  1. See though, that's the thing that disappoints me- I used to find this game fun-! For THREE YEARS!- and then it all gets turned around in the course of a month. I grumbled a lot in that time, sure, but now I really feel like everything has vanished. It's a little like having a pet Rock for three years, grumbling about how it does nothing but keeping it around for one reason or another, and then having someone pick it up and smash it on the sidewalk. Depressing. If F2P is but a trial, and it isn't fun, then what incentive would I have to get members?
  2. It's Andy Rooney, but it still made me laugh ...have you done quests? although in f2p there aren't that many. Any chance you can go members? Slayer and hunter are fun and all the extra quests are worth the $5/mo in my opinion. Otherwise stick it out and see if summoning is f2p, maybe you can set some summons lose on revenants for fun whilst you mine. I'm waiting on Summoning and will probably be sorely disappointed. And no, I'm not going members, since my primary reason for wanting it was the Wilderness PKing there. The rest? Replaceable by other games.
  3. I think it's more along the lines of Bounty Hunter minus losing stuff. Never found that sort of thing enjoyable. Maybe it's just me, but somehow clans or big teams in general have always disgusted me. If you decide to bring food, it's a money-suck, like every other minigame.
  4. So yeah... I've played this game for three years and been around the block a few times, and with these most recent of updates I can quite honestly say that this game suddenly stopped being fun. I'm big on runite mining- at least back when there was PKing- and now I find that it's totally boring. Revenants aren't a danger at all to me because their AI is easily exploited to the point that I can walk behind a tree and be totally safe. My hobby has been reduced to the same evil grinding that plagues almost all skills now, and even with ores at 13.3k I can't stand hopping around to mine them, especially with Revenants killing my scout accounts. PKers were the excitement and the danger of my occupation, and with them gone there is nothing left for me to do. Duel Arena is useless for cash, Bounty Hunter is useless for fun (and cash, unless you like selling your soul to clans), Skilling and training combat is boring and I don't understand how you people enjoy it, and that leaves absolutely nothing to do in F2P. And just what would I be mining runite for anymore anyway? There's no point in raising smithing now. My very first goal on this game was to make runite armor for kind low-leveled players, and now I can't even do that anymore thanks to a pathetic 3k trading limit. 99 smithing is a showcase skill, just like many others; entirely useless and obsolete. Are you f2p? Have you found some way to have fun anymore these days? Is there any point in continuing? All these, and Andy Rooney, tonight on Sixty Minutes.
  5. This is like saying "I'm glad you got over your cold" when the patient has cancer.
  6. Skilling is boring. Let the nubs mine it.
  7. Improvement, sure, but a system like that... It just ain't the same. I know all you hardcore PKers out there know what I mean.
  8. No, finding combos and experimenting is fine. Hitting double of a person equal leveled to you is not fine. Two equal leveled players in pretty much every other game made have an equal chance of winning and the outcome depends more on skill. In RS the pure beats the normal player always. Wait, what? It isn't fair that the pure expended far more effort to get a more powerful result and is both capable of and knows when to change styles when necessary to adapt to the situation? Does not compute. There are plenty of ways to counter pures even at a low level. To have all protection prayers, one need only gain roughly seven combat levels, which is a very good trade-off.
  9. No mini-games. I much prefer the old formula that was a part of the game's core. Unfortunately, Jagex does not see things that way (don't ask me why- after all, the customers liked things the way they were).
  10. You're right, it's not their fault they have to gold farm instead of work in a factory. It's their government's fault for not setting sufficient standards and creating a cruddy POS workplace. And I love how you point out Americans, and not any UK countries or, for that matter, any other first-world countries at all. Using us as such a stereotype when you commit the same 'crimes'. I wouldn't be surprised if if you're racist. He also would enjoy getting virtual gold for spoiled Western kids more than making toys for spoiled Western kids. In the end, spoiled Western kids apparently win.
  11. Wow. All that at 58 combat? Man, when I was 58 I was running around in full addy. I wouldn't have stood a chance against your almighty pureness. Congrats on abusing flaws in the system. OMG PEOPLE RAISE A CERTAIN WAY THAT HAPPENS TO BE BETTER THAN ANOTHER SO TEHY CHEETED LOL OMG
  12. How to defeat revenants: You Revenant
  13. Any Stakers have suggestions for a Staking formula? That would be VERY useful!
  14. have you never noticed the vhilly feeling in tour fingers and the rush of energy trough your body as you create runes? it keeps RC'ers going. mmm, the power.... No, I runecrafted all the way to 61 and was bored the whole time. Maybe in the GE, but definitely not in everything else. My chief reasons for wanting to quit are the loss of my purpose in getting 99 smithing (No charity anymore!) as well as no PKing in the Wilderness (runite mining boring and no longer exciting/unique/dangerous; pures I spent months raising now useless; bounty hunters is terrible, etc, etc, etc).
  15. (41.2 + (I'm assuming maxed QP (250?) + (1914) + (118))/100) * 3000 = Roughly 192k/15 min, or perhaps 4x per hour. Would you be content with that (probably)? hmm no, Let me tweak it. (Total XP)/3m + (QP + (Total Level - 32̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà) + (Combat Level - 3))/100 = limit Limit + NetworthGEPRICE*.005= Trade limit. Lets say im worth 700 mill (Easily) I could trade 3,500,000+192k in an 8 hour period. or 3x per day. or Limit + NetworthGEPRICE*.0005= Trade limit. That makes it say 350k+192k in an hour period? And of staking? no clue , should be fair enough for staking, rich stakers can stake more May as well do Duel Tournaments if the limit at your level and achievements is only 192k! Any former stakers care to speak up on this one? But net wealth extends that to 542k an hour at a half of percent of my overall net worth. (350k on 700 mill plus the 192k for my skills) Didn't notice "Net Worth" in there. But doesn't that mean if a player were continually traded money, they could keep receiving more? That seems dangerous.

  19. Based on your suggestions, as good as I can roughly reckon: ((Total XP)/3m + (QP + ((Hours played)^2)/168 + (Combat Level - 3))/100 + (Equivalent Trades Completed (Value > 9,000 gp) + Duels Completed + Players Killed̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà)/150 + * 3,000 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâàBounty Hunter, Castle Wars, Fight Pits, Duel Tournaments, 1v1 PvP Minigame (future update), Old Wilderness (I'll have another suggestion for that returned shortly; it got almost no views on Suggestions) Total XP factor has no cap (Just a limitation by the 3m divider). QP factor has no cap (Quest points already do!) Hours played factor has no cap (Suggest please) Combat level factor has no cap (Combat level already does!) Trades factor has an account-age related cap. For every hour played, four of the total trades made that are OVER NINE THOUSAND gp in value will be counted (Nine thousand is a facetious placeholder. Give your input on a better value.) Players Killed has a cap depending on combat level. For those who would occupy the low-level crater, it is probably 200; for med-level, 1000 (probably very subject to change since 55 combat is much easier to attain than 100 combat), and for high-level, no limit. Whichever "Crater" the player is considered to occupy is the highest they may occupy at their level. Duels (tournaments?) completed (where the fighter is victorious) have a similar combat-related cap. All in favor, or would you like to revise THIS formula? The reason stakes, PKs, and trades are in the formula is to cater to merchants and those who are ready to stake high due to better combat experience. I'm considering adding a "loss" penalty, where deaths to players or losses of stakes have negative consequences (but of course the factors may not be less than zero when counted toward the limit). One last note for now: This is going to take a LOT of work. Don't expect the end result to be short and sweet; that said, if we put our heads together I'm sure something will work out nicely. Also, it may very well be that we have to develop two separate formulae: One for staking, another for trading.
  20. Oh, that's right: In the case where the formula would produce any number LESS THAN 3,000 COINS, it would simply revert to 3,000 coins. Also, should play time be included in the formula? If so, how?
  21. I've seen a lot of people put off by my negative attitude lately, and decided that I may as well make (at least) one last attempt at making helpful suggestions instead of ranting until my spleen explodes. This is a formula I have devised after a bit of rough thinking and presented in a couple other threads. It determines how much profit a player may make or how much money they may give away (in drops, stakes, or trades) per fifteen minutes or per hour. Current Formula: ((Total XP)/3m + (QP + (Total Level - 32̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà) + (Combat Level - 3))/100 + (Trades Completed (Value > 9,000 gp) + Duels Completed (Stake of >= 2k gp?) + Players Killed)/150) * 3,000 Note that if this results in a number less than 3,000, the player simply defaults to the original 3,000 coin limit. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà33 when Summoning comes out What do you think of it? Too lax? Too stringent? Don't like it? That's fine! Just post YOUR proposed formulas here or modify the one I've posted. We should support and post the best one in this topic on the RuneScape forums as a community. If enough of us come together to support this change, we might very well make a difference and start steering this game in a better direction. I'd like this NOT to be moved to Suggestions, as the traffic there lately has been very low compared to here and I feel that this is a very important issue affecting RuneScape. If you agree, post away :) Formulae Currently Under Review (Trading) [hide=Formula 1]((Total XP)/3m + (QP + ((Hours played)^2)/168 + (Combat Level - 3))/100 + (Equivalent Trades Completed (Value > 9,000 gp) + Duels Completed + Players Killed̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà)/150 + * 3,000 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâàBounty Hunter, Castle Wars, Fight Pits, Duel Tournaments, 1v1 PvP Minigame (future update), Old Wilderness (I'll have another suggestion for that returned shortly; it got almost no views on Suggestions) Total XP factor has no cap (Just a limitation by the 3m divider).
