2011 Golden Joystick Awards
Tanks are also cool And if you compare strictly the F2P content of WoT and RS, I'd say WoT has the edge at least in my opinion.

soo mud runes?
All resources have been hoarded because of the bot nuke announcement. Just wait a month or two when the botters circumvent the measures to start buying again.

Adventuring the 'unplayable' F2P
Are you going to edit all of these into the first post? Still solid so far

21-Oct-2011 - Bot-Busting and Bonuses For All
We saw that with the removal of free trade. The reality is that it will allow people without access to amazing money makers like bossing still make decent money through dragons/mid level farming/etc. I for one don't care if the bots stay or go with this update. I just like the reward days.

Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
I know I legitimately voted for LoL because I enjoyed the free aspect of the game a lot more than the free aspect of RS. Frequent content updates that could be inevitably be accessed by free players, although either through random chance or a medium long grind beats out the however long F2P RS has gone with an actually decent content update. If RS was instead entered as a paid subscription game, I would have voted for it over WoW because I don't like WoW as a game, even if Blizzard might be considered a better company.

2011 Golden Joystick Awards
Simply put, the rewards from LoL or WoT seemed to be a lot more enticing than the speculated cosmetic golden scythe.

Temple Treking/ Burg de rott updating info
I think I'm going to make an AoW that covers strategies more in-depth and the rewards. I'm nearing 99 with all followers now (like 20 total levels left) and at that point I'll start experimenting with rewards and and clear times. Anyone think they would be interested in helping out with data and the like?

Hmm, I think it's time to invest my paltry 12 mil into resources.

2011 Golden Joystick Awards
Based purely on the F2P experience Positive Things Riot has done for LoL Recently: -offered champion concepts that were requested by community (female tank, male ranged AD) -lowered in-game currency prices of numerous previous champs -introduced a new gamemode -offered blind draft and then kept it around at the request of the community Positive Things Wargaming.net has done for WoT Recently: -lol I dunno, I played the game during beta and the grind for better tanks was annoying then even with free premium status -tanks are cool Positive Things Jagex has done for RS Recently: -???

Which is why their prices were only halved and not quartered like snaps :P

21-Oct-2011 - Bot-Busting and Bonuses For All
My guess is they're changing how game item IDs will be working in-game, making bots that read them useless for the time being. If this is the case, there should be zero effect on legitimate players. The slayer XP sounds nice, but we'll see how much time I have to actually slay. I'm pretty stoked for pengs and getting potentially 3x the points. I may finally play a game of soul wars too.

WOOOOO! 10-win IP boost, here I come! Jagex can suck it. I do however like P2P though.

Farming torstols with jujus
Major causes for overall price drops of herbs from what I can see: 1. Sorceress's Garden 2. Temple Trekking 3. BXP Hoarding/Dumping 4. Rare Drop Table Update

Nothing comes even remotely close.

[VIDEO] Professional F2P Looting - 3/5Mil/Hour
I feel like returning to bank more often would mean that you either have to risk higher amounts each time or waste time running back and forth so often, meaning more loot is left to other players or the war just ends.

Farming torstols with jujus
I believe the average number of herbs you get, with deaths, is around 8.5 or something. I'll also assume that you have scroll of life, so take 10% off seed cost. With current prices, on average, you'll make about 40-50k per patch which works out to be 200-250k profit a run. Still quite worth it, but not quite as much as it was before.

Frost dragons have a new attack (gf bots for a week or two)
Seems like I have to point this out once a week, but even if a computer can't solve a captcha, you can outsource the solving. http://www.deathbycaptcha.com http://decaptcher.com Considering most bots cost around $10-15 dollars most bot users would easily pay $2 to instantly skip every captcha they receive for weeks. Assuming 1 captcha every hour and the bot active 24/7 it would cost $2 to cover 41 days. Bots do slayer and bots do treasure trails, so why would this stop them in any way? The problem with outsourcing here is that I think it would be somewhat cumbersome to implement as RS is a Java application, not just a simple form. That is of course not to say that it wouldn't be impossible. I don't really know how current bots work, but a person paid for a bot could just have it running and whenever a captcha comes up, a remote desktop connection could be opened up for these outsourced captchas, solved, and then the connection closed immediately there after. I guess I also failed to really think about how most randoms are in essence captchas. Sure not in the traditional sense that you have to type in words or whatever, but trying to match or identify rotating objects is basically the same idea. Although I'm sure bots have also been made to circumvent them, it's actually interesting from a programming aspect how they manage to do it. Not my area of expertise, but interesting nonetheless. In the end by its very nature, RS is always going to be botted in one form or another in high numbers. The game's attraction is primarily based on doing the same task over and over and unless you can change the game fundamentally and still keep customers, bots are here to stay.

Anyone hacked lately?
Unless of course the email you used on a Runescape-related forum was obtained in a DB dump when the site was hacked.
-
Frost dragons have a new attack (gf bots for a week or two)
I feel like really hard to read captchas are about the only thing Jagex could do to really stem the tide of bots, as was done with sleeping bags. But that would also be intensely annoying for legitimate players, as we also saw with those things.

Adventuring the 'unplayable' F2P
This reminds me of those nostalgic days when I played this game for fun

Range void actual effects? (It's clearly not 10%.)
It's believed that the 10% accuracy is actually just 10% ranged levels, which in itself would give a damage boost. The 10% damage boost then stacks with these hidden levels, giving a 1.21 multiplier.

Herb
I think summoning costs around 5gp/xp, but it's highly dependent on the charms and types of familiars you're making.
-
Anyone hacked lately?
I would assume a person either organizing or ordering the phising. Or just some random email.

17 October 2011 - Deathcon II (Halloween 2011)
Ah, but you see the catch there is that you have to play GOP. Also this is only 1 bank slot opposed to many and can also be worn. On your head. And it eats things.

Golden/Holiday Scythe Discussion
I have holiday scythe. I do not care if another scythe gets released as long as it's not identical looking and also if they improve scythe animations/hold poses in general. I don't even if the new one has a good emote to go with it. My reaper costume is pretty much complete and a golden scythe would not make it any better.
