  1. Interesting. I've not seen this before anywhere and I typically just thought that calculators were slightly inaccurate when I used them. I was still going by the RSWiki figures, which is unsurprisingly inaccurate I suppose.
  2. I'm not sure what relevance this has to anything and it could be a plethora of reasons why he might be praying melee and using a bunyip. Back OT, I'd say just ice barrage or fire surge all the melee brothers (use corners of coffins for safespots) and then claw/DDS spec Karil and Ahrim. I don't know how good black salamanders are anymore, but I'd imagine they're inferior to just straight up maging them. I'm actually interested in this myself so when I eventually start doing barrows runs in the future I'll be trying a few different setups. My melees aren't at all near maxed so mage might be the better option for the foreseeable future.
  3. How are you so sure of this? From casting spells without any other boosts on?
  4. Yes, they boost magic/ranged accuracy and damage by 15%, respectively.
  5. They could probably also very easily just grab your name if you're hanging around a high traffic area, like the GE.
  6. Chipped home tab to Brim house portal and Tai Bwo Wannai scroll would be absolute fastest.
  7. Dang it, I hate cooking.
  8. So I have 3 of them to 99, the medium mage guy at mid 80s, the healer/emote girl at 40, and the aggro grandpa at 1. I'm currently grind my way through to 99 for all of them, but after that I intend on still trekking for: 1. Full lumberjack if by the time I get to 99 with all of them I don't have it yet (only boots so far) 2. Talon beast charms 3. Vyre corpses 4. Good xp rewards, since I value pretty much all of them quite highly except for FM and maybe WC. Leveling the mage dude should be straightforward from where I am now. I've read that for the two hard NPCs, I should just rush easy/mediums since they do like no damage. Is this optimal? As for actually getting XP rewards, who would be the best to bring along? I feel it's either one of the easy NPCs or the ranger from Burgh. I would assume that I just go for hard paths every time.
  9. Torstol seeds dropped proportionally, so it's actually about the same. Not quite. The break even point (ignoring scroll of life) is still ~8 herbs per patch. Every herb after that, you used to profit 40-50k per herb. Now it's only 23ish.
  10. Well that's another thing that has somewhat changed; temple trekking and BXP hoarding pretty much halved the price of torstols, meaning potential profits are lower than before.
  11. In their minds: 1. Bandos gives str, when most other bodies don't (Torsos are a popular choice too) 2. Ring of Wealth makes you rich beyond your wildest imagine and it costs like nothing! (Actually with my friend getting some stupid amount of addy bars and torstols from drops, I'm starting to believe this myself) 3. Barrows degrades. Repair costs are too high and way to inconvenient to keep repaired. I can sort of see why the Fury wasn't picked up before when it was as high as 20m on the street, but 7m really is quite reasonable for all the bonuses it offers.
  12. He's only been gone 3 months. Livid farm has been around since April. Farming may also be grindable, but the rate something pitiful like 30-40k/h.
  13. What about on extremely high defence monsters like mithrils? Or do other accuracy bonuses typically suffice?
  14. We also got a new batch of Loyalty Programme Rewards, most of which are still not worth getting.
  15. Yes chaotic rapier is significantly better than the whip, w/ or w/o the vine. There are also a bunch of worthwhile dg rewards if you intend on ever skilling. If you don't them already, pick up some claws for speccing while training. Assess what you want to eventually do. If you have bossing on your mind, you'll definitely want to consider 88+ Summoning for uni 95 prayer for turmoil/ss 91+ herblore for exts/ovls Personally, I think prayer should be your primary goal since you seem to like to focus on melee, but getting summoning up to at least 68 will give you access to many useful familiars (terrorbird, war tort, and bunyip)
  16. Costing ~15gp and healing 70 lp, trouts are probably the best food to use with the stats shown. Next step up would probably be lobster.
  17. Glory -> Fury (~6.8m) Dragon boots -> Steadfast boots (~7.7m GE, no idea of street) If you don't have a fire cape, get that Aside from that, there isn't much else you can improve without doing quests, slaying to level 80, or dg'ing.

So basically I'm going to try and infer as much as possible from a guide I read/what lots of friends say and I have no first hand experience at killing them. Given your circumstances, I would say you should fire surge them with: Void Mage Hat Ahrim's Top Arc Stream Ardy Cape 3 SoL Deflector Void Gloves Void Elite Bottoms Best Mage boots you can afford Wealth/Seer's Ring/RoL If you're not confident on the first few runs, try tankier gear consisting of: Ahrim's hood Verac Brassard Verac Plateskirt Arc Stream Ardy Cape 3 Best Mage boots you can afford Wealth/Seer's Ring/RoL One of the Sacred Clay Shields/Blessed Spirit Shield/Unholy Book EDIT: Ignore post as DarkDude has actually done them :P
  19. This guide in the AoW breaks down many methods for all the skills. It also offers some other tips that might prove helpful.
  20. The main thing I see is that blisterwood weapons are already pretty damn strong against vyres when they cost about nothing and giving it much more power would necessarily send them through the roof. Like I've seen people training in elite void with turm/exts and they hit massively. With a super close bank and altar, it might not be dharoking monkeys, but it's super safe, accessible, and still seems fast.
  21. Ranged slaying with void is still reasonable on low defence monsters.
  22. That's odd. Whenever I do it, they just go up to me and say that Vanes-w/e's influence doesn't protect me there. Also a little annoying how there are so many different kinds of corpse.
  23. I like Pendulum. They're really the only exposure I've had to DnB. Some people will argue that only some of their early stuff was good, but I think their newer releases are decent.
  24. Xerath so fun. Also that joke.avi.
  25. I wanted to kill them in Void gear, so I guess I'll kill them in Burgh if they're close enough. I'm also doing some treks so I'm getting a few from there. Just getting the permadruid pouch for the time being before I start directly farming the vyres. Next Quest: Attach Flail to Polearm = Super dual-headed spear/flail thing :)
