  1. What he did wasn't so much price manipulation as realizing that things were undervalued and exploiting that hole in the market. Thats how brokers and mutuals make their money, and thats how he made his.
  2. The puns on runescape are some of the most terrible I have ever seen! Though some of the fourth wall breaking is pretty good. For example if you have not done darkness of hallowvale and talk to a minigame NPC, you can ask him why he is marked as a minigame, and you get an amusing answer.
  3. I think F2P should get the holiday updates. They are fun and don't give any real advantages, so I dont see why not. It would be kinda cool if they holiday items did give some bonuses (not steller ones, maybe equivenent to steel armor or something) so you dont feel like your walking around nekkid. But meh, whatever.
  4. In real life, there are no autoers or bots. There is supply and demand. If people demand something, it will be supplied. Some will supply it for more, others less. In the end it will all balance out thanks to our selfishness that forms the invisible hand.
  5. I believe they were thinking of stick figure fighter, which is an awesome game. However runescape is a bit better. Most people who have not played runescape tend to bash it pretty hard though.
  6. That would be pretty interesting. Make them require a unique email too, and you might just eliminate some lazier macroers too.
  7. For zybez to become history tip.it would also need to develop a kick [wagon] RS client, and i dont see them doing that any time soon.
  8. Let me use your own words and say 'The fact that you feel the need to justify yourself create doubts'. A lot of people are socially successful, but they don't feel the need to brag about it on a forum topic. Oversized ego much? I think that person is simply trying to hide their own desperate need for a social life. Mine is not exactly stellar (I have always been more interested in a good book then anything else), but at least I don't feel the need to ham it up enough to make a high school jock cry.
  9. I was born with level 99 screaming.
  10. Give me a price guide, and that means no more zybez! Granted a price guide would be very very demanding for resources since it would have to be updated at least weekly.
  11. That was a really nice event, and I hope the F2P can enjoy it with out whining too much about not having enough bank space (hey, I dont have enough bank space for all my mining/crafting/farming/runes/stuff either, I drop my holiday items too)
  12. You know, the best way to do MTK is to keep your approval rating up and make sure you have the right amount of money in the coffers. If your leaving it for more then 90 days at a time with out withdrawing (assumeing your also keeping your approval up) then its just pointless.
  13. I think we should all remember that in real life, Wolverin can still instantly regenerate from almost anywounds! So I guess its not to far fetched for us to heal by eating! After all fish the best healing items in the game are full of protein. Protein is the building block of your cells and what is used to grow new tissue. So it does make sense! [hide]For the unimaginative and overly literal, I was kidding about the Wolverine thing. Everyone knows that in real life it takes him a couple minutes to regenerate, not like in the movies. For serious wounds (like a bullet to the head) it may even take him several days.[hide]For the really literal with no sense of humor at all and have had their funny bone surgically removed, real wolverines don't regenerate. They are just vicious little bastards who like to try and bite your balls off.[/hide][/hide]
  14. Why did you pick slayer and farming? I would say that the hardest skill is runecrafting, mining/buying all that ess takes tons of time, not to mention the endless runs you have to do to get it all crafted. Even if you just rune laws or nats on a world for that purpose, it will still take forever and still be very difficult. On the whole however, slayer is harder. you can get 99 farming at level 3. I would like to see you do the same for 99 slayer! The faster exp gain comes from having a reasonably high slayer level, but you can get seeds pretty easy at low levels.
  15. Its not THAT hard. I had heroes done with in 6 months of starting RS. I still havent done legends! But for all you whiners out there seriously, what the hell did you expect? Another warriors guild? The Heroes and legends guild both have some pretty significant rewards. Think of it as just another quest and all of a sudden wow, the EXP rewards from bother are pretty good, and wow you get all kinds of neat new equipment from it! If you continue to whine... GTFO. Some of us like the guilds. So its not paradise. Get over it.
  16. Its hard to go downhill when you have hit rock bottom, and I think F2P has been there for a long time. P2P has its ups and downs, but I think it is still head and shoulders about F2P. The best way to go I think is to join a community and hang out with some more intelligent people.
  17. Of course MMO's are nerd havens. I am a nerd (a very strange one who spends his summers working with animals, but still a nerd) and most of the people who play RS are nerds or geeks to some degree or other.
  18. The heroes guild is immensly important. It has runite ore, the glory charger (more gems FTW!) and a blue dragon to range. It also has the D mace and D b axe, two great weapons. Whats not to love?
  19. The runescape economy if it were real would be the most [bleep]ed up in the world. First we suffered from massive stagflation for years thanks to the rapid rise in most prices. Then the whole thing went into a depression, and now its in ressession. But its not real, so I think it will be fine in the end.
  20. If you really want to have a death match, go to the arena and stake. That way, you know whats gonna happen.
  21. If they took off a long while to get rid of bots I would be fine with that. If they were just doing graphics no. I couldn't care less about graphics.
  22. Yes, and rather badly. Now, this is why I think F2P should not get any more skills. You already have a pretty decent full game. Yes, it is a full game. You have complete access to quite a few skills and while you only have a handful of quests, they are fun and relevant. You can also PK but you do not have any minigames. So over all the only thing you really lack is minigames. If I were JagEx, I would probablly give you access to one or two simpler ones, but thats not my call and no minigames take place in F2P so thats kinda shot. So I dont think F2P needs anything new. If you want new stuff, pay for members. Other wise, enjoy your free game.
  23. If your whering studded as your best armor... You are a noob. Sorry. Now maybe you have good skills, but for combat your a complete noob.
  24. ummm not realy adamnite and mithril were in other games b4 lotr such as every harvest moon game But Lord of the Rings was published in the 1950's. Well before ANY video games. But of coarse you cannot name a modern fantasy tale that does not owe a debt to LotR. After all, One Ring to rule them all. And yes, mining gets almost zero updates. Firemaking gets a few, like the pyre logs and the ballons (you cant deny that was for firemaking) but for the most part I dont see any reason to update mining, expect maybe some new sites and renovations.
