. Mixing melee/defence potions 7. High alching: 10 8. Mining Ores: 2 9. Smelting ores / Smithing armor: 2 10. Thieving chests: 10 11. Crafting combat/Non combat runes: Tele runes: 10+; Alch runes: 10; Others: 1 12. Cutting trees: 6 Pros dont write things down , they memorize. Writing things down gets you in the habit of being conscious of keeping track of doors. Its a good way to ease into the habit of memorizing. Not to self-promote but my guide (see sig) touches on: How not to die, what stuff to do in the DG
