Although MMO's are designed to be addictive, they don;t hold a gun to your head and force you to play either. You could've asked your parents to block RuneScape thorugh your ISP. I don't feel sorry for you at all. Sorry.(wait, that was redundant:| ) I have always been able to walk away and do homework and so have many others. Several top-rank players manage to work full-time and play RuneScape so yeah. You should watch the documentary "Second Skin". It is pretty interesting.

I regret not studying harder in school. I was never pushed so I never had the need to study for a test or anything. I got a 32 on my ACT's but that was luck. Its hard to study in college since I am an amateur at it.

IMPOSSIBLE! that argument would be valid, if said skills were actually "fun". hunter is a boring grind, summoning is again, another grind (tho some of the familiars are fun) and no one was talking about construction, because that was a skill done right. Why do you have to grind the skill? Can't you train slower and enjoy it. [troll]You Americans want everything fast. [/troll] Just slow down and enjoy the skills. No one is forcing you to grind them, if you choose to do so then you are making the skill boring not Jagex..

Maybe every skill doesn't have to provide some reward. Maybe there is this thing called "fun". You are looking at every skill like it has to have a specific purpose which enhances game play. You should enjoy the skills otherwise you need to go outside. Hunter -> designed to be relaxing Summoning -> One of the best skills since slayer. Construction -> Money drainer and a way to show off your creativity.

Its obviously FTP3,sailing ,and stellar dawn in a single update.

I am playing around with JMonkey Engine in Java + a runescape screenshot. Yes that is 1161 FPS. It is just a photoshoped pic of my character over a section of a game world I am working on. I made this because I was bored.

After a few processes, you could gain rapid xp in any dungable skill. I will not go into those processes as it has been fixed along with the RuneCrafting patch.

I am working on a basic text-based MMO. I built the chat server which handles text communication. Here is a pic of it handling over 70 users I am working on the command system for the chat portion now. The next feat is to design a scripting language which will allow me to add quests and monsters and what not.

In most of Europe (England included) you have to have a legal reason to fire someone, it's not like the US where you can fire much more liberally. I doubt any heads will role, because that would probably be illegal. yeah nobody should be fired, this is discussed time and time again and most people agree that code is incredibly complex and therefore it is a lot easier than people think to make these mistakes. They have ppl that get paid to test it before releasing. There's no excuse for screwing up like this. It's not like it was some small obscure glitch. This is nothing that has to be tested. Its a simple experience rate change which someone pressed an extra key. If they did test it, maybe they didn't test Rune Crafting?

Keep in mind they have over 110,000,000 player files to copy from storage. It could take awhile.

It effected more than RuneCrafting. They didn't roll-back on 6/6/6 did they?

Apparently Runecrafting wasn't the only skill effected by this glitch.

What I find so humorous is that nobody remembers how often they ban people for this and how easily it is detected. Are the only thoughts in their head "OH WOW I CAN GET FAST RC XP NOW!!!" Fat lot of good that xp will do if you're banned. Indeed. It's impossible to think those sort of xp gains are legit. I think it was just a mistype on the part of whoever was changing the xp to 2 and they put 20000 instead. Maybe his "0" key was sticking?
