It's Super Effective!
Obviously. Since we need moar rs here: New quest got me a fishing and construction level. Didn't expect to level, but on the other hand I knew I was like 4k from a construction level and semi-close to a fishing level as well. This means I need to upgrade my house, but I figure I may as well get 80 construction before I do that. Also, got 80 agility (want 80+ stats fyi) because I was only like 10k away. IS THAT ENOUGH RS FOR YOU TYLER @@@

Gold Dupe Glitch...
You know from a game design perspective cash is a very minor detail. Really such bugs can happen & no one will ever test all problems with cash like this. Non unit bug testing apart from standard use is very rare & only done to critical places. You're basically looking at paying 10 QA people to catch a bug once a year. I'm sorry but I as a player do not wish that most of my money flows to people doing such tests. I much rather have them spent money on developing new content. It is also the magic of numbers: you're looking here at millions of people playing the game for several years between game breaking bugs. - That's a lot of man-hours that a QA would have to spent for. Really this is like saying it is common sense to write viri; they abuse bugs and instead of reporting it to microsoft you'll just keylog a company for information. It's morally wrong - and people who are even sympathizing with this are for me disgusting, really I hope you'll change before I have to work together with you. You're aware that most of these bugs are found by the same handful of people, right? How about this: Jagex needs to spend money to look for bugs. The people who find these glitches GAIN money from them. There comes a point in software testing where you have to say it's good enough, because you've found all the bugs you realistically can, short of increasing the Q&A budget significantly. Also, if these bugs are found by the same handful of people (which I believe,) these people are obviously professional bug "testers." They make a living off it if the amount of money people think they made is even 1/10 of what estimates say. They're very skilled and they spend plenty of time at it. I'd be willing to bet that this group of people is probably better at bug testing then the average bug tester in, say, most game companies. (Certainly Jagex, but then people just bash Jagex saying they have a crappy Q&A team.) Note that the definition of "bug tester" I'm using in this post is someone who finds bugs. And between their skill at it and the fact that they make money doing it, I deem them professional. --------------------------------- Now, the real flaw that Jagex has is that they don't have a detection system for people making money. Any person who makes a large amount of wealth sets off flags. Similarly for stuff like shard packs and other items that can hold a great deal of wealth. And a flag that goes off when a person gets like more then 2bil of an item or something. Then an automated system checks it out, sees if they did staking, pk'ing, etc. For pk or staking, make sure that whatever they earn is offset by someone losing something. Keep track of GE sales. Set up a system to basically realize "this person is merching" then set up a system to see if a person is selling an unlikely amount of stuff to the GE. The GE detection thing seems a bit less straightforward to implement, but Jagex just needs like an hour long staff meeting to solve it. Maybe a few. Really shouldn't be that hard to have an automated system to detect wealth gain on this scale. If the stories or true (or if the stories are believed to be true, thus being self-fulfilling), it could have easily been that Jagex didn't actually do anything significant enough to address the problem, and that the paranoia managed to resolve the issue by itself. Maybe Jagex said that they would remove wealth from the game so that people would be paranoid and think that they DID remove wealth, when they didn't, knowing that the paranoia would solve their problem anyways? Yes I realize that Jagex obviously isn't smart enough for that, but I find the concept amusing.

What really happened regarding the GP dupe - 80B/HR
Well, there's always the technicality that they're committing fraud by selling something that doesn't belong to them (as technically everything in the game belongs to Jagex, not the players). Other than that... I dunno. But I do think that they'll get suckerpunched on tax evasion if they aren't very, very careful. So spend an hours worth of gold on legal advice >_>

lol, actually thinking with myself: nope I wouldn't do it... Maybe I'd start with something like this, but after a minute or 5 I would grew tired and "say screw it, I'm going back to dg".. Even knowing how much RL money it could make you? (Assuming the rates in this thread are correct.)

How big is the RS gold market to begin with? I have trouble believing they could make 6 figures off this, let alone be set for life. This could just be because I'm ignorant of how big the gold market actaully is. (Also, set for life in my books is somewhere int he ballpark of 10 million.) Also, generally if someone makes a lot of money, they change their lifestyle to one that needs tons of money to support. Guy makes 10 million dollars, within a year he's living a lifestyle that needs like 2m or 4m a year to support. Honestly, being set for life needs something that provides a constant source of income without effort, as opposed to just getting a giant lump sum.

Gold Dupe Glitch...
Bug Abusers Banned 1 day ago We have recently fixed a GP bug related to the money pouch, and its use within the Duel Arena and the Crucible. Specifically, the bug was only found by players with maximum cash stacks and so is limited to a very small number of accounts. Sadly, some of these accounts have chosen to abuse this bug several times to generate large amounts of wealth. This is strictly against our rules, and always leads to related accounts being banned, wiped clean and left with no chance of ever being accessed again – no exceptions. People who abuse bugs will simply not be tolerated and are not welcome to play RuneScape, regardless of how long they have played or paid for. Here is a list of some of the accounts we have banned (in no particular order): 2QO 2475 Total (Maxed Player) 606 Days Played 2College 2054 Total 170 Days Played TzTok-Roy 2327 Total 335 Days Played DeadEternity 2496 Total (2 200m xp stats) 462 Days Played Zeke 1690 Total 121 Days Played 00O0OlI0lIO0 856 Total 54 Days Played Tncd 1128 Total 87 Days Played lbw 976 Total 27 Days Played TvF 2132 Total 279 Days Played x4v 693 Total 157 Days Played WASTEDMONKEY 1978 Total 198 Days Played Rs Completed 2496 Total (Maxed Player) 302 Days Played d4rk_mayhem 1791 Total 296 Days Played Serasha 2381 Total 334 Days Played i am WeeHoo 1889 Total 197 Days Played FlashZxFOur1 1386 Total 132 Days Played Shopkeeper 2338 Total 256 Days Played We are also removing the wealth from any associated accounts (mules and secondary accounts owned by the same player) found gaining wealth from the accounts mentioned above. As well as the above, there are several other accounts that have accessed the bug but have not abused it. We will be rolling these accounts back to Friday 3rd August, before the bug was being abused and before they gained any wealth from it. We have taken this step to avoid any significant inflation issues and also to keep the game fair to everyone. Since it’s possible that these accounts found the bug by mistake, and were not abusing it, we have decided to offer the benefit of the doubt and not ban them. Thanks to a new way of analysing data we can be very sure who was, or was not, abusing the bug. We are 100% sure that the actions we have taken are therefore accurate and we will be using this new data system to help us deal with other issues in the very near future. For those of you concerned about the rare objects being removed from the game after the bans and rollbacks – don’t be. We have several clever and fair ways of making sure that the numbers of these rares (like party hats) remain the same. Lastly, if you experience or hear of a bug in the game, the right thing to do is submit a bug report so that we can review it and fix ASAP. Thanks for reading. It’s very sad for all of us when these things happen, but nobody likes a cheat and actions must and will be taken. Daniel Clough COO & VP of RuneScape Discuss this here.

Prometium Body or 2H
Definitely need a weapon bound. I'd personally keep hood over plate, so break plate. From what I've heard from high level DG'ers, hood vs plate is a matter of personal preference. Keep in mind tho that if you eventually get 100dg, plate is easier to get back. It's also easier to break the prom plate for a prom 2h, then if you feel like you need the def you can later break the hood for the prom plate. Don't give up DG slayer drops easily. The only thing harder to replace then a hood is probably a hex and blood necklace.

There are other rares then party hats. And those have been impossible for a regular scaper to obtain for years now imo. Meanwhile, my blue h'ween has gone down 2m according to the GE.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Anyone read FML? I read FML. This FML is relevant to drinking and being drunk: "Today, my boyfriend introduced me to his family. They were drinking and having fun, so I joined in. I had one too many, got really goofy and then suggested the farting game. "Sorry, I can't hold my liquor!" I quickly explained. My boyfriend's mom shot me a cold look and said, "It's non-alcoholic." FML" Point is, I think part of being drunk is wanting to be drunk. I mean, certainly stuff like slurring your words, lack of balance, slow reaction time, etc, are definitely caused by being drunk. But when it comes to being that "wild" as RpgGamer put it, or being "tipsy and funky" as Duff put it, or many other things that people do when drunk (act stupid, sleeping with someone) is more about using liquor as an excuse and/or explanation to do something you would otherwise consider socially unacceptable. I'm not saying liquor doesn't play a role. To a certain extent, liquor decreases your inhibitions, as well as decreasing your motor control. But to a certain extent it seems like a lie society uses to excuse otherwise unacceptable behavior. (Not that people's behavior while drunk is always acceptable in the first place.) Also, a certain amount of that being "wild" or "tipsy and funky" I think just comes from the atmosphere of a party in the first place.

Old, uncommon, or outdated training methods
Killing Tzhaar for their drops and suiciding in the fight caves is the most original thing I've done I think. (That fits on this list.) Good old mining rune ess. Later moved to cutting yews, then magics. I didn't cast curse on the zammy mage, and I never used obby sword + zerker necklace at ape atoll. Did the rest.I tried out obby sword + zerker necklace a little bit, but I had the dragon scimitar by the time I heard of it. Only thing going for that combo is you can buy it without quests, as opposed to dragon scimitar which needs a relatively difficult quest. Here's something that feels really outdated: being somewhat self sufficient. Pre-GE days, buying/selling was harder and needed more connections. So fishing and cooking your food, making your own potions. Shops actually being useful. Cooking/fishing actually considered useful. THE OLD GENERAL STORE @@@ ANYONE REMEMBER THAT

- CNN: 7 Dead. Up to 30 People hurt; Shooting in a Wisconsin Sikh Temple; Children held as hostages
So, what, with the last topic ending in "gun control law debate" we decided to start this one with it? Honestly, trying to make guns harder to acquire in the states is... messy. I think working on mental health might be less controversial. Trying to make guns harder to acquire makes tens of millions, maybe even over a hundred million americans very upset. It's a political landmine. Also, for the record, altho it's basically impossible in this day and age to make guns impossible to obtain, making them harder to obtain will deter people and has a very very high chance of lowering the rates of things like this. (Good luck making guns significantly harder to obtain in the U.S. tho, between all the people who make guns and all the guns in circulation.) - CNN: 7 Dead.
