  1. If you just want melee XP, bandits are great, easy and fairly AFK as long as you drink a dose of potion. I don't think your defense is high enough to not need pray though. I am encouraged to level up for tasks and quests. These are great goals to accomplish. I also suggest training slayer, as it will get you decent combat xp as well as gaining access to lots of great $ monsters.
  2. Glaivens are only 5m more than rangers on GE, and are a better choice, although not that much better. But if you're going to upgrade the snakeskin boots (virtually free) to something, I would just save for glaivens.
  3. 5:5s are the best XP, but you need a team that will work well with you. 1 or 2 deaths isn't that bad as long as the time/floor is pretty low. 5:1s are more relaxed, though, I think. You do suffer quite a loss doing 5:1 instead of 5:5 (assuming same number of deaths) A lot depends on your teammates, and strategies involved. A good keyer, and a team who uses gatestones correctly can prevent deaths (keeps ggs safe when possible, and always keep your own gates safe when possible). Good teams means less food hogging, proper prayer usage and blocking monsters. It reaaaally depends on your teammates and you working together. And of course what you have bound. (ssh really helps prevent being killed by a lot of random skeletons and such)
  4. Wasn't that around the time ashes were released?
  5. Also, in regards to total XP, they could store that value as a string and obtain it from the highscores database as string content. It doesn't have to be an integer variable. But 784 is right, regardless of whether they can change the 200m cap, I hope they only do it when they wanted to, not simply because it can be done.
  6. If you have that low a view of the company I'm interested why you still pay them anything. Move to a game backed by someone you feel has more integrity..?
  7. He's suggesting that there are simply more members only items than f2p items on the wheel. But I disagree, considering the rate at which we land on 50gp, buckets and so on. I believe f2p accounts have a fairly high chance of landing their 1 spin on a members item.
  8. I do wish that they would auto make 1 potion if that's all you can make. (Don't bother showing us the make-x screen for only 1 item). Also, I'm of the opinion that the display shouldn't even show if there is only one choice. Just go ahead and cut all the gems, really... No reason to make us move the mouse and click again.
  9. Bandos on female characters looks pretty different. Also, the towel running down the front of the tassets needs to be shortened, as it nearly reaches our shoes now...
  10. But we don't *know* that. Just because Jagex claims the XP will be great... we can't have hard data until the update is released. And since it hasn't even been announced in a BTS, only talked about at runefest.. It might be good to wait.. but that can be said of any skill since they all potentially have gamechanging updates in the future. It might be worth waiting, correct. And if he has other skills that need a lot of work, for which he already has supplies and a plan for.. I don't see how it could hurt. But there is potential for not gaining anything. (And losing perm ranks, but I don't think he cares too much about that)
  11. Me too.. but I also doubt it. At least I have other diary required skills to train.
  12. Possibly, but we don't even know if the RC update will actually increase XP rates. Because updates happen all the time, changing play styles now to potentially benefit from unknown possibilities later is very tricky.
  13. I wouldn't mind if the Daemonheim task set increased chance of slayer drops/spawns, or added a bind that could only be used on slayer drops... (Obv with fairly high requirements) Also, an interesting idea is not to give a *free* pray restoration, but increase the cap on pray restore from alters by 1 full restoration.
  14. This is because some items are in both categories. It just depends on what you get listed. Certain items seem to *only* be in the super rare slot while most rare items appear in the rare or super rare slot. Effectively working like a chance to put a super rare into the super rare slot otherwise leaving the rare item there. As for spins having to do with the item.. that *would* be bad game design as it would allow some minor predictability which I believe shouldn't be any part of a random wheel of reward items. Should be 100% random. The bugs that came with are regrettable of course. And Jagex could do a lot of things much better.
  15. A sudden change = new bot client
  16. Basically everything except tree has alright xp for that skill (since so many people already have or don't want high wc). The tree and mine and loom are terrible anti-social because its hard(er) to type and chat at the same time. However, the big thing is that it takes about 1-2 hrs depending on how focused you are in order to complete the entire cap. And the benefit isn't that much, except for cloth which has great xp. but like you said, EVERYONE wants to do loom, or the kiln or the bars. No one *wants* to do tree or mine as much, so it means you can't finish and get the thing higher. Plus there aren't that many gains except looking pretty.
  17. According to RaF announcement it doesn't stack, if I recall correctly.
  18. That's why I have a batch waiting already :)
  19. But someone will ofcourse (probably without a straight face)
  20. Keep in mind for tasks also that some can just be arbitrary skill requirements like "make xyz in port phasmatys" if they wanted to add high level requirements for something they haven't required yet on the elite set yet.
  21. The loom is almost as intensive as tree, but without as much movement. You have to click every animation still. (You stop after each batch of xp, unlike kiln, obelisk etc)
  22. Even when using the pyrefiend method?
  23. Keep in mind this isn't just a gnome update, but appears to be a gnome-area update, meaning the grand tree as well. The gnome avatars have definitely changed, but grand tree hasn't really changed much since release besides a few quest areas. Yeah, yanille could use an update, tbh
  24. You could do curly roots. Not quite as much xp as magics but free.
