  1. Want to know what is sad? Ohio State has only played four teams that were ranked when they played and of those teams the highest any was ranked was only 21 in the nation. LSU on the other hand has played 7 ranked teams and every single one of those was ranked higher than 21 in the nation.
  2. The Winter War would actually be a really cool topic except it happened 100+ years too late for his assignment. :P Here are some topics that I think would make interesting papers: The Fall of Constantinople which ended the Byzantine Empire The Siege of Vienna by the the Sultan Suleiman Charles Martel defeating the Muslim invasion in France The Peninsular Campaign by Wellington Napoleon's Invasion of Russia The Mongol Invasion of Japan and how the Samurai defeated them The Battle of Lepanto where Venice defeated the Turks to gain control of the Mediterranean Maybe something about the Knights Templar The Battle of Sekigahara where Tokugawa made the big first step to establishing his dynasty and becoming Shogun Agincourt or Crecy if you like knights
  3. I think it is unwise to have any kind of sexual relationship outside of marriage. I don't care if it is a straight, gay, bi, or squirrel relationship. :P
  4. Really? I was under the impression that it had been passed into law a couple of years ago. :D No problem. Quoted for truth. Stay the heck away from options until you have at least several years of investing experience under your belt. Actually... selling covered calls is pretty conservative so that is the only thing I would remotely suggest a newer investor to do concerning options.
  5. If they both play an average game then LSU kills them. Only way I can see LSU losing is if LSU goes into the game cocky and Ohio State shows up with a chip on their shoulder then OSU stands a decent chance.
  6. Most brokerages require about $500-$5000 to start an account. The $25,000 is only required to day trade. Otherwise if you sell a stock you can buy it again but you can't sell it until the money from the initial sell has settled which is 3 business days. Options settle in 1 business day. If you sell again before the initial sale has settled then I know my brokerage(Scottrade) will put a freeze on your account the second time you do it after they give you a warning the first time you do it.
  7. Back in high school when we were out of town on a track meet a bunch of us had a pizza eating contest at pizza hut. Five of us participated. Half our slices had to be thick crust and we had to eat salads and bread sticks also. I made the mistake of winning with 24 pieces, 2 salads, 6 glasses of coke and 6 breadsticks. I didn't feel so hot after that...
  8. War Eagle and go SEC! Clemson bites the dust...
  9. I have been investing for about ten years now. If you really want to learn how to invest then read read "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham(Graham was Warren Buffet's mentor). I read it a couple of years ago and I wish so badly I had read it when I first started. Buffet says the two best chapters ever written on investing are in this book. I had to get a business dictionary beside me as I read it since I was unfamiliar with a lot of the lingo. It is a tough read but is absolutely amazing in terms of what you will learn if you can make your way through it. Every Peter Lynch book is good and easier to read although doesn't have as much good info on how to analyze a stock as Graham's book. Peter Lynch books would be a good start though. I think he wrote one for absolute beginners. Also read as many of Warren Buffet's shareholder letters as you can for Berkshire Hathaway. They are free on his site. If you get through all that I have some more good suggestions. If you just want to gamble your money watch all the morons on tv freaking out and over reacting over every single little market move. If they were so good then why are they still working and not so filthy rich that they don't have to? I would much prefer the advice of Soros or Buffet on investing since those are the guys that became mega billionaires from it. If you want you can get on youtube and look up some videos of Buffet being interviewed. He is a fascinating guy to listen to. Also you don't need a license to invest in stocks. Just start a brokerage account. With as little money as you have available you don't really have the cash to diversify at all. Commission fees are gonna kill you if you buy or trade much because it will be about 10% of your money gone each time you buy a stock and then sell it. Do that a few times and half your money is missing.
  10. That sounds like the torment I went through. At one point in the movie I had to pry my girlfriend's fingernails out of my hand. It was like when a cat gets scared and digs in. The harder you try to pull the nails out the worse it hurts. I had all kinds of fingernail indentions in my hand from that movie.
  11. There is no way I would get that close to him with a long barreled weapon. A guy that is good could move fast enough before you could react to disarm you. I'm staying on the opposite side of the room from the person if someone breaks in my place.
  12. I graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University a couple of years ago.
  13. My brother and I have pretty much opposite personalities.
  14. Wow, that is insane they would charge a guy for helping a woman that was being raped. How on earth did junk like that become law in the first place?
  15. That is total bullcrap(the law, not your statement ;-) ). You guys need to change your laws. That's ridiculous if you hurt someone coming in your house to possibly injure or harm you that if you hurt them in a struggle more than they get hurt you can go to jail.
  16. So do none of you have any plans for children?
  17. Hitting someone in the temple with a baseball bat is going to kill them unless you are a wuss. I had a friend who's father was killed at his own house. They think it was some guys getting initiated into some thug ghetto gang having to kill a person to become a member. It was a completely random and completely pointless murder. I'm so glad I live in a place where if someone is breaking in my house I have the right to shoot them and not have to worry about legal consequences. Sure you don't want to go kill someone but if your life is in danger and it is a "you or them" situation at least you can protect yourself and your family without having to worry about being thrown into jail for the rest of your life.
  18. Here is the transcript of Ron Paul being interviewed on Glen Beck. I just got done reading it and found it to be pretty interesting. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/ ... gb.01.html
  19. So angle E and angle 9 aren't the same? If they aren't then the bottom and top lines won't be the same.
  20. That was cool about your Grandad Fakeitormakeit.
  21. Please go to this link. This is what I support. I personally know the founder of it and he's an incredible guy. My dad is on the board of this charity. The staff raises their own support separately so you know the money you give is going directly to those in need. If you want to help people and don't trust those tv charities(I don't) I can guarantee that this is a great charity and I guarantee your money will go straight to helping people instead of paying for salaries and promotions. If anyone has any questions shoot me a message and I will find the answer for you if you are interested.
  22. Politics is just part of the government bureaucracy that makes it more inefficient. You can't just say "well if politicians didn't mess with the government run program." That's living in a fantasy world.
  23. OP will probably ignore this post too but anyways Wouldn't that make him stupid himself for getting involved with these stupid friends? Well I will say it sure sounds like he didn't act well in choosing his friends. He did fine in this instance but if he keeps hanging around with those guys he's gonna get in this situation again and it will be his fault for not learning his lesson about finding good friends that won't get you in trouble the first time around. Plus when I read this I thought it must be high school or something but the guy with the gun starting everything was 22. What the heck? At 22 you definitely shouldn't be going around starting fights.
