The way I see it is the best for leveling is fire (not aoe of course). The theory there is kill 'em before they touch you. However, fire has almost no survivability. You're basically relying on crits with fire. After 50, I think it is wise to go frost. But for questing 10-49 go fire. If you just plan to AoE (very boring IMO) then go frost no questions asked.

What rune altar do you like the most? *pictures, too!*
darkmage099 replied to Killy_the_Kid's topic in General Discussion
Death... Blood looks the worst. I would expect actual blood. It would be cool if they had blood animations coming down the wall (that look real). And perhaps bloody "things" in there. I just don't see how the theme of blood is carried through in the BLOOD altar. -
It wasn't just easy, but it was boring. I hated having to wait for my pet to get agro first. At least on the lock I actually have a bit of multi tasking so I can stay at good mana/health. (alternating between life tap/life drain/soul drain at the end of a kill to get mana, all while doing DPS with dots). Its a lot more fun. :) . The hunter I really would only auto shoot, with some arcane shots in there. I hate locks. They're so boring. In fact, I hate all pet classes. I'll keep my lock because...they're OP and it might be fun someday. I'm still working on my Shadow Priest. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=rZZxGMuMto0tvo is the build I'm looking at at 50. Any advice? http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=rZZxGMuMto0tvo at 70 Doubt I'll reach that

I hope it is released next summer as that is when I will start playing. I doubt it will be released any time soon. According to various people on these forums and WoW forums, many servers have not cleared many of the bosses. If the new expansion is released soon, that will make those raids obselete. Summer seems like the perfect time.

Yeah really, how stupid can people be? All in all they all seemed to just lack common sense, and they paid for it. Some of them were unlucky, like the finalist.

Word of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King
darkmage099 replied to destro3979's topic in Video Games & Consoles
It's kind of already being discussed on the other thread :? . Most of the people's responses are there. -
It doesn't matter if you nothing of the Warcraft history or lore either - you can jump straight in. If you get a chance though, read some of it, for it's a good read. Quite right you are! I'm relatively new to WoW (compared to all these newbs on this thread!). I just jumped straight right in. My friend, Erik (only person I know in real life that plays WoW), harassed me for about 2 months about this game. We used to talk about fantasy stuff during orchestra class (I played the bass!). Eventually, I did the free 10 days and LOVED it. Runescape seemed like trash after that (not bashing RS). It's not complicated at all. Tips: Don't expect to play just one and your first character IF you get stuck, read the stuff on the WoW site Ask people, most higher levels are nice Have fun with it

Man being level 80 and doing Kara and crap will be no fun. With this expansion, they're taking all the prestige out of the level 70 quests. Rerolled an undead priest. Level 16 so far. They're pretty fun.

What is this...RunEscape...that you speak of? START MATURING! Not physically, mentally. I swear, that is the easiest way to get through middle and high school. BE MATURE. Don't act like a 5 year old.
-
Do Westfall. If you're done with that, try and do some VC. Are you SURE you have done EVERYTHING in Westfall?

World of Warcraft. Great graphics, fun, and lots of content. You can get a free trial (if you want I'll email you an invite). If you don't like it, o well. It's free.

Rogues suck against plate wearers. BTW Installing WoW now. The 500gb drive we bought was SATA and our computer (being older than camelot) didn't have the plug in on the motherboard. IT's fine. SATA is slow anyway. We're going to return it. So I'm using a 500gb external drive that my sister was supposed to get  . O well.

You want real tips: 1. Stand tall 2. Be mature. Don't act like a little kid. 3. School is #1 4, Don't get in to trouble 5. Choose your friends carefully 6. Have fun with it

You can't compare apples and oranges just like you can't compare men and women. You can only compare them as humans. Women are no better than men. Men are no better than women. They are DIFFERENT.

Ha because it is impossible to die in RuneScape unless you are incredibly stupid. 1. you can run away---in WoW there is movement impairing effects caused by mobs (monsters) 2. half the monsters are not aggressive---every monster in WoW is aggressive 3. You can teleport---IN WoW teleporting takes time so you cant just "run" away 4. There are no "challenging bosses" that require a lot of team work. Dags come close but that is only one--IN WoW, there are instances and raids from level 19-70 5.

I don't really see how he deserved what he got. Honestly, Snape put Voldemort at a huge disadvantage. Snape was on Dumbledore's and the Order's side the whole time but only Dumbledore and himself knew it. Snape deserved it because 1. He was a creepy Lily-stalker! 2. He chose to put himself into that position of secrecy. Dumbledore would've told others, except that Snape himself requested that nobody know that he was out to protect Lily Evans' son. 3. It's nice for him to be a double agent and all, but it runs with risks. If he had stayed solidly on his own side, I think I'd feel a bit sorrier for him. If Voldemort had not killed Snape and consequently won the Battle at Hogwarts, I honestly don't see Snape standing up to him at the last second. He would've taken a position similar to Aberforth's; hopelessnes, "it's all over, we can't fight it," and probably gone back to skulking at people and stalking other guys' wives. Meh, way to go in not getting the point. I don't see how anybody could not feel sorry or sympathy for Snape. 1. Yes, his love for Lily was obsessive and possessive. He was completely love-starved as a kid, and never had any real friends apart from Lily. No matter if you call him a stalker, Lily considered him her best friend for years. 2. Erm, how could you be a spy and not be in a position of secrecy? Snape didn't want anybody to now about Lily partly out of pride, but also because of his position with Voldemort. 3. Yeah right. Snape has always followed Dumbledore's orders, even when he was feeling used by him. He even wrecked his own soul in following Dumbledore's order to kill him. He would not have stood aside at the very last moment. In the end, Snape did work for the greater good, by telling Harry about his fate, even if this went against his constant protection of Harry. Sheesh, Snape has lived without hope all his life, his only goal was to make amends to Lily, by protecting her much-hated son and following Dumbledore's orders. He has lived his life as a slave to Dumbledore and Voldemort. All out of love, the most valued power in the books. Things could have turned out so differently for this guy and he knew it. He was brave, if not a hero. Man it sucks to be Snape. Do you know what it is like to like your best (female) friend? Let me explain this to you. It's like going to a job interview like this: Employer (girl): Hayyy man. You are qualified for our job and you fit perfectly. You have the chemistry, qualifications, and experience for this job! It's perfect for you...except we're...not going to hire you...WE're probably going to employ someone less qualified...and probably an alcoholic Best friend:......... Employer: Yeah, you probably wont ever get this job...but is it okay if we call you from time to time to complain about the guy we did employ?

I'm sure you would say the same thing about men if you were homosexual... I fail to see the discussion. Women are beautiful to (most) men. It's natural. Point? I think you're freaking people out.

I said I was more refferering to the younger players, not ONLY. I still mean that some wow-"gamers" is more leet than the "gamers" that don't play WoW. For example I see "muuuuuch more 1337 sp3aking" in WoW forums than I see in for example this forum. I'm not reffering to all of the WoW players though, and I'm not judging people on what games they play, just to make that clear. I don't believe that. You're wrong. Have you even been to General, General P2P, or RS forums?
-
I was more refering to the younger players. When i speaked about the "leets". But then again, the runescape community isn't exactly "nice" I only met a few people that answered my questions, else i was overrun by comments like "noob" and "[developmentally delayed]", but as you said, the many kids are the problem. You said that people on WoW are more "leet". Now you're saying only the young people on WoW are "leet". IF that is your point, it sucks because it is obvious. WoW is less grind. There are so many other things to do. No such thing as a perfect game.

People that are getting problems with WoW or any other game are close-minded and weak. They would probably have gotten in to the hospital because of another reason. Seriously, getting that addicted to a game? My experience after speaking with WoW players on several different forums is that many of them are of the "leet type". They are the group that uses internet slang most, and most of them seems like young people. And my experience after trying WoW didn't get better. The people weren't helpfull, people called me "noob" if I asked about questions etc. So I think it's fair to say "Nerdy, nerdyer, WOW?."(I'm not speaking about all of the WoW players, though. Some of them are nice people, just to make that clear) En contraire, the WoW people on this thread are actually not the leet type. The RuneScape players of this forum are the ones who do not know how to talk and fit the description of what you think a WoW player is. I play WoW (not now. My hard drive crashed. Going for a 500g at Frys today). It's a summer game. It's the weakminded who get "addicted". For me, if I have other things to do I will do them. If I dont, I'll go to the next best thing: WoW. IF you even try WoW, you will find most people are nice (sarcastic if you act stupid but nice). Even the WoW forums are pretty fun. People know what they're talking about and most of them seem like teenagers or adults. Hah, the mage forum is a riot though.

Sure it can, since you're not murdering anyone now are you. yeah you are, just indirectly. 1,000 people die because of your actions. Just cause you don't get right up in their faces doesn't mean you don't kill them. You aren't forcing them to use it. You are supplying it for a reason "unknown". And the situation does not force them to use the bomb. If it does, it is an unrealistic situation that should not be answered because it is SPAM.

In the US if your "mates" play games (especially RPGs), you're considered a "nerd". Don't ask me why you just are. Even the popular kids play RPGs though. They just keep it quiet.

I hated that. IT was utterly pointless. I expected more from a third gen. console game.
