  1. O_o Lvl 80 armour for rangers? when melee have only 70, tis a little steep. Anyway, big no to dragonwood tree's, just doenst seem plausable, although, if the bow is a quest reward, that could be fine. Although, seeing as cutting dragonwood tree's would be limited, so you cant just power train to 85 wc, you actually have to get 50 all around so you can go off and do legends, it MIGHT work out, as it would mean the bow would remain a fairly rarer weapon. I dont like the idea of having different arrow shaft types, as that just seems to be taking it over the top, seeing as we have bronze - rune arrows already. What about the special though? Another quickshot? And, as its a longbow, I dont see it actually having much use, as a magic short would be faster for training, BUT if it was like the crystal bow, and sat between short and long, it could be viable for training and pk'ing.
  2. Nice fun idea, but unless you got say double xp over the normal amount you get for burning a log, I cant image there would be much point for it, although, it would be nice to use for parties and events :D Now, if you got a nice high xp bonus for burning the logs once you've cast that new spell on them (magic xp as well as fm is nice idea), and if you can cast over the whole inv of logs before you drop/burn, it might be another way of training for those people who can afford to buy a large amount of cosmics. Firemaking is a redundant skill now, the only real use it has is a an easy total upper, and for burning yew/magic pyre logs at morton if you want fine cloth for splitbark. Unlike mining and smithing, woodcutting used to be for leveling firemaking, but with fletching being as profitable as it is, I'd much rather cut logs, and fletch, and make some money from my time, than burn logs for skills. The only use of FM I can think of at the moment barring for shades, is to get ash to use with tarromin, as its much better than using limps.
  3. Crim, the problem with IP locking the game, is that you will need to be able to log into the website to change IP's, as if yours changes, you cant log into the game to change it. Remember, there ARE TWO log procedures, one to log into the actual game, the other to log into the webiste. Now, on thinking about this a bit more, it WOULD be doable to IP lock logging into the game, BUT, it would require you to have a seperate password for a section on the site which controls the IP lists, so essentially you would have 2 passwords. Now, For those on a static IP, this would be great, as you would just add you IP, then your account would be IP locked to your home, and even if a "hacker" got control of your main password, they would actually need both of them to be able to do anything. Unfortunatly for those on a variable IP, it wouldnt make any difference, as if they had a keylogger, you'd be able to get both passwords easily as they will be using them both every time they log into the internet (once to set their new IP) and then when they log into rs (The main account pass). Besides, you have to take into account that some people have no idea what an IP addy is, let alone how to find out their own one, it would probably limit the people who can play the game, something that Jagex would NEVER do, and it would also be a pain in the neck.
  4. Fletching is out of the question for a quest based item, I'll use drag weapons as type example: Only use them after you've done certain quests and only buy them (from shops) if you've done the quests, and you cant make them. Nice idea for a quest though, doing a scavenger hunt, but it would be a bit similar to doing Dragon slayer by kinda having mini sections which make up the main part of the quest, then a finale. And, I believe damaged is governed by the arrow and your level, the only bow which hits higher than rune at lvl 99 range is the crystal bow, so rune arrows would be fine in it.
  5. Hell, we might as well get neon "street glow" lights put under the various forms of transport, such as mine carts, carts, gliders, magic carpets... Anyway, bad idea, the colour schemes looked really rubbish apart from the red and black armour. And please, go use another tool other than MS Paint, perhaps you might be able to draw something half decent.
  6. Okay, As to having the same speed as shortbows...well, that kind of makes shortbows obsolete and useless. Maybe if the speed was between short and long, and so was the accuracy. Multi-arrow special depending on level is a nice idea though. Why cant it be used with rune arrows? as it essentially means theres no point pk'ing with it, and I'd much rather use a shortbow on fast with iron or steel for training, as its much quicker. Quest gained item is fine, but, It shouldnt be able to be bought from any ranging shop, perhaps just one npc. Again, if you need a quest to wield it, you shouldnt be able to make it, and if it was, you definatly wouldnt need 10 logs, hell, to be honest, you can make a real bow with half a log. Erm, used in f2p and p2p, yet its made from magic logs (fletching being p2p only, along with magic logs) and is only useable after you've done a quest....dont think so somehow, it would have to be p2p only. Not totally a bad idea, but you're forgetting that there IS already a lvl 70 bow, this would need to be about lvl 80, otherwise it would be too easy and too good for lower levels, especially with the multi special.
  7. Blaziken, go read what I have put in your other threads. THINK before you post. Please, for the love of God, THINK MAN THINK!
  8. Well, Duh, thats what the triangle is. Melee owns rangers Rangers own mage. Mages own melee. Rangers SHOULD beat mages. And, I dont agree that mages should be given a boost, seeing as if you use them properly, they will easily eat up a melee'er of a similar or fairly higher level.
  9. Was that an attempt at sarcasm? as it was poor, although, it was funny :D
  10. Personally, I'd rather play a game than watching TV, as at least its interactive, and you do have to think what you are doing. Hell, Some are even mentally challenging, therefore, metally stimulating (I'm not talking about rs if you didnt guess), others are like books, with the player taking a backseat to the story, which can be much more entertaining: Why watch a film when you can take part in it in a virtual world! You might not want to play RS, but I'll point you to some games which you should check out: Medieval: Total War. Half Life 1 and 2 Deus ex Max Payne 1 and 2 (Now this game certainly puts you in a movie, I'm sure there is actual talk of making the game into a film as well) Metal Gear Series (Solid is v.good) Any of the Zelda series (Link to the past on the snes is fabulous, just get an emulator and dl a rom) Anyway, you get the point. But, RS it fun in its own way.
  11. basically.... Nu-uh. Nope. Not a chance in hell. A lot of people use dynamic IP's, and even static IP's are subject to changing now and again. And to counteract that, that means you'd have to be able to log into your account via the website so you can edit the IP's if your's was to change...so if someone gets your password, it wont stop them logging in, as they can just add their IP to the list. Please, THINK before you post, otherwise you'll fall under the same view as Blaziken. (Which isnt a good thing by the way, far from it infact)
  12. maveritchell, I salute you, as Blaziken STILL hasnt figured it out :D
  13. Pfft, what do you mean they *should* add horses, there ALREADY are horses. In a variety of colours as well. From Diago...in Draynor. As for ridable horses, stop being lazy.
  14. Nope, bad idea when it involves rune as its just not really rare, or worth the protection. As for it being used in conjunction with dragon items (or crystal/barrows etc) then...again, not a bad idea, but critically flawed as others have pointed out the problems with IP's being constantly changing. Hell, I've got a static IP, yet I'm on the 3rd version of it. Besides, it STILL wouldnt stop hackers in the slightest, remember, they HAVE just got your password, they would be able to add their own IP to the list, transfer the items, remove their IP. Job done.
  15. I only read the black part, as thats the main part that I think is wrong. Yes, rares DO take up a fair amount of the money in the ecomomy, but you have to take into account that once they into silly prices, no-one will be able to afford them, effectively taking a HUGE chunk of money out of the economy due to them becoming untradable except for other rares. Alot of the "rich" players are only rich due to owning rares, not due to having a shed load of cash, therefore, if the prices go up, rares will effectively become useless as money. And...No, the prices of raw materials WILL NOT go up if rich people by alot, due to the fact there is a constant supply of them, and the fact the materials get used up.
