- When you're not PLAYING rs, you're spending a lot of your time looking at fansites and forums about it... Iantiger

I find it hard to believe nowadays that anyone wears there party hat to say "look how long I've been playing" and more like to say "look how sickeningly rich I am" Iantiger

I say well done to them. If enough people had the guts to do this, we could eventually wipe out all of these stupid tradeable-drops that are monopolising the market. It's really not in the spirit of the game, and Jagex did the right thing to stop making them tradeable. Iantiger

Let's try again... Anime..here...talk...awesome?!

Anime? I'd rather watch my own funeral... Iantiger -
Ok several things are not as they should be: - Sigs don't appear - Avatars don't appear - Where somebody is quoting someone else, it just displays the code for the quote tags, with the text in between - Where somebody is putting certain text in bold, or another colour, etc, it just appears as the appropriate tags with the text in between - Again, this is the same for any images posted, I just get the URL in between the IMG tags It was working FINE yesterday and I haven't updated anything (apart from Windows Media Player 10 - can't imagine that would affect it). I'm running Firefox, on WinXP Pro laptop with 60GB HD, 512 Ram, NVidia G-Force FX, and centrino technology. Here's a typical screenshot of what's going on: Thanks for your time. Iantiger

WHEN WILL THE END OF THE WORLD HAPPEN??!!!???!!
Iantiger replied to WHIPTAIL901's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
The only way RS will end will be due to a fatal mistake. There are several ways this could happen: a) Andrew dies and someone inherits Jagex with no ambition and the game dies due to lack of originality. B) Andrew retires (or decides he has a big enough pension to retire early) and passes the reigns onto someone with no ambition... (see a)) c) Andrew himself runs out of fresh material, and the game dies d) Andrew can't keep up with modern games' graphics and the game falls behind the standard resulting in no customers e) Andrew makes a stupid mistake like getting rid of f2p or a similar huge-scale mistake These are the only ways I can see RS ending, and sooner or later, one of them will inevitably happen... nothing lasts forever anyway. Suppose we assume that Runescape is still running in 20 years time. During that time, thousands... no, millions of people will have started Runescape, built up a decent account and then quit (including a lot of really high players like Zezima etc. - Zezima is merely an example in this case). These inactive accounts will be clogging up the hi-scores. If there is someone playing the game with all stats 99, and he or she is currently the best player in Runescape, the hi-scores will tell different and that player might only appear as 5th or 6th behind the other 4 or 5 players that have already achieved 99 in all stats and are better on exp and have since quit the game. If you look even further down the hi-scores, whereas a person may only need 35 mining to appear in the top 500,000 active miners, they instead need a whopping 70 mining merely to appear the in a mass of mainly inactive players. In the worst case scenario, let's assume it's far into the future, many people have made accounts, got to 99 in all stats, and quit. The ENTIRE hi-scores database is filled with inactive 99-accounts. There are NO currently active players in the top 500,000. These places are filled with inactive accounts. Additionally, the players that have quit the game (or even died) DON'T CARE about their accounts any more, so why keep them in the hi-scores. If they start playing again, by all means put them back in the hi-scores, but what's the point clogging them up with accounts nobody gives a dam about? Iantiger

Well I guess it's not bad for the work of a Year 7 :P The one particular bad thing I think you've done is that you've made far too many references to Runescape. Like the bit about Varrock, and Port Sarim, and then you mention Runecrafting with Rune Essences... your teacher will be like: "??? Rune essence what's that? Varrock? Is that a country" You see what I mean? You've made reference to too many RS-related items without explaining or introducing each one properly. Other than that, its better than what I could do in Year 7, Iantiger

What an awesome topic! I know someone who would be one of my 5 people and that's Marlaine Lv100 character we met in the fishing guild, she was afk and died and I picked up her wizard boots. When she returned to the guild a few minutes later she was desperate to get her boots back and was asking around after who had got them. I said I had picked them up and I traded them straight back to her. She was overwhelmed that I had the kindness and kept stressing that so few people would have done what I did. We instantly became friends. And on the flip-side, I would be in Lionheart164's 5 people because she did make a massive impact on me in the game and I realised there are some really nice, genuine people out there. Iantiger

Hmmm I think their combat level might give them away... Ok, and you got that information from where? How do you know each account takes up 1KB? Please don't just make up figures to substantiate a point. Also, the amount of RS players who get called up to the army and don't have access to a PC for 6 months to a year are VERY few. Lastly, don't patronise me, and the majority of these forums by telling us that 1,000KB = 1MB. For a start, it DOESN'T! It's actually 1024KB = 1MB! Thanks, Iantiger

Ah that explains it. But I don't exactly see the point in that. I mean if a player has left the game, what are they going to care if their bank is wiped? It doesn't address the issue of the fictional hi-scores. Iantiger
-
I thought that was the case. But look at tks. She's still in the hi-scores and (unless she logs in now and again for some strange reason) she shouldn't be on those hi-scores at all. I'm sure this is the case for thousands of other inactive accounts. Iantiger
-
But if you quit, you wouldn't really care about your account. Nobody else cares. Jagex certainly doesn't care as it's just taking up space on their servers. So if nobody cares, why keep it? Iantiger
-
Yes this is a good point I forgot to mention for clearing out the accounts altogether. How tired are you of typing in a name for your newly created character to find out that it has already been taken, then looking up on the hi-scores to find that it isn't even in the hi-scores (obviously the owner got bored and left the game). Iantiger
-
I think that Jagex should clean out some of the really old runescape accounts, or at the least remove them from the hi-scores tables. The whole point of the hi-scores is to judge how good your character is compared to other players in the game, and if there are all these accounts that aren't used to play anymore, it's not a very good indicator of how good a player is. For example, someone who is 10,000th in woodcutting, might actually be 5,000th or higher. The longer this goes on, the less accurate the hi-scores are going to get, as more and more players make great characters, before quitting Runescape altogether. What do you think? Thanks, Iantiger

Absolutely agree. If anyone remembers my character Omegawrayth (I wrote a journal back on the old forums detailing my progress), I had to work INSANELY hard to get into the mining guild. I was mining iron in SE varrock mine and it was unbelievably jam-packed with all these high levels. Nobody is going to hand anything to you on a plate... go and break your back and work for it. Runescape Lovers in Real life (updated 31.03.05)!!
Iantiger replied to Fighter_MV's topic in General Discussion
As comic book guy from the simpsons would say... Best Thread Ever These are brilliant keep up the good work guys! -
Hehe that's pretty dam funny! Just shows that the standards of customs is slipping. I think this should be on the Media board though  Thanks, Iantiger

I didn't think that was fair how you flamed him because of his "appearance" and his intelligence. Also you should leave your sister alone. She needs to learn her mistakes firsthand rather than have a meddling younger brother telling her what's right and what's wrong and controlling her life.

Some people are naturally talented, but as zonor said, those skills need developing in school, and you also need the other subjects incase your first career plan fails, at least you have something to fall back on. I don't think you're old enough to appreciate how important school is. I'm 17, I'm in my last year at college and I'm going to University next year. I live in the UK where compulsory school stops at 16. Some children never get the oppurtunity to go to school and would do anything to be in the position of someone who can. Also the thing about "respect"... That is what you should worry about least. In the long run (a few years down the line) respect counts for nothing, whilst education will last your whole lifetime. Although it does help if you do get respect as a bonus, but you should always put your education before your social life. Thanks Iantiger

I've got a black pure named Sweetparis and Lion told me that was the coolest name in Runescape.

Here goes... Iantiger was born and raised by tigers. One day it was time for him to fly the nest (or the tiger equivalent). He made contact with human civilization and adopted the human name Ian as a prefix in-front of the word tiger to make him feel less outcast from the other humans. One of his favourite hobbies was killing stuff. Then one day he found a game on his PC called Runescape and started to play it.

Hmmm would be better suited to Varrock Library methinks
