Mining in the dorgeshun mines is definitely faster if you bank in the castle basement, although the crafting guild would be much faster if you teleported there with skills necklaces (enchanted dragonstone), or the balloon from the "enlightened journey" quest. To unlock the bank chest in lumby castle basement, just do the first part of the recipe for disaster quest. That was the first thing I did after joining members, before the upstairs bank was added.
  2. Let me ask this differently: Has anyone gotten Pious pete in the last 6 months?
  3. ikraz66 replied to wioneo's topic in Help and Advice
if you actually wore the yak armor and fremmenik shield from the quest, you would realize that the max ranged hit decreases to 2 from ice trolls, and the melee trolls hit a lot less. To make it even easier, wear initiate/proselyte armor instead of yak hide, and protect from melee while using the fremmenik shield.
  4. The random events page in the knowlege base states that you can get a pious pete event in which you light candles and whatnot. Supposedly, this event has been around for years. However, I never got it in over 2 years of playing, and I had every other event many many tiimes. I have all the completed costume sets as well. Yet I have never had a pious pete event and I haven't heard of anyone else getting it either. Can anyone confirm that it still exists or is it just really rare?
  5. I guess it's possible if he used about 27 recoil rings and 1000+ purple sweets . Completing shilo village quest is possible for a lvl 3, just insanely hard. Imagine getting a fire cape at lvl 43 (it's been done). It's probably that hard... well maybe not THAT hard, but still very difficult. and there is no 10 prayer requirement
  6. most the time the best way to make money is not at a really high lvl examples: Rcing - nats/deaths Smithing - iron ore into iron bars crafting - bowstrings true, these are moneymakers, but all these skills are better for making money at higher levels. For example: rcing- double nats at lvl 91 smithing- runite smelting and smithing into bolts/knives/full rune? crafting- selling black d hide sets/ making and alching battlestaffs
  7. all the metal gloves are untradeable and only obtained during and after the recipe for disaster quest. Theres 1 for every known metal including dragon and barrows.

I'm 90% sure its melee that works best, but I used prayer instead because those beasts hit through pretty much anything.
  9. buy them yourself. No one sells thread in high enough quantities to matter, and assuming you're crafting d hide bodies, you only need about 800 of them for all 13k hides. each thread can be used 5 times and each body uses 3 hides.
  10. Correct. I stopped playing for 172 days and wasn't a member anymore, but my 1.5 mill was gone when I came back on rs this week. I sent a query to jagex about this in april and they said that it is paused when you lose membership. Maybe they changed it. Either way, the only way to find out is to try it yourself.
  11. That's because no one in their right mind would be willing to smith mithril bars into knives knowing they would be losing 900 gp per bar. Same deal with all other metals except runite and possibly addy (for dueling and pking only though)
  12. well you start at dark gloves, and it goes up 1 level for every subquest you complete, in any order. Bronze, iron, steel, black, etc.... The highest two are dragon and barrows, and you need to complete the entire quest for barrows. You can always buy the gloves lower than your current one. Yes, there is a glove below bronze.
  13. Where did you come up with THAT? I don't think anyone would sell that cheap unless they only had a few and were desperate to get rid of them.
  14. I couldn't agree more. We need to focus more on fun and less on levels!
  15. well firemaking is one of the fastest skills in the game, and you could get it to 50 in about a hour I think. And obviously someone must think it's fun, otherwise there wouldnt be 2000+ people with the lvl 99 cape, and even a few people with 200 mil exp in firemaking  !
  16. From what I hear, red chins aren't really worth the expense until level 75 or 80 unless you like blowing up your money for fun  and Iron arrow at lessers is only good for f2p mostly.
  17. even if all you want is the torso, you should probably get lvl 3 healer and defender. That makes it a lot easier for finding a team too.
  18. Just wondering, why arent you using iron knives/darts? They make fire giant, bloodveld, and many other slayer tasks much faster than with arrows (as long as you wear good range armor) and are pretty cheap if you kill monsters with halfway decent drops. Either way, use Ava's accumulator always since it collects the arrows you fire and you don't need to pick them up often.
  19. The closest ring to a bank is the one in zanaris. Edgeville bank is also close but you need to put a code in to get there. And I recommend abyss crafting as long as you use glories. otherwise just walk from zanaris bank.
  20. Diamond bolts aren't like a ranged version of veracs. The spec rarely happens, and it only works when you hit in the first place. Plus it doesn't work through prayer. Apparently, what the spec DOES do is make it more likely to hit high WHEN YOU DO HIT if the enemy has high ranged armor. Ruby is better because arent very useful in the first place, and you can hit up to 50 on some monsters.
  21. Without Chaos gauntlets, Fire Bolt averages about 34 per cast but Crumble undead averages about 39 per cast. So, 50000 Fire Bolts could get you from magic level 77.5 to 85 but 50000 Crumble Undeads could yet you from magic level 77.5 to 85.76 That's an extra 250000 in exp. Or, 50000 Fire Bolts will give you the same exp as about 43600 Crumble Undeads. So, you could save about 13% on the cost by using CU instead of FB. Finally, IIRC, you can autocast CU with the slayer staff or with the void knight mace. Hope this helps This is true, but there are no good undead foes worth doing this on, as they all have low hp or can attack you up close. In addition, when you factor in drops on monsters that you can fire bolt, crumble undead isn't really worth it.
  22. metal dragons DO have fairly high mage def, but the reason people mage them is because they don't walk towards you and until recently there were no good 1 handed range weapons. The best fire bolting spot is most likely the lvl 142 giant rock crabs. Their weakness is range and they drop rock shell parts, so its a good moneymaker. They also have very high hp.
  23. Well I actually know of a good cannon spot that you can EARN money at. I don't want to give it away that easily though. Ok heres a hint. You need to protect from mage the whole time. There are also dagannoths nearby.
  24. Lately, bolts have been selling for very nice prices. Instead of making iron knives, buy the bars and make the highest bolt tip you can. You can also add feathers for very nice fletching exp. I'm not sure if you can still make money this way or not but I think people buy in bulk.
  25. monkfish are better than sharks for both exp AND cash. So a better question would be magics or MONKFISH.
