  1. Nope, naughties as in naughty, it's supposed to be a play on words, the original is aught(ie)s, which comes from an old English word for zero. Though I'm guessing some people might be meaning a 0 (in which case it's noughties), the one with an a is all about how "naughty" this decade was (but like someone pointed out, there have been naughtier lol)

Yeah, I don't really understand the difference between so called expensive and cheaper ones, except maybe durability (as in, they don't tear as fast or something), though I don't think people use their cables in an oven while throwing scissors at it. Also, is your TV Full-HD or HDReady? I remember FullHD means you could go up to 1080p and HDReady (what I have) goes up to 1080i. The difference is in the letter.

Wow, that's [cabbage]. I just bought a random HDMI cable for my PS3 and it works fine. Are you sure you need an MS one?
  4. To bump it for the last time, lol, I didn't even realize the posts were from 2005, I remember Tomato coming back but recognized no one else lol.
  5. As the purpose of language is to facilitate communication, that is, the conveyance of meaning, then it is the speaker's responsibility to ensure that the words they use communicate the ideas that they wish to communicate. There is no reason not to take language seriously when there is a chance that people will misinterpret your ideas. Among friends who are accustomed to speaking to each other, miscommunication isn't a huge issue, but ideas must be presented with clarity when talking to other people. Incidentally, there is an idea which comes up in linguistic philosophy that suggests that it is impossible for listeners to understand what a speaker wishes to communicate via language, as there will always be a discrepancy between how the listener decodes and interprets words, and what the speaker thinks their words actually mean. Incidentally, fix your spelling, OP. I agree on everything, but what's up with the Ph.D like language? And I still don't really get the problem. You explained to him where the word heracy comes from, as in you explained its origin, but the person you explained it to flipped over the meaning of marriage? Or did he get mad over the meaning of heracy, that you were somehow not taking it seriously by explaining its origin. And come on man, it's marriage, not marridge... What in the world are you smoking? He didn't use a single word that the common, educated person wouldn't understand. It sounds like the person who got angry was religious and felt that by undermining the negative connotation of the word 'heresy,' the OP was somehow justifying the rejection of religion. Sounds like it was probably an extremely annoying conversation. It's also 'heresy,' not 'heracy.' I knew I spelled it wrong, just had no idea how else to spell it. And it's not like I didn't understand him, it's just that he seemed to be picking the longest words he can find to say something that could've been said in a simpler way. But yeah, it probably was an annoying conversation.
  6. Why reply then? OT: I think my Firefox is having the same problem, but it doesn't really affect me since I never actually close Firefox. But yeah, I think it's an issue with the Beta, it's still a Beta after all.
  7. 5/10. More if I knew where it came from or stuff like that.

  9. Oh man, I'm in love with Demolition now, got a great class for it (that I'll miss when I prestige again in 5 levels) and I got a few Harriers and a CG in just a few games, and almost always had most kills. Closest I came to a nuke was 11 killstreak, saving up my CG for the next round, died with about 10 secs left. It was on Invasion though, so the CG didn't get me a lot of kills. My class is ACR Holographic, .44 Magnum Tactical Knife (which I whip out to just knife the [cabbage] out of the enemy team sometimes), Marathon Pro, Lightweight Pro, Commando Pro, Painkiller, stun grenades, throwing knifes (really good in combination with the tactical knife). Can you believe that in that whole class, the only thing that was also in CoD4 are the stun grenades? Really shows you how many new things they added to MP.

  11. At least the dad didn't give her another 50. Then she'd be really screwed.
  12. Damn it, I knew something was off with my naming it naughts, it's aughts lol. I got it from that topic, it was the one that sounded least [developmentally delayed]ed. BTW, Cracked owns. Cracked owns wooo! I prefer naughties to aughties. for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that it just sounds right, aughties sounds unatural. The second reason is that it sounds like eightys and the third its not a play on words lol. I think someone should start a thread about cracked, so many people love it. I bet quite a few love it on this forum also. We should call it the bush years, lol. Its like the equivelant of saying. "For 10 years the manic overlord ruled over america with an iron fist, destroying any country that had WMD's or oil" lol. Its just so.... comparing bush to skeletor. Meh, I'll just call it naughts/aughts, I don't like the -ies suffix either way, but naughts is just a bit easier to pronounce. Also, I don't think you're allowed to make a topic about Cracked since it's 1) a website 2) low discussion value.
  13. It does piss me off when I think I've knifed someone but they end up shooting me (also, lrn2knife to those people lol). But well, it's part of the game.

  15. Pff, people are saying nukes flood in after getting one, but the most I've managed since my nuke was Harrier >.< My KDR's been going down since 1.46, it's at 1.30 last time I checked.
  16. I didn't know him, neither did I listen to A7x, but it's always sad if someone dies young, so RIP.
  17. I do that =/ I just don't like pissing beside other men, is it such an issue? I'm trying to get over it, but meh, if there are stalls free, why not use them? Also, if I do piss and I'm near someone, usually it doesn't really come out, so I stand there without any sound, kinda looking [developmentally delayed]ed. Another reason for me to use the stalls.
  18. Uhm, to above, the second millenium actually only started 2001. Same goes for decades, so yeah, technically speaking, we're still in the naughts. Forgot the exact explanation though.
  19. I don't get the problem, you explained the origin of a word, and this guy went crazy about you not respecting justice?
  20. Wow, thanks, that looks great.

It works. Just don't panic and pull back at all, otherwise you'll get a mouth full of blood and won't be able to taste much for a while. And yes, this is speaking from personal experience. (Hey, I was six, cut me some slack.) I know the breath thing works because I've had friends who've managed to do it, and even I might have done it, I can't remember. I hear you can also get some warm water, that's how the fire station people do it. Wow, I'd rather stay stuck to the pole than having a fire squad come and save me...
  22. The naughts or double-o's. But yeah, there is a lot of debate and most names just sound ridiculous tbh lol

  24. All challenges reset when you prestige except for the ones that glow green (which only become available after prestiging once.)
