i honestly wouldnt diter on your first try... dithering can look good, but it can also flatten out your piece... once done with normal shading, ill tell you if you should dither or not

nazgul, I would get a Ludwig Accent starter kit.... is around $250USD, and its a really good kit for beginners.. I've been playing for 3 years and it still works for me...

i like... just do a bit of work on shading... and finish it and i should be good

ive decided i needed to do a little work on my linework... so here i will post all of my linework i make for anyone who wants to practice their shading with... first up.... im doing this beacuse, thanks to B2d's thread liek this... i learned how to shade... so im hoping i cna help people by giving free linework.. oh please post what you shade...
