  1. #*&$ Got to go to work -_-. I'll give ya the extended response later as to why I don't believe there's much, if any, effect on general prices by the increase in the money supply in Runescape. In the mean time, can you dig up that data for this statement:? I'm not and never have been an avid player, so I may have missed such prices fluctuations, so if you should show me them it would help me understand your argument better :) .
  2. Major flaw: Prove to me that gold supply, when above a level at which it can act as a unit of account (i.e., eliminates the need for commodity money), causes inflation in Runescape as it increases. This isn't RW economics, this is Runescape. When people put money into their RSbanks, it's not the same as putting it into a real bank- it not only does not exponentially increase the money supply, but by being stored away it is essentially taken out of the economy. In real life, banks loan out this money, which gets spent and put into other banks, and loaned out again, and spent, and loaned, etc.... new dollars end up going pretty far in the real world market. Basically, in real life there are maybe 250B dollars in circulation, but trillions of dollars are in the economy. How? Simply, the way the banking system works. Does Runescape have this? No. New money doesn't go very far in this game. In fact, there could be a couple 100 trillion gp in the game, but because of savings, people quitting, and losses of gp, there could essentially be only a trillion or two in circulation. The complete opposite of the real world money supply. So again, not only prove to me that an increase in GP would increase prices (because I have never seen this happen in this game in my life- people just store away extra cash), but also show to me how your MA in economics can really help you when it comes to understanding such an alien economy as that of Runescape. The amount of money added to the game by alching and this addition are magnitudes higher than what Construction currently takes out. It's not even worth considering Construction when it comes to inflation, it does so little.
  3. Then I suppose that's simply a difference of opinion. I'm not sure if this is warri0r's opinion; I am merely speaking for myself when I say that I believe the universal to be far more valuable than the individual when it comes to "proving" something. There's also a difference of opinion in that I find the universal to be inspiring, meaningful, and engaging, while you find the individual to harbor those qualities :P .
  4. Have fun living in a shell, Hermit.
  5. College application essays. Must... burn...

    My legs.
  8. I'm still trying to figure out how the heck he was driving to do that, even with the explanation.
  9. Your plan to make space is to get rid of golf courses  ? [Do you have any idea how big this country is, how much extra space we got? Land ain't exactly the problem here, bub -_-'.] But if it was, good luck trying to pull an idea like that off. /sarcasm
  10. Try Japan. Same size as California with over a dozen times the population. That place is crowded as hell.
  11. Not sure you're getting the whole "final year of High school" thing right dude :P .

Hit? Paperclips. Well, a lot of people actually, but that's just off the top of my head. Kiss? Hm... Sumpta :P . Miss? :-k I'll try and bullet-point it; warri0r- reasons stated. Korskin- one of the few guys on the religious side of the arguments that I actually like to talk with on the topic. Bubsa- one-liners. Goddess- someone to shut down all the morons who think they understand psychology, while still somehow being nice about it. Satenza- old buddeh; think I already miss him, don't see 'im much :( . assassin- just... because. Sumpta- love her posting style : . Solidus- not so much in the OT, but I'd miss him from other boards. An'... I love the rest of you as well, just got lazy half-way through the list ^_^'.
  13. I've always had subSilver, so I tried all the others after reading this thread to see how they looked. I nearly puked on half of them, and almost went blind looking at most of the rest. subSilver it is.
  14. It's the repeated use of statements like these on this thread that make one realize that this is a gaming forum for twelve-year olds.
  15. Jumping to condemning conclusions for the win! /sarcasm Just assuming the General Tip.iter stereotype off his post : . ($50 says that if I asked him who K'ung Fu-tzu was, he'd have no idea). Sure told us why, didn't ya. If the god exists, then explain why the infants die at birth, what did they do to deserve death so quickly, and why didn't god do something? By the way I seriously cba to argue about something so obvious, it's like arguing about whether the world is flat or not. Genius! I am now enlightened! There really can't be a god! It's all so clear to me now!
  16. Gunna have to agree on that one : . Some days my hair looks so good that I can't get away from the mirror. Others... I'd rather just smash that mirror into pieces where it stands than look at myself in it :XD: .
  17. I suppose, though I had a Morality and Social Justice class last year that was based in Christian teachings (almost all simply about the infinite love and respect for life it teaches), and there was some pretty dang useful information in that class, and it was unbiased enough to let one think for themselves. I still have the binder from it and reference information from the class constantly :-k . For example [from the class], capital punishment has been shown time and time again to statistically be completely and utterly ineffective as a deterrence against crime. That's not a moral teaching, just objective information to guide morals. I'm still undecided about whether or not capital punishment should be allowed, but what I learned from the class has been invaluable in my search for moral guidance on difficult issues.
  18. Got a decent list right der : .
  19. Methinks you havn't studied world religions very much :-w .
  20. Anyone who says religion is "complete and utter rubbish" is either a) too young to properly think for themselves, or B) hasn't study the topic at all, or both. Me, I'm more keen to Eastern Religion (Buddhism for it's depth, Confucianism and Taoism for their insightful teachings, Zen for it's training, etc.), as the vast majority of it focuses nearly completely on the here and now, a vast contrast to much of the Western [and primal] religions. Yes, familiarity does breed contempt, so I've got that influencing me, but [world] religions as a whole, when examined holistically and with an unbiased viewpoint, give us valuable insights into understanding both ourselves and the world we live in :) .
  21. OK you do that as I watch you and RS take a nosedive straight to hell and anyways what is so hard about not playing for 1 day?It cant be that bad that you cant take a day off for a boycott and whats so bad about a boycott anyways jagex needs to find out that the players don't like what they have been doing to us. Well, considering I havn't played in over a year, on top of the lunacy and lack of forethought of literally everything you've written thusfar, I'm just going to continue laughing.
  22. At the fear of being so harsh as to merit a temporary ban, I will instead choose to wish you good luck whilst laughing from behind the monitor.
