  1. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/16/AR2006051601625_pf.html http://www.fpif.org/briefs/vol2/v2n9afr.htm http://www.jamestown.org/single/?no_cache=1&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=35148&tx_ttnews[backPid]=7&cHash=83faf38f19 That's not to say that the USSR didn't also supply arms to the area, but it's pretty ignorant to think of the US in a "holier than thou" light. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/03/13/alqaeda.saddam/ http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/0211-11.htm All the stories are incredibly convoluted though, so we probably won't know the full truth until another decade or so. Except they had had a nuclear program, and that nukes are exactly what the inspectors went into Iraq looking for before the war. Everyone knew he had biological and chemical weapons, but western countries have had those since WW1, so the hooblah wasn't about those, it was about nuclear weapons. http://books.google.com/books?id=rwsAAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA26#v=onepage&q=&f=false

  6. Gotta work on that quick draw mate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHFLwe98rYM#t=4m46s
  7. All I know is that you have a bunch of the islands in the Caribbean, but if I tried to add that in then I'd have to colour code everything...and well, [bleep] that.
  8. I have an appliance here that says made in China. Does that mean I bought it from the Chinese? Weapons have a tendency to float around from country to arms dealer and whatnot. Then when you look at all the Kalashnikovs that went "missing" after the collapse of the USSR... Just like virtually every country in existence. The Americans slaughtered the Natives, the Germans the Jews, the Turks the Armenians, the Russians the Eastern Europeans, the Spanish the Mayans/Aztech. What does it really matter? You aren't the world police, and if you decide to be, you'll just end up over-extending your military and racking up a huge debt trying to pay upkeep for wars you can't win (oh wait, that's exactly what's happening). It's mostly used in reference to nuclear weapons, which is what America went into Iraq looking for (even after inspectors found no evidence that Iraq could even manufacture them, [garden tool] hum) What a respectful debate participant. I envy you sir. Please include all relevant [/sarcasm] tags in you post, as my detector is under repairs atm.
  9. I'm only human :( I'm allowed to forget about things too, y'know! I updated it...
  10. I agree with you on this one though, one less dictator is good, and more democracy. I could add some more, but I'm tired of debating :P. You guys are delusional. The US supports and provides money to dozens of dictators - just look at Africa ffs, at least 50% of the weapons being used there were given to warlords by western countries (predominately the US). I don't really much care, I just find it quite annoying when people present steaming piles of opinionated [cabbage] and actually expect people to agree with them. + here's the funny thing. Saddam Hussein hated terrorists. There was no Al Queda in Iraq before the US came in, and Saddam would routinely execute known terrorists in public. Also, if there are modern industrialized western nations that can't get nukes, why do you think that some little pissant country like Iraq could get a nuclear arsenal without people noticing anything? (oh look a strawman!) /rant
  11. Not an up-to-date map in terms of borders, but if you're just looking at countries that are being played (as far as I know), here they are: Red underline is currently in play Black lines filling a country means it has been destroyed The underline below Germany is for Luxembourg (as it is too tiny to warrant naming on the map - lol) Israel is actually the "Kingdom of Jerusalem".
  12. Depends. Is your sister hot?
  13. You can export sand  :shame: I'll be the one laughing when global warming hits and your beaches are made of grass. I highly doubt that. If global warming hits Africa will become uninhabitable. Germany's temperature will transform into that of a Mediterranean country - meaning lots of $ from tourism. Just remember, to get us to the point we're at, it took us, in total, 15 years, and over a trillion dollars. Also, to any prospective members of the space program, I'll have to talk with indy500fan (norway). Tell him I say that Oblivion's level scaling was an atrocious game design fault.
  14. Alright, sort of a follow-up to my previous thread, since Nadril pointed out that my computer is in all actuality a piece of [cabbage] (if you read that with sarcasm there actually isn't - glad you mentioned it Nadril), so I've been digging around and I'm planning on putting together a custom PC (I'll probably end up getting all the parts, looking at them for 30mins then deciding to get someone to build it anyways), so I'm going to post what parts I'm looking at and hopefully some of the resident hardware junkies here on the TIF T&C forums can tell me if they'll work together/are actually worthwhile. I'm looking at a budget of around $600, as I don't need a top of the line PC, since graphics have never really been that big of a deal for me - I still occasionally play DOS games lol. So, here they are (intros are annoying, eh?): CPU/Processor: AMD Phenom Agena 2 (2.3ghz): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103244 Case: Raidax Smilodon: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156062 (PSU comes with the case, 500W) Motherboard: ASRock A780LM AM2+: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157153 RAM: G.Skill 4gb DDR2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231226 Video Card: Radeon HD 4670 512mb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127415 Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319 CD/DVD drive: Sony Optiarc Black: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827131061 I have an old Audigy Sound Blaster sound card sitting in the drawer next to my desk, so hopefully I can just use that. If not, sound cards are cheap as hell anyways. :P There. Have I missed anything? Heatsinks, fans, or any other doodads? And if anyone who's pretty well rounded with computer hardware wants to take a look at them and make sure they're compatible with each other it would be mucho appreciated. All the random computer specifications give me a huge headache (I actually read a giant article detailing the difference between DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 RAM. And I always thought DDR was a dancing game that Korean kids played in arcades...) In total everything comes out to just under $450 USD.
  15. You can export sand
  16. The only people who are ever truly remember for extended periods of time are philosophers, inventors, and conquerors.
  17. Eh whatever, I have bigger things to deal with (literally - Russia is quite a bit bigger than Luxembourg :P) Actually Christianity is sort of an umbrella, it encompasses both Catholic and Protestant. Much like Shi'ite and Sunni are both Muslims, they just subscribe to certain nuanced changes in belief from one another. So while Catholicism dominates most of Europe, and Protestant most of North America, they both fall under the umbrella of Christianity, which is what the Pope "rules". This is what lead to the Pope having such an influtential position in Medieval politics, as he was the higher authority of pretty much every European country. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_denomination I can find another link other than Wikipedia if you're one of those weird "blah blah Wikipedia can be edited by anyone!" people. :P Edit: random grammar and spelling mistakes.
  18. Hopefully I'll be able to find a bloody full time job by then. [bleep] the Mayans, they just got lazy and didn't figure they should keep going after 2012.
  19. I didn't realize we were at war. Anyways, Germany has sent a number of its people to help repair damaged buildings, but asks that in future situations to correct me when I post Luxembourg and Belgium as separate countries :x Germany laughs at Christianity's weak pope; a puppet of Luxembourg. Germany has changed its national anthem to Sons of Odin by Manowar [yt]qwebpUbFEqQ[/yt] "Sons of Odin we four..!! By the hammer of Thor! Ride down from the sky.... Another is born Another shall fall This day men will die!!!! Glory and fame Blood is our name Souls full of thunder Hearts of steel! Killers of men Of warriors friend Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers Sons of the gods today we shall die Open Valhalla's door Let the battle begin with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!" As is Germany, and regrets that it was not around to contribute to this project, so it could not overwhelm the crew and make this new planet New Germany.

Seriously. You don't know if you haven't tried it. It's like saying: "I could never get addicted to heroin, even if I did it everyday. Nope. My willpower is too strong for that!" Honestly, if you really think that it's as easy as just deciding "oh [garden tool] hum, I'm going to quit", there wouldn't be patches and gum and all this other hooblah that helps you quit, and there'd be a helluva lot less smokers.

Probably just some random script bug.
