Government intervention has reversed evolution
highlanders replied to lordkrohn1626's topic in Off-Topic
You really don't understand do you? The USA has been placed in a position where it could do soo much good to the world, but it has decided to use that power to exploit people. Do you know what it would mean for a third-world worker to have 3 dollars an hour instead of 0.10 cents? It means he will be able to feed his family, buy clothes for his children, find a decent place to live, it means everything to each one of them. But companies don't do it, because it would lower their profits. The profits eventually go to rich business men, who have no use of further money, and waste it at their will. Who do you think deserves the money, the rich business man or the poor worker? Do you know why the rest of the world looks down on the USA, hates the USA? Because they have been the victim of your exploitation. You speak of friends and allies? The USA has none of such. Countries, such as the Canada by example, are very flexible and abide to the USA's wishes because they have no choice, it is that or they lose almost all of their economy. And the USA takes profit of that situation. You my child, need to open your eyes to the truth. -
Government intervention has reversed evolution

+1 hehe, amazing how as inept and stupid as we are that we are the world's superpower, and did that in under about 250 years, vice all the other countries who look down their nose at us, can't defend themselves, and constantly come running to USA for money and protection....i'd be embarassed :P I don't see how countries "come running to USA for money and protection". The USA did succeed in economic means, but at what cost? The USA companies have no shame at exploiting poor people all around the world. Haft of the chocolate you eat is the product of slavery, the t-shirts you wear were made by underpaid people working in unhuman conditions, and so on. Yes, USA businesses have traded morality for profit, that is something you should really be proud of, isn't that right? Truly the USA is such a beautiful example of morality, and generosity. No offence intended to americans, I am talking only about companies. American citizens are also victims of what is happening, lied to by their government, and ripped off by their own companies. -
That man doesn't deserve being called pope, he is narrow-minded, and judgemental. Imo, the vote was tricked.

RSOF, of course. No point in asking which forum is "better", that is highly subjective.

Lol? In all cases, it doesn't matter. If it's not you that buys it, it's someone else, they will always find sellers.

Why do people insist on repetitive things?
highlanders replied to fakeitormakeit's topic in Off-Topic
Very true, I'm glad you understand that concept. Superiority and inferiority is only an illusion. There is no such thing as people superior to others, when people think that it is such, it is based purely on subjective aspects, and common beliefs, not reality. Pride has brought nothing else but negativity to humanity. -
What would you do? Spiritual beliefs in relationships
highlanders replied to highlanders's topic in Off-Topic
It's not that easy. Beliefs work on the unconscious side. Someone religious and obese by example may believe "My body is only the vessel of my soul, it is not important", but the obese person does not consciously know he believes that, and he wonders "Gee, why did I end up obese?!" while the answer lies in introspection of his mind, and of his actions. The obese who realises this can try to change his beliefs to by example: "My body is my temple". Since he is religions, and that a temple is important for him, chances are he will lose weight. But it's not an easy task to change beliefs. Especially in spiritual beliefs. In the case of that obese man, it was obiously better for him and for his health to have the belief number 2, but in spirituality, it's difficult to make the difference between good and bad beliefs (as in good belief equals better for the psychological health of the individual). Yes you can choose what you believe, and hah, it's not an easy task. Most of the beliefs we have were forced upon us by the medias, not by our own free will. Example: People who are thin are better than people who are fat, a very spread belief. And having such beliefs is very depressing for people who are fat, especially if everyone around them have that belief aswell (which they do). -

Is 2 hours enough? Depends. To stay in a stable physical shape, yes. Is it enough to become or stay healthy? Depends. If you eat unhealthy daily, 2 hours a week won't turn around the path your going towards. If you eat healthy, it helps, but it won't do much. In short, it's not enough to make any difference in the kids' life. 5 hours on the other hand... How much I do of physical activity each week really depends. Some weeks, I am out and constantly doing physical activity, and on weeks like this, I am home and taking it relax, and not doing much of anything.

I don't see how that's a spiritual belief, if it's even a belief at all. I suppose the line between spiritual belief and regular belief if fairly blurred, but I think you're taking my belief a little too far into the realm of spirituality. I have no opinion about gods. For all I know, Ra is flying up at the sun, warming the earth and laughing at all the hysteria about the global rises in temperature. I just don't know, and I don't intend to act like I do. I consider a spiritual belief what you base your life on, it's something very deep. As the word spiritual says, it's something from your spirit. By example, buddism, it's a spiritual belief, even though god has little or no part in the lives of those who follow that philosophy. I think we seem to disagree become we don't consider spiritual beliefs to mean the same thing. But believe me, you have spiritual beliefs, it's just that you don't call them that way. Spiritual doesn't always equal religion. You can't know consciouslly what beliefs you have, just try to guess. -
Ellen DeGeneres, always a good laugh. Her jokes, but also just merely how oddly she acts.

Mind you, I'm not in your head, so I can't know exactly what your beliefs are. But from what I read, I'd say you value truth, and are not interested into trying to prove things that cannot be proved. You don't regard something as real or unreal, just unknown. If I were to translate that into a phrase that you'd tell yourself in your head: "I don't think god exists or doesn't exist, it's just a mystery", that would be an example of a belief that you could have using your scheme of thought. -

What would you do? Spiritual beliefs in relationships

Not really. In my post I thought I clearly stated that I wouldn't want to marry someone crazy about atheism, 'cause that'd be just as annoying to me as another theist. So no, I'm not an atheist  . Sorry if you got the wrong impression, but I didn't "sabotage myself" :P . I could understand if you didn't quite knew what you believe in, but you probably already know what you don't believe in? And in that way, you already have beliefs. Someone without any beliefs would be someone who never heard of any religion, or school of thought, or anything at all, a newborn baby by example. No such thing as belief-less adults. You say you are not athiest, which means you already have beliefs that go against athiesm. -

I think people do that because it's funny. And well, if you don't find it funny that's when you get bothered by it. They're moments I guess. Group insanity. -

Lol rebdragon you sabotaged yourself. You say you have no beliefs, while you just expressed to us your belief, which is athiesm. There's a big difference between having a belief, and talking about it. Now I'm talking about situations in which the beliefs of someone else directly affects your life in a palpable way. -
We all have core spiritual/religious beliefs. Now, in a love relationship, how does that affect you? What if you were in love with someone who was, by example, a radical christian while you're an athiest. Your girlfriend does not want sex before marriage, she wants to bring you at the church every sunday, she wants a ton of kids, and so on. You on the other hand, don't want to know anything about the church, you don't want kids, you don't want to marry yet. What would you do? Would you try to reform your partner to your ideas, try to cope living with that person, be reformed by your partner, or simply quit the relationship? It would be interesting if you or people you know have been in such relationships, and how things happened. After all, think at it, what would you do if the man/woman of your dreams was in a weird religion? It's like a bad surprise. Becuase you never know who you have a crush on might really be, belief-system-wise.
-
Because believing in god equals thinking sex before marriage is wrong? How incorrect. This is exactly the kind of attitude that is really annoying. Every time someone mentions god or the afterlife, everyone assumes he's a nutty believing in all the lies of the catholic religion and saying what you just said reinforces that image. Next time, say "I believe in God and I don't think it's right [to have sex before marriage]". The two are not connected, and don't always come together.

Elpadrino, nice post, finally someone who understands. Don't expect much support from the people here though, they're so much in it they don't even realise what's happening to them. Most people admit they have a problem only when it gets really bad.
-
One article being incorrect or biaised doesn't change that fact that it is true. Simply search on internet, countless pages on the subject. All you are interested in is flaming, not learning. But that's no surprise, this is OT, all that you guys here are interested is flaming, and thats it. I'm not learning you anything new by telling you that, am I? God you people are so frustrated.

You know I am right and you decided to continue living in your little bubble. Suit yourself, no one can get you out of your bubble unless you want it to.

Poor Nadril, is it too hard to type on google? You need mommy to do it for you? Waah wahh? http://www.energiseforlife.com/list_of_ ... _foods.php http://www.thewolfeclinic.com/acidalkfoods.html http://www.advancedhealthplan.com/foods.html http://ezinearticles.com/?How-Body-pH-C ... ls&id=4670 http://www.nontoxiclife.com.au/index.ph ... &chapter=0 http://www.alkalineplanet.com/ http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m ... _n15784316 http://www.relfe.com/health_natural/pH_ ... vel_1.html In a nutshell, eating too much acid reduces the oxygen to your brain. Also, the brain is an alkaline organ, to function and develop properly, he needs alkaline. Of course, this is much more complicated than this, but I trust your brain has enough alkaline to find google?

Psychologists have proven that people often attempting suicide do it to get attention, to show people they need help, and unconsciously won't truly try to kill themselves. It's a way to ask for help.
