A clue's reward is not determined when its dropped
highlanders replied to brjo555's topic in General Discussion
Nice find. -
That's probably true for real life societies but not online ones. Don't worry, humans are very strong, swear words are not going to hurt anyone. You know, this reminds me of that 1-2 years old Johnny Depp movie, The Libertine, you had to be 13 yrs old to see it in theaters, but it was a really dirty movie, but nothing explicit, so it got away with a 13 yrs old rating. So you could be a 13 yrs old fratboy, and hear sex moanings in a big screen theater, lovely isn't? Now in the entrance, they didn't check people's ID cards, they usually don't for 13 yrs old ratings, so you could probably get away with being a tall 11-12 years old and see the movie anyway. So let's see, this is a lot like Runescape, nobodys checking if you're truly 13, or even enforcing that law, and you can have access to this lovely Runescape game with it's heartwarming community. A few more swearwords isn't going to hurt anybody, a lot less than sex moanings don't you think? Maybe block the worse swearwords, and make a few rules. It's really gone ridiculous when saying "tip.it" gets yourself banned. At the point where it is now, the frivolous rules are just there to rob us of our liberties instead of doing any good.

Tip.It Times Presents: I have the answer, Mr. Runescape!
highlanders replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
Runescape can help you type faster, but not properly with the good technique. Learning the correct technique saves a lot of time in the long run as opposed to learning it any other way. The rest of the points were very weak. Pointless article, stop making excuses, Rs like any other mmorpg is a waste of time, and you all know it. -
I never was a noob, noob is an idiotic attitude, and never I had an idiotic attitude in Runescape.
-
In A LOT of other mmorpgs, there's no rules at all except a few obvious ones, and the games are percetly doing fine. I say why not, if chaos occurs, perfect it makes things entertaining, if a better Runescape comes out of it, perfect.

F2P becomes utterly pointless for people past a certain level though.

If I look at the scales idea, I guess what you want is a drop system that garantees you get the item after x kills. So let's say player A takes 1 kill to get a full drag helm (seen a post on it in rate this forum :) ) and player B who takes 1000 kills to get the same item. Then you propose the garantee of having it after 500 (scales) kills. There's no difference, except that instead of it being a gamble of lucky/unlucky, you play it safe. The whole concept of "good" and "bad" players is just ridiculous though, only the most experienced players "deserve" the drops?

My country house, but in town there's no spot to relax where I live :(

Don't sqwish the bread, fruits and eggs. Don't overpack the bags, or make them too heavy.

What would be the most useless item to have irl?
highlanders replied to D3M0NX's topic in General Discussion
Runes, they would be mere pieces of rocks with some child's drawings on them :P -
You do realise the 2 legs/hour/server was an example of what a drop system like that would look like, and not based on any facts?
-
I'd love it if they reseted the game. Everyone would be at lumby, fighting over cows, and there would be more opportunities for socialization then if everyone is at the same spot :o There's would be no more rares, and no more money craze for them :) Everyone could raise their main with pure stats thing which they didn't know how to do when they were newbie. All the overly rich people would dissapear, Jagex wouldn't need to do "high level" updates for a while  , the people who quit would stop taking space in highscores, and the overall joy of starting all over and fresh again.. Jagex is never going to do that, and endanger their company, I'm praying for their servers to have hard disk failuire

I read a few theories about it, but how actually works our drop system? By example, someone said that it may work like that of other games: some people are deemed lucky others unlucky and this affects their drop rates throughout the game. Another theory was that there is a maximum of rare drops per server/per monster/per x time. Example: 2 dragonlegs per one hour from steel dragons per each server. And if someone of your server has already gotten the dragonlegs of your hour, you're wasting your time. Are any of you expert or know a little about our drop system? With some observation, we may we able to find some clues. Because obviously our system is random, but there's more to it than simply the word "random". This is important, if we could guess how our drop system works, we could heighten our chances of rares drops among other things.

Noobs-- Where exactly do they come from
highlanders replied to ikraz66's topic in General Discussion
Miniclip is not the main culprit. As soon as Rs2 came out, more and more unwanted individuals have started to play. Runescape attracts them like flees. -

lmfao if u read what i said... i started rs2 at 86 with nuttin'... which means i kept all my stuff on classic which i did have phats. and plus, stats are more important then rares. Not to mention classic was 3x harder than Rs2. -
Tip.It Times Presents: Are They Only Pixels?
highlanders replied to MPM's topic in General Discussion
True, it's losing time and effort, but time and effort you knew were a waste in the beggining. As opposed to money you make from painting, the money is not a waste, you can use it to buy real things. Virtual money, you can buy more virtual things with it, in a virtual world that does nothing else than waste your time. Real money, you can buy a car to move around your town. you can buy a gift for a friend, you can go at a restaurant with someone, etc, real money has so much more value. -
D legs, got them yesterday.

Luring And The Ditch, Your Thoughts? ~new Video On Youtube~
highlanders replied to scorpionveno's topic in General Discussion
Ingenious trick :) It's not luring, it's not done the same way as the original luring. Besides, I'm sure Jagex are over their heads with hearing about luring. The idiots had their ditch, now it's finished, whatever happens in the wild now is pking that's all. In Rsc, there wasn't any rubbish about protecting people from their stupidity, pkers could do everything they wanted. Gee it's just a game, let people have their fun, even if some are sad because they lost virtual possesions. -
They're brave, weak old men as they are they could get robbed!

Actually, there's studies, I was just hearing about them the other day on the news, that shows that power always corrupts if you give it some time, even very righteous people. There's no "type" of people that cannot be corrupted. But I agree it's impossible to corrupt pmods in this particular case; they barely have any power, or any reason to be corrupted.

I think the worse is the brainwashing.
