  1. It's not about being a jerk. And, as a matter of fact, I am ftp. I used to be ptp (and, btw, ptp bank space is also very very restricting - it's true that they have a lot but that's because there's a LOT more stuff), but i'm ftp now. And i have no problem storing my stuff in my bank. And yes, something is wrong if you have to throw out 1.8k willows, but you really shouldn't have raw materials in your bank for very long - those willows should have been burnt or sold. And it's not about ashes or fliers or stuff like that - most people keep hammers and chisels and pots and stuff like that in their banks when it's very very easy to go buy those things from a general store for 1 gp when you need them. and loko (poster before me), go ahead and post your bank and i'll point out a few things you can do to clear up some space.
  2. nice idea but seriously - getting 500k or 1m for free just for not breaking rules is a lot of money. maybe only 5k at 6 months, then 20k and 1 year and 60k or 70k for two years. jagex can't give out hundreds of thousands of gp. also, you have to be aware of the rewards to claim them. there should be somewhere you can go to claim them. also, the login screen (right after you login, where it says "you last logged in from *IP*" and "you have x days of membership left") should have a new box that says "you have gone x days without breaking a rule" and if you have a prize waiting for you at the claim area it'll tell you that too.
  3. excellent, excellent idea. i've thought about this for a while - i like swiftswitch's notepad function a lot.
  4. i don't mean to flame, but you have a lot - i repeat, A LOT - of stuff in there that you could throw out. i know you don't want to become dependant on diango for the holiday stuff, but honestly - how hard is it to walk to draynor village when you want to wear that stuff? and how often do you wear it anyways? additionally, the needle and tinderbox and hammer and harpoon and small net are easy to get again when you need them, and don't really need to be saved. just by getting rid of your holiday items and those things, you could free up 13-15 spaces! edit: oh, and optionally, you could chuck the ghostspeak amulet since you can get em from the guy from the quest (i forget his name, i think it's father uhrney).
  5. a lot of people also store items like chisels and hammers - stuff they can pick up for 1 gp at a general store. also, a lot of people have unused raw material in their banks, like coal - use it or sell it! your advice about finishing training one skill before working on the next, however, is the best way by far to keep your bank clean and have spaces open. well said.
  6. beatifully said. this is pretty much what every ftper here who has no troubles with bank space has said, and i don't see why it can't work for everyone. i have no problem fitting all my stuff into my bank (i'll post a pic, if you want), and that's melee armor, mage armor, range armor, weapons/runes/arrows/bows, food, strength potions, a few random event items (i throw away the ones i don't like, like the zombie stuff, but i've kept the camo top and the mime boots and mask), and the bits and pieces of whatever skill i'm working on at the moment. right now i'm in the midst of merchanting, so rather than my skill stuff i have some god armors and rune (g), but that's not really relevant.
  7. brilliant idea. i think this would be a lot of fun, to find out who did the most damage in the game. maybe divide the high scores into who did the most damage to monsters and who did the most damage to portals?
  8. just saying - added a few new things to the main post.
  9. well thought out - i love hunter but unless you have high enough hunter for the dragon implings (which i don't just because i don't have time to get to 83), the loots sucks.
  10. bufoman, you make a couple of excellent points =D> =D> =D> i just want to address each of them. 1. more ftp bank space helps the economy because ftpers will buy more stuff since they have room to hold it, thus lowering prices. This is true, actually. But from what I've heard, F2P doesn't want bank space to fix the economy. They want bank space to hold all their current stuff, so more bank spaces doesn't necessarily (sp?) mean that they can hold more stuff. 2. free to play people are valuable and make plenty of contributions to the runescape community. improvements to their game will allow them to play longer. This is also true. :D But consider this from Jagex's point of view. I have absolutely no idea how much money it would cost them to add more bank space, but unless they see a way to gain a profit from it equal or greater to their cost, they won't do it, no matter how much F2P contributes to the runescape community. 3. i don't entirely understand this point, but it seems kind of irrelevant. :D correct me if i'm wrong.
  11. wow  you have a lot more random stuff than most people... i only have like 7 slots (one camo part, two mime parts, two zombie parts, frog mask, frog prince outfit)
  12. yeah that generally seems to be the best solution... maybe we should start a petition and write a letter to send to jagex about that rather than asking them for more ftp bank space like prankster_king is trying to do?
  13. shouldn't this go in the Why can't F2P have ...?! thread?
  14. i can only think of one quest item you should save (anti-dfire shield) and one item you can if you want (blurite sword) but you don't have to really save either of them.
  15. Far too huge a reward. 100k mining EXP? 100k tokkul? Even the law runes and coins are a bit much for such a simple quest. Also, Swan Song and Garden of Tranquility should be requirements for the quest - if you kill the WOM, then you can't use him for either of those quests anymore and the game breaks. yeah i was gonna mention that that reward is massive... 100k mining exp? 100k tokkul? plus 100 laws and 30k from the wicked old man? no way.
  16. well i'm not so sure about rare-only spaces, as not that many people have rares, especially in ftp (it's easier to earn cash in ptp)
  17. that's the only one of your posts i saw, but don't be all "don't flame, it's mean" mr nice guy then turn around and insult people, tell them they suck and to kiss your [wagon]. look, i flame too sometimes, but at least i don't claim to be all high and mighty and tell others not to flame. well school is a bad example because your parents do pay school taxes... what people are saying is that ftp is free and you shouldn't complain about something that's free, you should be happy that you got it at all.
  18. and by the way, you are a complete and total hypocrite. your sig says "don't flame" but not only are you being a jerk on this thread, but you're a jerk on other threads too. from the "official pk rules honor thread" that's the only one of your posts i saw, but don't be all "don't flame, it's mean" mr nice guy then turn around and insult people, tell them they suck and to kiss your [wagon]. look, i flame too sometimes, but at least i don't claim to be all high and mighty and tell others not to flame.
  19. you know, now that you mention it, i think that maybe you're right. i'm just jealous that people exist who can play the game for free.   i'm a BAD PERSON!! waaaaaaaah!!! i think i'll go, what was that again? stick my finger up my nose? i think i'm gonna go stick my finger up my nose! waaahh!!  *cough* you're saying that because we have differing opinions mine is useless? let's see... wow, so apparently i'm representative of every single member of runescape that there is! if you had actually READ my original post, you would see that I SUPPORT ADDING BANK SPACE, YOU IGNORANT PIECE OF CRAP. but there's a LOT of people who don't, and it's unfair to only have one thread that only represents one side of the argument. and since you, of course, believe your opinion is right, that must mean that all other opinions are those of stupid noobs who should go stick their fingers up their noses, right? our consuming hate of F2P'ers? *scratches head* where did i say i hated all F2P'ers? did anyone in this thread ever say that? ah, here it is: fine, that point i concede to you.[/sarcasm] oh, one last jibe that is so easy i can't resist it: what are you, some amateur psychologist? maybe next time you should actually research the person you're offering your opinion on - I'M FTP. I HAVE BEEN FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW, AND I HAVE NO ISSUE WITH BANK SPACE. your turn. i'm gonna go stick my finger up my nose... hey, what's all this gooey stuff?
  20. I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want to make this argument, personal, but I noticed something that really annoys me. Whenever Prankster King gets in "debates" with people on this thread and the other person comes up with a moderately decent point, he does one of the following: 1. Makes fun of them mercilessly and says that they are "noobs" for thinking they could actually "win" a "debate." 2. Says he and others are "too busy with real life" to "waste time" replying to "every single post" on the ftp bank space thread. 3. apologizes profusely, which makes him out to be a gentleman and the other person out to be an aggressive jerk. That is NOT COOL. He dominates this thread with an iron fist simply by crushing all opposition with one of the above tactics.
  21. i laughed in real life - i can see how you'd come to that conclusion. um... check the thread, this is the "anti-ftp bank space thread," not the "why are there no high level updates????" thread.
  22. and thats why you should be shot.... hey just because he didn't know that programming in more bank space costs more money doesn't mean he should be shot. threeleggedlion, you forgot logs, if the person is training woodcutting and body and death runes for mage (body is optional i guess).
  23. i think i may hold you up as the perfect example of how an ftp bank is really plenty of space. you don't hold onto tinderboxes and pots and stuff you can easily buy, you don't hold onto random event stuff or holiday items... perfect. post that on prankster_king's thread, show them how easy it is to fit your stuff into an ftp bank if you are careful.
  24. if you guys are at all interested in hearing the other side of the argument, check out the anti-more ftp bank space thread, at http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=652851 also, i think it's quite obvious that prankster_king pulled the "98%" statistic out of his [wagon].
