I will speak my mind here. If you've ever heard of 'reverse discrimination', that's where I'm going. See, I get told all these things, by a certain race of people, words I can't say, because I'm of a different race (white). I wouldn't use these words, but I don't want to be told I can't say them due to my race. And then the issue of affirmitive action, of which I really despise, and I believe it is unfair, and unconstitutional. Another example is, I wanted to sign up to a scholarship to study abroad. Well, the only scholarship with 'choice' country I could sign up for was limited to every race except whites. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. I was also not able to participate in a community cultural art contest event, I heard about at school, because I was white. I wrote a complaint letter, so far, no response. Just my views, I'm open to constructive criticism. That's not that much of a problem in Norway. In Scandinavia, more women work than anywhere else in the world, and their just trying to keep it that way.

I agree with a lot of your points (especially the negative advertising) but I don't know why you consider these qualities to have to do with a true Democracy. What does state regulated funding have to do with the principles of democracy? Maybe you know something I don't... The core principle of democracy is the people's ability to decide about their own lives and to choose their own leaders from amongst themselves. What the United States has already turned into, is Plutocracy, i.e. rule by wealth. It is safe to say that without something groundbreaking event, it is now literally impossible to be elected president in the United States unless you come from a social background of enormous wealth or power connections, gaining multi-million dollar donations from corporations that want to further their agenda through you, ... And obviously, since the two major parties compete for power, small players like Ralph Nader don't stand a real chance. The people HAVE to choose one candidate over the another, one millionaire over another. While it is in theory democracy, the truly merited and politically aware people of America will never stand a chance of being elected as president no matter how much better they could do the job. Then, for example let's look at the current president of Finland. She is an ordinary woman with no significant family background who even worked in a gay rights group before getting into politics. She rose from an ordinary citizen to be the president by the power of the people. It almost sounds like an utopia in America, doesn't it? But countries like this do exist. It's just that in america everything is so polluted by money it is IMPOSSIBLE to advance to such high positions without cold hard cash. That moment, it stops being a democracy. And as you know it, the chances are zero that you or I, as citizens, ever could hold the position of president in America, no matter how hard we studied or worked in the field. In a democracy, all people have equal chances in politics before the people, should they be chosen to represent them. In america however, your opinion cannot be voiced if you are not extremely wealthy. I agree, however I do not believe our goverment is the exact definition of a Plutocracy, because that leads more towards Oligarchy. I do agree with your Finland example. I mean, the Prime Minister of Finland, is not only the Prime Minister of Finland, but is also the President of the European Union. And I don't believe he ever came from a family of immense wealth. That would be Matti Vanhanen for those who didn't know.

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I loved the nonstop action, the high IQ, the mystery, and the setting. The whole book was amazing, I'd highly recommend it. I have a friend who read a Russian book, it's in Russian, so I don't know its title. But he said, if you can read Russian, it's highly recommended, and he said it's, in his opinion, the best book in the world. I've heard that Russian authors are some of the best. I'll try to get a name, maybe there's an English version printed somewhere.

Yea, I agree. I agree that the goverments of Scandinavian countries know what they're doing for the most part. We should use them as a role model, if we weren't so ignorant. They are the best countries to live in in the entire world after all. And America is very biased when it comes to political campaigns. They will listen to someone who bashes the other canidate over a person who doesn't. Or at least, that's what I've experienced.

Does anyone else here really enjoy some of the Eurovision 2006 contestant artists. Any artists that you wish would produce more music? I know ESC 2006 was a long time ago, but I recently discovered it, and fell in love with it. And I don't think any such thread exists (if so lock). So any artists you really like? I really enjoyed Mihai TrÃÆââ¬Å¾Ãâ ââ¬â¢istariu, and TornerÃÆÃâÃâò. His voice is amazing. As well as Helena Paparizou, Mambo is a great song. Tina Carol from Ukraine was good too, and Carola from Sweden. As well as Anna Vissa from Greece, and Sibel Tuzun from Turkey was ok too.

Yea, I did, about 5 years ago. :D I didn't care for it much. But then again, the only 2 anime shows I ever liked were Tenchi (I forgot the whole name) and Sailor Moon. And I guess Pokemon, if you consider that anime. :( Aww, I miss Tenchi and Sailor Moon...

You know what I find helps to help break a regular routine. Go on a vacation, to another country. Go backpack through Europe, or on a cruise, anything. Just get away from life and enjoy your time alone, or with friends somewhere not near home. And don't worry about spending money, worry about that later, when you're home.

There have been what, 2 major gameboy revisions since it's come out? (Color then Advance). I don't really see what you're getting at here... Color, advance, SP, and the new micro. As well as the 2 versions of DS also by Nintendo.

It's as bad, if not worse, than the gameboy scam. You know, you'd have to buy the new gameboy for the new game, this is used in counsles too, except gameboys came out faster than counsles do, making it more effective.

That is totally cool! :D May I ask who is paying the $1000 dollar airfare and cost of living for your host family? If it's your school, than all I have to say is :shock: If I can get together $4000, I'd love to travel to Finland over the summer of my Junior year, the summer after this upcomming summer. I'd go for the whole year, but where am I going to come up with $8000? So that's an automatic no. I can try the scholarship though, probably wouldn't win.

I'm a lvl 3 skill pure, and while I'm making oak planks, I always notice like 2 or 3 construction bots everytime I log on. What's up with the recent increase of bots? It seems so sad people that rich couldn't just buy a butler (I can't yet) and make their own planks. But it seems a waste to make a construction bot. It has no real life financial gain. It's one of the only bots built for ingame play. I pity the high levels who own these bots, that they are that lazy on a virtual game. Not to mention it gives lvl 3's a bad name. Stupid people, and there stupid pointless bots. #-o I posted it here, instead of the rants forum, because I want to discuss these 'weird' bots.

Personally, I thought Connie was the best. Followed by Helna, and then Siobhan.
