Coupled with the fact that he/she didn't even use the full word and just the starting letter, I don't see that it's that much of a problem. Imps frequently teleport, so it's not unknown for them to teleport to places which are otherwise inaccessible to the average Runescaper. At christmas there was a huge number of topics about this when the Christmas Imps were teleporting in and around Varrock Bank and into the Falador wall etc. Use the search button I'm sure you'll find literally hundreds of topics. ~Ian

Great idea, but as Bubsa said I've seen it crop up before. I'm definitely in favour of this. It would be awesome to try and get a very rare Zezima rune scimitar... the problem is nobody would believe you and you would have to keep trading with various people so they could examine it for themselves in the trade screen. ~Ian

If that wasn't enough, I also have 74 mining on that guy, and I banked all the iron which went a long way to making some nice money. Actually that's true. When I first joined the tip it forums a couple of years back, one of the first things I did (because I was a nub I guess), was to go through the general forum and I started copying and pasting the topics including every post within them into a word document. For arguments sake lets say you need 47 quest to get the hero quest, and some1 with 38 does the quests and gets 47, then gets the hero quest and all is well. But in the meantime some1 with 41 already, does maybe 2 of the three new ones and gets 47 points and gets the hero quest without actually doing all the quests. Is it really right to let them do it without doing all quests, while other people have to? OR, is the system programmed to just read the list of completed quests and acknowledge the fact that all are completed and let you do the final one? Just wondering which way it's done or if it's some type of bug that may want to be worked out BEFORE we have another problem on our hands. If I remember correctly, when the points were converted from Influence to Quest, some people had to do quests over again because of lost information or soemthing and it may have caused a discrepency in some people's score. It may be possible that even though somebody has completed all quests, that they can still do one of them over again to get the full 41. Maybe I'll experiment a little and see if it lets me restart any of the quests. OR, It may also be possible that it has nothing to do with the conversion, but maybe a bug in a quest that you were able to repeat and gain extra points when it was first released, resulting in the 41. I really have no clue. I'm amazed how far some people are way off the mark... Probability can be applied to almost every aspect of life. Also, a computer CANNOT generate purely random numbers, but it can approximate to this by simulating a random number - it does this by seeding the random number generator (usually with the time on the system clock). In code form it would look something like this: srand(Time=NULL); Obviously the syntax varies from language to language. Moving on, as some people have correctly stated, killing a monster is like rolling a dice with many sides. Let's say a dust devil is a dice with 6,000 sides. The item "60 Coins" are perhaps on 1,500 sides of the dice - this is the value that Jagex hardcode into the code - they could easily alter it to any value of their choosing. This means there is a 1,500/6,000 chance of getting one. 1,500/6,000 cancels down to: 1/4 (basic fraction simplification) In other words the chance of getting the item "60 coins" from each dust devil is 25%, but if Jagex changed the hardcoded value of 1,500 to, for example, 750, the item is now twice as rare, and hence the chance of getting it is 1/8 or 12.5%. ~Ian

Thankfully I sold my two rares (Green Mask and Santa) when the prices peaked at 10 and 8 mil respectively. Now I'm proudly the owner of full infinity + mage book + master wand... in my eyes a safe bargain. Prices for those items are pretty stable. The best purchase I've ever made I think... I posted this topic at about 5 PM. 5PM is AFTER 12PM... 12PM is midday (I know it should be 12AM because it goes 10AM, 11AM... 12PM <---- wdf?!) - and traditionally (but who really cares about tradition) april fools should be carried out before midday. Good to see that Tip It times is still producing the odd article which Jagex MAY view as critical of their services (which you have every right to do might I add). I don't think I'm alone when I say that when the article of a few weeks back was removed from the archives, I feared that every article thereafter would be biased and "sucking-up" to Jagex as you tried to keep in Andrew's good books. But no - I've been proven wrong which is good, because criticism is the first step to improvement. Great article too :) On a side note, can you get Duke to write another one please? His articles are fantastic and I love reading about his predictions for the future prices of rares, and so-forth. ~Ian

Agreed, mostly this bf-gf stuff is stupid... but sometimes, if a male and female are getting on really well in RS, they really like each other's personalities, and so forth, they may decide to start "going out" with each other or even "marry". After all, people chop virtual wood in this game, they mine virtual rocks, they fish virtual fish, so why shouldn't they marry virtual people? :) But I definitely agree that people who just go "Anyone want a gf?" are almost guaranteed guys irl (or perhaps slappers :? ), and have no motives other than free stuff. ~Ian

OoC will always be the number 1 cult, and nothing will change that. Especially not a bunch of wannabes who can't even come up with something REMOTELY original... Collecting 1 million of a certain item... ok so it's not original, but it's still a good idea. I remember some guy was trying to collect 1 million stews!
