Are you planning to update? You might want to add thieving as a skill, as you use it for gems, but the food stall also provides cheap training food, and you can use it to generate money for other skills.

Well, unlike everyone else, I disagree with VB as a starting point. After learning VB as my first language, I had to go back and unlearn everything I learned when I started learning C/++. "What do you mean windows aren't automatically created?!" I'd recommend Ruby, but that would probably fry anyone's brain when learning. If you want to try, here's a unique ebook on it: http://poignantguide.net/ruby/chapter-1.html C is a good language, but not a good starting point. I never did learn Python, but I hear it's great to start. I'd recommend it anyway, as I heard a lot of good things about it. Stay away from assembly ;)

I read most of this thread, most of the stupid arguments on both sides. To the topic creator: I read your arguments, lots of different sides, a solution. Nowhere in fact did I read why you think rares should be gone. You say they hurt the economy, you say that they will be phased out, et cetera, but you miss the point: Why should rares be removed? You are proposing a solution to something that isn't broken. The high prices are only high because - get this - people are willing to pay them. If people thought the prices were too high, then they just wouldn't buy them. Nobody is holding a knife to anybody's throat, saying that they have to buy a rare. Also, not as part of my argument, but you said that introducing more supply of the rares is a solution? It seems you just want party hats obtainable by all. The difference with that is, once they are obtainable by all, who would want to wear them? Those that do want the hats only want them because of their value - not because of the hats themselves.

Owned! Uh, yes actually. It's called rising real estate prices. You aren't making money, but if you were to sell your house, it would be worth more, so technically, you are. In this, you cannot resell your house. So the money is lost.

I made the same 400k in a much easier fashion than you ;) What I did was right after the update, I took a woodcutting axe, cut down 200 oaks, made planks out of them, then sold all 200 at once for 400k.

They take up less space, and I believe you do not need the magic level to use them.
