God hates fags? AKA Homosexuals?
*cricket chirping* 1:30AM, not surprising. That's basically how the Church goes through the thought process though. They read something in the Bible, pull some crazy non sequitur out of it, and thus gain the belief that God hates homosexuals. It's a good thing pretty much no churches or pastors that I know of actually agree with that opinion of the Catholic Church... On the other hand, it's kind of a safety procedure for the Church. Thay can say God hates homosexuals, and then later decide that God doesn't- everyone would definitely be fine with that. But if they started out by saying that God loves homosexuals, and then switch over to God hating them, well, that's not going to go over well for church attendance...

God hates fags? AKA Homosexuals?
And God said, "Be fruitful and multiply." And the Church said, "Holy crap, God must hate homosexuals!" And everyone else said [to the Church leaders], "Holy crap, you're all morons!" Thus it is written.

That's just subconcious, non-harmful discrimination. No, discrimination doesn't have to have a negative connotation, contrary to popular belief. So no, you're not evil for having preferences in the women you like  . And knives, I dunno, maybe all talk-show hosts are like this, but he seriously seems like he has no morals whatsoever o_O.

But there point is that those morals would be subjective, not objective, morals, and thus fairly worthless. God, theoretically, is the source of absolute morals. We are sources of subjective morals. Feel free to correct me if I didn't understand your points; I'm not speaking for them, just interpreting.

When is your Birthday?
Is it just me, or do we hand everything out on this forum spare only our pictures  ? No offense in any way, I just can't wait for the "what's your Social Security Number?" thread.

Have a paradox?
^See, but for that theory to be correct ("we couldn't kill our parents", "we would then go back and time and grow up") we would have to have no free will. Something would have to gain control of our body and force us not to do those actions, which is proposterous. It's like a step up from destiny- you would have to lose any and all ability to make choices. Oh, and isn't there some theory against being able to meet yourself?

The 'Official' "I think Religion/Agnosticism is bunk" thread
In the words of Fullmetal Alchemist Edward Elric, stop hiding behind that religious crap, especially all those trite, random biblical saying you seem to like to throw in to make yourself look more "holy" or some other crud like that. You yourself admitted (I believe) that you cannot know what's true and what isn't and yet you seem so hidebound in your belief that the Bible has to be true, has to be Divine Word. What if it isn't? What will you do then? It seems like every opinion you've ever had on this forum is based solely on the premise that the Bible is Divine Word, which isn't exactly agreed upon by the general populace. Base your opinions on the world around you, not some random belief.

Who is Jesus?
In bio class? Why? Sorry that just seems wierd to me. My teacher is a devout Catholic, and I go to a Catholic High School. He makes us pray for the first 5-10 minutes of class, then gets mad at us for "being too slow" on our labs  . And Sere, a couple teaches my class. They take turns each quarter  .
-
Who is Jesus?
GOD I have to recite that every day at the beginning of Bio class... I'm frikking forced to lie through 9/10ths of it... Maybe the Church thinks that if we say it enough, we'll be brainwashed to believe what we say is true :-k .

The 'Official' "I think Religion/Agnosticism is bunk" thread
It's a simple book made for us to be able to understand the concept of God and his message. A book made by man. What, you think you understand God just because you read the Bible? This infinite being, who exists beyond the physical world of humans, is that simple? Lol. [Oh, and it's a Tip.it April Fools Joke :P]

Tigra, just don't bother retaliating, it doesn't look very good (no matter how stupid your opponent is or appears to be) :P . I.e., saying you studied the martial arts for years, no matter how true it is, holds little bearing on an internet forum :P . As for confessions? Hm, well, I hate parties :-w . Too noisy and cramped for me.

The Future of Religion
Ugh -.- . I never tried to say your belief was wrong, I was just stating my opinion about what happens when we die :| . Fine, I'll break up your first argument for you: I already mentioned how our attachment to these bodies detaches us from that energy, dulling our senses towards it. God's omnipresent dude. See above. Who's to say whether this energy think, loves, or cares, or not? Huh? That doesn't prove your belief in any way. It just proved that Christianity got lots of power and expanded very far. Personal opinion. I don't need to conform to someone elses belief to have an opinion.

The Future of Religion
 Angry and peeved? This came from where? I'm merely saying that you're basically stating "my belief trumps yours", and using martyrs to support your opinion, which is completely illogical. Huh? I think most of Christianity is crap, and I see the Bible as nothing more than your average moral guidebook. Question things, don't just accept something as "complete truth", especially when it's man-made. I didn't accuse you of anything! I just stated that you can't use your belief to say mine is wrong, that gets us nowhere. And c'mon, don't start out by insulting me, and then accuse me of making this a non-friendly debate. Okay, but might I remind you, in the words of Mark Twain: "Christinity was a great idea. Too bad no one's ever tried it."
-
The Future of Religion
But you're assuming you're correct as your basis to prove me wrong. Which is completely illogical. Just because you personally think a Christian God exists doesn't mean it does. Your martyr point also serves no purpose in this debate. As for this opinion, it is a personal hypothesis, not some "world religion".

The Future of Religion
Out of curiosity, when did George Bush use teh Bible to justify his actions? I don't remember this... Also, you have to remember, Muslims believe basically that teh Christian is a dog and worthy of death. And they would massacre all Christians given a chance. Also, it is not a sin to lie to a non-Muslim, and it is not a sin to murder a non-muslim. These are teh beliefs of teh muslims that are causing teh trouble in teh middle east. I'm pretty sure teh crusades were justified, and it wasn't just muslims who were teh victims, teh crusaders did suffer cruelties as well. teh Inquisition was teh answer to teh Protestant movement, it was not inspired by teh Bible, they just said that something was there that wasn't, those who are not saved do that a lot you know... just 4 they're own evil desires. teh Bible is an inanimate object, anyone can use it. I have no answer 4 teh Klu Klux Klan and Hitler, teh two different organizations/people are just bad people, maybe even demon possessed. Hitler was almost definitely. teh klu Klux Klan can't even spell "clan" right, I truly doubt any of them ever read teh Bible through. I have a question to those who are not religious, where do you think you will go and how do you know? I believe that when I die, I'll become unified with a universal "spiritual" energy, "God" if you must. I believe that when we are born we become slightly detached from this energy, thus gaining a form of self-conciousness (sp?), but we become a part of that energy again when we die. "One with God." You know that light we see when we die? Ya, that's the spiritual energy that we can finally see once we've been detached from our bodies :-w . Anyways, I "know" this no more than any religious organization "knows" what's going to happen. Just because a religion said it doesn't mean it's any more valid an opinion :-w .

Whats With This New Game...Real Life?
Pfft, you're Level 17, and you can drink in one level? I'm level 17 as well, but on my server I've got to wait another four frikking levels to get a drop of beer... on the upside, I can go sacrifice myself pointlessly killing, shooting, and fighting players on another server in only one level! CS sucks here. And yes, the average IQ at General P2P isn't spectacular :-w . Kinda makes me wish I had taken back what I said before...

Want to do it together? Partners in crime. :P Meh, it's not the crime :P , it's just I've done a bit of Parkour, Gymnastics, and Tricking training, and I'd love to try it out :P . I can jump down 10 steps down the stairs at once, working on 15 if it's possible :-w .

Dagannoth Kings Luring: Illegal!
Well, okay, guess that means nothing's going to change. Muggi, I can see what you're saying- your points are optomistic, mine are pessimistic (worse case vs. "best" case). If at any time reporting in the Lair becomes practical, I'm sure that the Lair's going to be somewhere between your and my predictions.

The Future of Religion
You misunderstood my question. I believe God is the ultimate cause of our existence. You believe that God is just my way of filling in holes of ignorance that scientific phenomena will replace when we fully understand it. Don't give me an example that pertains to Roman theology, because I didn't ask about Roman theology. I asked about my belief that God is the ultimate cause of our existence. Give me an example of any scientific phenomena that when fully understandable, replaces my explanation that God as the ultimate cause.. Well, once you get into "does God exist?", we'll just end with another 73 page debate that goes no where. Science is never going to be able to disprove that God, or gods, exist- I already said that. I just said we can explain those things that religion just doesn't desire to explain and just says "God did it." Anyways, I was referring to Barihawk's points of things seeming "perfect", when they both really aren't and are still explainable through science.

Agility, who likes to train it?
speaks the one with 99 ranged and magic... or have you bought magic? It's funny how magic and range involve killing tough monsters, and thus a level of excitement, while agility involves running around in circles for hundreds of hours. Think before you insult people.

The Future of Religion
What's an example of scientific phenomena that we fully understand that has filled the holes of ignorance and replaced my explanation that God is the ultimate causality? How 'bout Roman theology? People never understood why volcano's erupted and spewed lava across the lands, so they said a god did it. That god may still exist, but we understand why volcano's erupt, making the idea of that god existing less sound as a belief.
