There are a couple that I follow, but most of them are of the traditional/old school nature - so if you know more specifically what kind of style you're looking for I could probably help you out more and find some other sites for you. http://www.theboldwillhold.com/ (traditional) http://preeminentpie...blr.com/archive (kind of mixed, but mostly american traditional and japanese) http://www.tattoosnob.com/ (just good tattoos all around, but a lot of traditional and realistic) http://swallowsndaggers.net/ (traditional and neo-traditional) http://[bleep]yeahqualitytattoos.tumblr.com/page/2 (realistic) (http://mikeadamstattoo.tumblr.com/) (traditional) http://meditationsinatrament.com/ (black-n-grey/dotwork)

If you're into realistic pieces like that one, this tumblr has a lot of quality stuff: http://[bleep]yeahqualitytattoos.tumblr.com/ ([bleep] as in intercourse) I'm usually not a huge fan of hyper realistic tattoos, but some of the stuff posted there just absolutely blows my mind. Like this one by Matteo Pasqualin:

It's pretty nice. Who's the artist?

Nah, not when Blizz releases a definite date like this. It's happening. It seems like the thing that's held it back a lot is them trying to balance the PvP stuff, but now that they've decided cut out that part from the release (it'll be added in a later patch) they can focus on just fine-tuning everything else which, at this point, is pretty much done. I've been playing the beta, and while I don't like how they've dumbed it down in order to appeal to a wider audience/console players, I'm still preordering the shit out of this. Playing Diablo 2 with my friends back in the day is one of my fondest gaming memories. Weren't all the older "release dates" definite though? Idk I haven't really kept up with it much. I really loved Diablo 2 but this has just taken so long I can't keep a major interest in it, i'll still get it, but I can't say i'm overly excited. How did you get the beta though? I don't think they've released a specific date like this before though, just "oh, sometime next quarter"; at most sort of speculating on a month. Also like I said, two weeks ago they said they'd skip the PvP stuff on release, citing it'll speed things up considerably. I applied for the beta and was picked. Hmm, on play.com it did have an actual date named for March a while back. Oh yes, game retailers love to do that, I guess in an attempt to gradually amp up the amount of pre-orders or something. But when a date is released by the very company that is actually making the game it usually tends to hold a slightly higher degree of legitimacy.

While it's a great thing to bring Joseph Kony's atrocities to light, there are some things you should know about the Invisible Children group before you spend money on them, or begin spamming "KONY 2012" everywhere. http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/

No worries man. Obviously we just prioritise different things when it comes to tattoos. I assume you coming from, I guess, a more theoretical approach therefore like the context and meaning, whereas me (and Vertigo) are really just big fans of tattoos as an artform, so we don't think any of that stuff is essential (or necessarily interesting) as long as the tattoo is done well and is visually interesting.
-
Nah dude, nothing in my post there was aimed at you in any way, and I honestly don't get how it could be interpreted as such. I was mostly just adding to the point Vertigo made about the Ink shows. I was talking generally, and in my exemplification happened to use the Catholic cross. I could just as well have said "a wobbly tattoo of [pokémon figure]". As far as I can tell nothing about your tattoo is wobbly, the lines are pretty damn straight! Like I said, I've got nothing negative to say about your tattooists's work.

You know the part in Miami Ink where Kat von D sits down with her new costumer (who coincidentally happens to be the singer from HIM), looks the person in the eyes and gently asks, "what is the story behind this tattoo?", after which she attentively nods at every single word as her customer wistfully recounts the story of how he accidentally dropped his favourite cat in a bucket of Clorox? Yeah, that shit never happens in real life. An anecdote from my very first session, I was explaining what the word in my tattoo means in Swedish (as it's in Icelandic), and I think my tattooist sensed I'd go into some boring personal stuff so she just stopped me and we immediately changed subject. I can't help but think that tattooists all over the world must wish for there to be a special place in Hell reserved for the people behind those shows, because they gotta have at least a few customers per week who at the drop of a hat will recount the boring story behind their wobbly Catholic cross tattoo.

Scoffing at people with silly tattoos is a bit like scoffing at someone for liking silly movies, most of the time you'll come off as a pretentious prick. A friend of mine likes key lime pie, so he got one tattooed. (bad pic) And it's one of my favourite tattoos. A major part of the western (particularly American) tattoo culture is, and always has been, about just silly as hell tattoos. It's been about silly guys and silly gals getting silly tattoos simply because tattoos as an aesthetic medium is hella' awesome. Just look at all the flash sheets from the '50s up until today, each flash piece is sillier than the other. I blame a big portion of this whole "a tattoo cannot be wacky it has to be super serious and ~MEAN SOMETHING~"-mentality on the drama fest shows like Miami Ink and its ilk. Because the general public don't really want to see a bunch of fat bearded men getting sailor tattoos of pigs [bleep]ing - sob stories featuring attractive people usually make for better TV; when that part of the community has mostly been a minority (except the attractive part because let's face it we're all dashing gentlefolk). Joking aside, you got a piece that obviously means something to you, and as far as I can tell it's done as well as it could've been, and you're happy with it. That's great. But to anybody else who looks at it, it means absolutely nothing and is not all that interesting to look at. I don't mean to discourage people from posting personal tattoos like these, but don't sit and sneer at other peoples' tattoos just because they can't whip out a 2000 word essay on the personal meaning behind them.

Great post. Yeah, I get what you're saying. What I always respond to people asking if I'm not worried I'll regret my current tattoo (as well as my future ones) in 20 years, is that no, I probably I won't. I mean yeah, I will undoubtedly regret some of them, but I figure that's more or less a statistic fact given that I currently have around 12 tattoo ideas planned. But I'm not worried about it. Because I know each one will be done well and by good artists; so while I might think some of the motifs are silly or don't have much of that ever-so overemphasized "sentimental value" after 25 odd years, I will always at least appreciate their aestethic value and the craftsmanship behind them. What I've noticed the most from people who regret their tattoos is that they usually got them made for the wrong reasons - or they didn't look into the different styles that exist... or how intricately detailed, vibrant and beautiful tattoos actually can be... or, like you pointed out, they weren't mature enough and got something badly done that they can't stand for later on. This will sound really pretentious but I think the key ingredient to staying happy with your tattoos ~your whole life~ is that you've gotta appreciate tattoos as an art form. Sorry, but the sentimental value of your piece is very likely to fade over the years, after which you're stuck with an uninspired CARPE DIEM on your chest, or your last name in calligraphic letters covering your entire arm. Of course you're going to regret that. Just spend time and do research beforehand, look at the wide array of different tattoo styles there are; look at good artists and their work; what makes their tattoos good and this other artist's work bad. Look into the important figures like Sailor Jerry, Mike Malone, Ed Hardy etc. and what they did and accomplished. It's really fascinating stuff. Don't look at tattooists like Kat von D or Ami James and think that this is what it's all about. And jesus christ stay away from kitchen scratchers. Anyway, enough lecturing. I don't really have a bucket list per se. I've got a few artists both here in Sweden and overseas that I'd love to have work done by. Personally a big, big fan of BigFatJoe over at Porky Royale Tattoo, Erik Lööf at Stockholm Classic Tattoo, Jeppe at East Street Tattoo. Overseas I absolutely love Mike Adams's stuff (US), I also really dig Miss Arianna (Italy), Jeff Gogue (US), Ondrash Konupčík (Czech Republic), Sa Jin (South Korea) and Thomas Hooper (UK). I'd die a happy man having at least one piece done by any of the overseas people (cuz I'm not big on travelin' yo). The above artists could really do whatever the hell they wanted on me. But mostly I'm gonna go about it in the way of: have kickin' rad tattoo idea -> find artist that can interprate said idea well and make it their own thing, also make it awesome. Btw, you might like Kelly Doty's work. She works from a parlour in Massachusetts. Not something I'd have done on myself personally but her style is so original and her attention to colours is absolutely mindblowing. While on the topic of appreciating different styles, it's so true. I think your tattoos that I've seen are great, but I don't see myself ever having any realistic/portait style stuff done on myself (except maybe the zombie Hepburn piece because that shit is brilliant). Same goes for a vast majority of my friends who's got tattoos, I can admire the hell out of the work but they're just usually not my style (e.g. lots of Asian stuff). Once again, a very good resurrection post. And hopefully this could spark up some interesting discussion!

In CTF games I'm one of those [wagon] who play tech. I started playing it because nobody would ever repair our generator/turrets/sensor, and then I kinda started liking it. I usually tend to play defense/support roles in other team-based games anyway. Plus I'm kinda rockin with the SMG + grenade combo and I'm quite the master at hiding turrets where they're hard to spot. In TDM matches I always play pathfinder though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuNy9v16uYE Best fan video I've seen so far. Really excellent editing. Also, there's apparently a big EU vs NA Tribes match in about 30 mins (if my timezone-maths is correct). HirezBart is commenting etc. http://www.reddit.co...rth_america_vs_ Why they decided to post the info on Reddit beats me.

I dunno, I quite like the new version of Bella Omega. Getting rid of the floating flagstand as well as the sensor at the top of the tower was a smart move, I think. But then again, I mostly play defense now so I can only speak for that part. Some classes are seriously overpowered now though. Giving the Tech a thumper for example is quite ridiculous. At least decrease the damage on that thing. Also, the Phase Rifle according to Hirez, works as intended, and no changes are planned. Somehow I doubt that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Gzp0GGG09M

I love Death. The chorus in Politicians In My Eyes really sounds like a '90s skate-punk song... except it was recorded in 1973, three years before Ramones recorded their first album. Absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it, and it still does. So far ahead their time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLlQbSELL2g Another really cool video, lots of blue plate action as well as mid-air flagpasses and rad background music to boot. Also for those interested, HiRez is releasing a monster of a patch later today that has some pretty drastic changes, 98% of which are for the better. Completely removing the fixed loadout for once, which will allow for much more customization á la Tribes 2. Also no more skill trees. And a lot more. Basically they're actually listening to player feedback.

It makes me happy to hear Real Estate are good live, I'd love to see them. Also congrats on having a female person looking at you. That sure sounds like something. Too bad you have a girlfriend though, otherwise you would have definitively gone and talked to her (because she was a cutie). Oh well. vv Anyway, good job!

Apart from being class and team-based FPS shooters, not very much. I would check out the "WTF is..." video, gives a good idea of what kind of a game it is. I downloaded it and steamrolled everyone in my server. For the game I played I got about 20 kills while they were all at around 5-10 kills. I would also say kills matter a lot less than in TF2. It's a lot more fast-paced and stuff. That midair flagpass in the video was awesome as hell, Azv. Same with the vehicle kill. My attempts at Shrike flying generally end that way, only with me dead instead of anythingelse. Yeah, kills have never really meant much in the Tribes games. A tech who's just helped maintain the base but has no kills can end up with more points than a Ranger who's fragged pubbies the entire round. Similarly in Team Deathmatch, someone who's been excellent at only skiing around with the flag without getting killed will end up with more points than someone who's got 20+ kills. And that is how a team-based FPS should work. Means you can actually play on a public server and not go crazy, because there is an actual incentive for people to play useful roles in their teams. And yeah, Shrike flying is quite difficult right now. I was a capable flier in Tribes 2, but in T:A the handling is a lot more tricky. Hi-Rez has said they're gonna focus on balancing the vehicles in later patches though. That's why people like this do my damn head in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqrLaS1enkY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAnvjSNp8q4 The shrike capping parts may look easy, but it's extremely difficult to time it right and then to actually maintain that speed as well. edit: also I saw a couple of mid-air flagpasses in a live tournament the other day. So yeah, people actually do that in the game and it is glorious.

Found a pretty cool semi-new trailer. Shows some neat stunts and such! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcNnU3D5rHc
