PvP Artifacts and It's Effect on Runescape Economy
Zaaps1 replied to Dire_Wolf's topic in General Discussion
damn youre cool. i am against wind bolting i only did it myself once or twice, i think ppl should get ep with an actual risk, and drops are ok tbh. with the removal of stuff it balances out imo It doesn't balance out. -
Just a few quick questions on them: 1) If I was to kill Rex, what would the average profit/hour be? 2) What's the best set-up for that? My stats: 97 attack, 99 strength, 90 defense, 81 ranged, 84 mage, 79 summoning, 71 prayer. I will most likely solo. 3) I don't get the whole "suiciding" thing, can someone explain it to me? 4) Best familiar? Great, thanks!

Waterfiend section is incomplete. 1) If you have 88 summoning, you should not be praying ranged there. The Unicorn will heal you enough that you can get by. You should pray Piety in this case, if anything. 2) In your Bunyip section, you have a Granite Mace for speccing, but it is not mentioned in the actual text of the guide. 3) For the weapon, you should mention Zerker Necklace + Obby Mace. 4) If the Elemental Titan works for the CTs method, then obviously it should work for the Ancient Cavern, right? But that's not mentioned. You should stat in your unicorn section (if you don't make a new section for this) that Titans will work as well.

PvP Artifacts and It's Effect on Runescape Economy

Yes! At least we know that Jagex isn't oblivious to this then. OFF TOPIC: Are you doing a bloodveld task in guthans? -
Awesome! Thanks everyone!

This deserves a nerf, but it'll be a while, most likely, before one comes. String amulet was never good anyway. Rock lobsters are better if you don't mind the cost, and diamond bolts are better if you do mind the cost.

Average-20 day line was incredible useful tbh...helps you know when the item is going to change directions.

Does "Attack" and "+Attack" actually make a difference?

The analogy is not that literal. -
Does "Attack" and "+Attack" actually make a difference?
Zaaps1 replied to @Dan3HitU's topic in General Discussion
selective perception, if you have higher attack you will hit more often on average no level 60 attack has a chance against 99 attack in a successful attack contest (granted you may need a very large sample to tell how much more effective) 99 attack is like 12.7M more exp than 60 attack. The increase in effectiveness should be made much more noticeable. It's not measured by xp, it's measured by levels. Although yes, there should be a noticeable difference. However, the weaker the monster, the less noticeable the difference is. -
A better way to slay Dagannoths! ~Revamped!~

Very nice, again. I just used this and I liked the result. Two corrections for your guide, actually. 1) For inventory, you wrote "super set". That a small mistake. A super set would include the super defense potion, which is not needed. I think you mean "pure set", which is just the super attack and super strength 2) Include Forge Regent in your familiars section. Right-click special is just like the Smoke devil's and it gives ranged xp. EDIT: It appears that the Forge Regent's right-click isn't a multi-hit attack. However, it DOES have one. I'm confused. EDIT2: Might also want to warn people NOT to drink the keg of beer  -

That may very well be the case. I do believe there is an optimal level. However, I don't think what you're saying is right because of 2 reasons: 1) Doesn't make sense logically. Combat is all run by formulas and attack is one variable. So higher attack must equal higher accuracy, unless levels after 75 all count for the same, which I doubt. 2) I've noticed a difference. Slight difference, since attack is hard to look at in this way, but I would say that my accuracy has improved. -
When I see something like this I wish I could find the person that posted it and choke him to dead. Who the hell are you to tell us how the game is designed ? Prove me wrong but there are 'nuff' activities that prove you wrong. THE GAME ISNT 100% AROUND SKILLS. Have a bad day :) Right, what else could you POSSIBLY do? It's called reasoning. While none of us where there when Jagex decided what the purpose of the game was, we can all assume that it is skills because of the content.

No you shouldn't. If you're a pure, you VOLUNTARILY choose to ignore part of the game. So if you accidentally train it, that's your own fault. If you choose to not train defense, then you must suffer any and all consequences that result from it, that includes accidentally leveling it up.

Why 4 stock? Always a 10 stock match for me when I want to train

I remember when they went as low as 250 gp once (or even lower? I forget). They've been on a constant (well, not constant, but overall) rise since RWT updates. Not very surprising tbh, but noteworthy I'd say. I remembered that as well. Hopefully more wcers will think about using yew logs for making money to bring them down again. I'm sure PvP drops have affected this as well? More people using PvP for moneymaking = less yew cutters = less supply = higher price. PvP probably played its role as well. But let's face it, without macroers, it probably isn't going to be under 300, or even 350 gp again.

The tips of a battleaxe aren't as pointed as in the picture. Also, only in pickaxes is the handle slightly seen above the axe head. This is not the case for a battleaxe. It's a pickaxe and it's most likely a typo.

Creating a F2P 99 Strength Pure (WIP) Weapons Done!
Zaaps1 replied to Deflikt0r's topic in General Guides
You'd have to train on a minster that has low attack (since you have 1 defense) and good drops. Try suggesting one. This would be easier for a range pure; they can safespot. Cows? -
Thunder owns. I mean honestly, thunder owns. If you're playing as Pikachu and aren't using Thunder a lot, then you aren't really trying to win the match. It would be like playing as Falco and not trying to Chaingrab/Laser Lock/[bleep]e. Best thing about it (I think) is that it stops all falling momentum when it actually makes contact with Pikachu. There are vids of people pulling of 5 thunders offstage and getting back onto the ledge. That's pretty good for edgeguarding, although very predictable and kinda easy to dodge once you catch on. Worst thing about it is that it's probably the thing that everyone expects.

[Updated 9 Dec] Reviving Smithing : Divinite
Zaaps1 replied to Zaaps1's topic in RuneScape Suggestions
I'm not very good at programming, but I'd imagine I'd only be 2 "if then" statements: If magic defense is <0, then double magic defense If magic defense is >0, then halve magic defense But in all honesty, it's stuff like this that Jagex should decide if it's possible, not the players. I respect (and appreciate) you bringing this up, but I think that Jagex knows if they can do it or not. If not, I'm sure they can just halve the level like you suggested. -

Not destroy the economy, just redirect a portion of it. Just because there are new items, doesn't mean that the prices of everything else will rise or fall (like the newest PvP artifacts updates threatens). It just means that more people will want to spend money of these items. I don't follow your logic. I don't see how number 1 will help at all, and I don't see how number 2 supports the point of this idea. Plus, it's fine in PvP worlds because of reasons stated in the post. -
GF slash spec setup: What do you think the hit % is?
Zaaps1 replied to HexiledRazz's topic in General Discussion
So let me see then. The attack bonus is ~32% of the defense bonus. 466 defense vs 147 attack. Now we can assume that the 99 attack and 99 defense cancel each other out. The super attack/sara brew also cancel each other out. However, piety and titan/void both favor defense. Piety gives 25% percent to your defense, but only 20% to your attack. So it would actually be level 124 defense vs. 119 attack (before potting, which results in an equal level rise anyway, so it can be ignored). Now, does Void gives bonus to your level or to your item bonuses? I'll look at both. If level: Add another 10% of 99 to the attack to make 129 attack level vs 124 defense level. Then take the 466 defense, add 15% to make 536 slash defense vs. 147 slash attack. That means that it would be a fight between 129 attack +147 against 124 defense +536. If item: Add 10% to the attack bonus for 119 attack +162 against 124 defense +536. Now another split: does 1 item bonus = 1 level? I'm almost certain it doesn't, but IF it is: If level: 276 attack v 660 defense: You'd be hit ~42% of the time If item: 266 attack v 660 defense: You'd be hit ~40% of the time
