@Squisher Being a huge slayer fan, I'm impressed by Aasiwat's slayer and remember getting a "sigh" from him before Kuradal was released when I was slaying dark beast and mining rune just before he switched. He is still the #1 contender at the moment IMO. Can't wait to see him tackle a slow XP skill like RC or agility though. Edit: went back to re-read some earlier posts. It's interesting to note some changes. - Gertjaars losing his #1 rank and "quitting" - S U O M I getting more and more recognition lately - Aasiwat getting rank #1 and still getting the underdog treatment - Zarfot still being picked as the most likely candidate - Jdelacroix barely beeing mentionned despite getting rank #3 - Deplado still cruising under the radar with 24 skills at 30M xp or more
-
Jdelacroix passed 1.9B this last week-end and looks to be on pace to getting 2B by early july. Only weakness is low slayer compared to high combats. Also on pace to become the first player to get 9-10-11 skills at 100M xp by late july. Zarfot close on his heels looking to get 1.9B in the coming days, looks like he started mining the "SUOMI" way. Aasiwat is still going strong training construction even though he is losing ground to Jdelacroix, he still has a 160M XP lead. Gert still out and drumgun looking to become the first player to get 7 skills at 200M XP by the end of the summer.

At least use super attack. Bring a magpie on task and multiple pouches to get added profit (seeing as you can't use t-bird, bunyip .. etc...) . Cannon only multi combat task and sumona is fine.

Too many skills lvl 1... Have fun and good luck!

ever think that less bots would actually lower inflation? The shortage of raw materials means a shortage of finished products which would also mean a decrease in cash from alchers. The shortage of finished products also means pkers have to skill more to get gear for their next pk run which means less cash coming in from statues. I really don't know what to say.. the post is so crappy. Let's start off with Supply and Demand, when there is a low supply of said item, but there is a high demand for said item, the price will go up. What about Alchers? They don't really de-value our money. Player-Killers skilling? LOL. Only thing I will agree on is that statues need to be fixed. It took me a couple of reads to understand your post, please use good English when replying to me from now on. Thanks. The thing you need to take into account is that botters find themselves with undeserved wealth and since they took no effort in gaining their wealth, they have no attachment to their wealth and will buy what they want at any price, not caring to buy at the higher end... thus contributing to inflation.

I happens to all of us. Crap... yep we all are on an internet forum arguying about a video game, it's bound to happen!
-
@ SirHartlar an AlexRose Howbadisbad considers Bots to be regular players that have the same rights and impact than any other player, so don't expect that your explanations to have an effect on his stance.

@ Gidion Don't worry mate, thinking back to some of my replies, I sure do look like an angry nerd sometimes!

I was comparing how something IRL can affect you, not the scale nor the consequences. The thing is, you're kinda assuming I'm fuming by myself in front of my computer frantically writing in hopes I'll change the entire gaming industry. I'm upset more in the sense that I am annoyed by botters and how they affect my gameplay. They won't make me quit or anything, but if they were to get perm banned, that would certainly make me grin.
-
@ Howbadisbad Your last assumption makes me realise you have no idea why the trade limits were implemented and I'm not gonna get into that argument once more, it's been said too many times on these boards already. Remember, a survey showed that 10% of the playerbase is interested in PVP.... not enough to make a huge change in cashflow for Jagex.
-
I was showing how weak the argument that what someone else does, has no effect on me. It simply is not true. Every bot contributes to the freak economy we have by either devaluating or inflating some items' value. BP contributes to higher gas price (the gas we buy today at the pump was sold months ago as "futures" deal) and that oil leak will affect me in the end via environmental disasters, higher fish and clams prices and so on. With an amoral playerbase and a games developper that looks to have lost faith in its rules, I don't foresee great things in the future for RS.
-
Chill pill taken. Would you say the same thing if you ever get hacked or wrongly banned? Would you say, eh! it's just a game! Someone else corrupted my account, but eh! it's just a game, I won't let the actions of someone else affect me! Reality check here buddy: There's a spill oil in the Mexican Gulf, someone else did it, it will only affect the people living near the coast and except the higher price I'll pay, I don't give a damn? I want BP to pay the same way I want the botters to pay. I don't like cheaters getting away.
-
@howbadisbad We are on agreement that Jagex anti-botting system is a joke and it certainly looks like they need the money... @Saruman44 I started the falconry topic to see if it was something new. It turned out many posters came to defend the botters and it somewhat shocked me that members of Tip.It were okay with botters. I had never discussed botting because I though it was a marginal problem that was eradicated a couple years ago. Yes I hate botters, but I also hate those who don't condemn them. I won't stop talking about it until the problem is gone.
-
Your lazy if you bot your runescape account while you go to work? Ok. A lazy Rs'er no doubt. A cheater and everything that goes with it. Botting breaks the economy more than it helps it. It gives undeserved wealth to some and encourages inflation (people with undeserved money tend to not care how much they pay for their items). So you would rather pay double price for certain things than have bots? Ok. OT: Pure awsome As I tend to skill a lot, I rarely buy things through the GE, so the things I sell are cheapened because there are countless botters out there pouring items in the economy that would otherwise not be there, hence driving prices down because there is too much offer. One of the reason some items are that expensive is because some cheaters find themselves with extra cash and don't care how much they pay for their items because a machine will get them more in-time. So demand is driven by cheaters and helping prices be that high. Prices have gone way up since the trade limits have been implemented. SInce players cannot buy their cash via trades, they "buy" their cash via botting. Since a lot of cheaters find themselves with lots of cash to spare, they competition each other for items, driving prices up. PVP statuettes are not the only thing affecting the economy buddy...

Quoted for the truth it holds. You may be onto something. The fact that Jagex remodeled their front page to have a disney add for a while and aren't instant perma banning bots is a bad sign. Maybe they will add the wildy back so more people will start playing (My hope and dream ofc) :D Or should we start the forum R.I.P Runescape (date it crashes here) <-- the second true death of Runescape Rest assured that if that ever happens, then RS will truly be on its last miles...

I've heard the same arguments towards third world countries and cheap salaries. People want their clothes cheap and don't care if it means cheap labor and poor life conditions at the end of the line. It's not uncommon, in fact Howbadisbad's position isn't an extreme one, it's just an "immoral" one, but shared by many. And yeah, we are 4-5 against 1 because not many players have the courage to say they cheat their levels and gold.

Yea I'm so jealous. I wish I could get a program to play a game for me, because as you astutely pointed out Runescape requires me to sit around my house all day while botters, I assume such as yourself, are out getting all the hot chix and drinking bacardis and having sweet rave parties and greeting other people by doing that thing where you point both of your fingers like guns and go "pshew pshew" like the sound guns make, and then you go beat the [cabbage] out of some nerds because math is for [bleep]s, and it's the only way for you to assert yourself over those losers with no social lives. I get the feeling howbadisbad is going to pull a BloodArgon, and we'll see a post from him in the "I got banned" thread explaining how he's quitting after his umpteenth macro account got banned. But hey, at least in the meantime you've managed to put dem nurds in their place, right? I lol'd reading this because you put things in such hilarious terms, while assuming that by "have social lives" I meant going to huge parties and being like a boss. Tbh, if I was a bot I would laugh at the people who play legit (beat their asses irl by omali's standards) because I got the same thing as them with much less work, and I had fun (rave parties by omali's standards) And yes I will come back on this thread and say: OMFG JAMFLX BAND ME WTF DOOD I WUZ UNLY BOTIN FOR AL 99'S OMFG I QUIT RIP FAQSCAPE (Insert date when I was banned here) Don't worry mate, I know you'll crawl into your hole the day you get banned. Did you pay RL money to purchase your bot ?
-
And you sound like you are jealous of those who did = Stalemate there For a near maxed player liek you, bots should never get in your way, only help you as item prices are cheaper because of bots. Jagex needs their subscription money atm so they don't perm ban. I don't buy my levels so prices are not a variable here. I don't mind sounding jealous compared to a botter, like Omali said, you are probably the new Blood Argon. If Jagex are indeed that bad in need of money, then we are really on the verge on the game falling apart.
-
@ Howbadisbad, If you are botter, then you deserve to be banned on both RS and Tip.it, plain and simple. If there are no moderators here to moderate your assumptions, then I'm gonna start treating you like the botter you are. I hope there's a shift coming towards botters from Jagex and I hope you get perm banned for botting. @ Omali Great post as always. Omali strikes again for the good cause!
-
And yet again, you sound like you botted your levels. I never used bots and never wish I had used them. I play this game to have fun and when a bot gets in my way, I hate it. I never wanted to be a p-mod but I find myself wanting that status more and more everyday to weed out the bad seeds. But that would be a temporary solution...there needs to be harsher punishment for cheaters.
-
@ howbadisbad, I may sound jealous, but you sound like a botter... I prefer to sound jealous. These assumption games can be played both sides buddy.
-
What you need to understand is that some people are not just in it for the lowered price, they themselves bot their level and are trying to rationalise it.
-
Making topics about bots is not a fad, it's the result of frustrated players and the effect bots have on them. Jagex needs to deal with this issue before it becomes widely accepted and a common practice. What we are facing is RS becoming known as Botscape and a joke in the industry.
-
Your opinion on things change when jagex alters the game to the point its almost unrecognizable and the problem is still there. I and the community for that matter didnt decide overnight that bots were acceptable. For the longest time i was on that anti bot crusade. Everyone was, we all hated the bald, green men who were killing the game. Jagex added the trade/pvp updates and suddenly they disappeared. We had to adapt and accept such a radical change. But when it comes down to it is Jagex fault in the first place that people bot in the first place. For reasons ive been explaining throughout this thread. This isnt the same game it was back in rs classic or even early rs2. Jagex has the time and the recourses to add new fun ways to train skills. I guarantee much of the bots are people in this catagory who are sick of the (boring) grind. I dont mind the fact that it takes 100's of days to max out. But id like to enjoy it while i work on that goal :P. You are just rationalising using bots to prevent yourself having to train the proper way skills you hate. People who bot and blame Jagex are delusionnal. The fault lies with the person botting and the reson behind the usage of bots is not because the grinding is boring. It's because they want either lvls or GPs without having to gain them with actual effort. Call it laziness, greed or "having fun playing the game", in the end these people are breaking the rules and should be removed from the game. If the playerbase wants to play this game AFK, they should really question themselves why they are playing this game.
