  1. Both formulas are flawed. Prayer and summoning need to be included, even if its only a negligible amount. I preferred the old formula but it was too stacked towards melee. We need a new formula.
  2. High level content = yet another ridiculously hard boss monster. yipee *yawns*
  3. I think they've missed a trick. They had the chance to truly do something incredible and compete with the big boys of WhatsApp, Line, Viber, chatOn and Telegram etc. A native app that not only lets you chat to you friends but also those playing online as well. In order to succeed it needs to go native (for background processing and push notifications) and remain logged in (even when in-game). Think how many new players Jagex could have enticed into the game if people initially started using it just for chat. It also needs the stuff from the toolbar adding into it as well. Ports is a bit more complex and might require a separate app to avoid making the companion too bloated (it already is too bloated).
  4. This is what I am going to post on the RS forum later today as I cannot access it from where I am for security reasons... I'll try to be brief with my comments as many of them have been said before but I want to ensure that I've got them out of my system in the hope that they will be actioned upon or at least considered. A couple of bugs: -It is a cumbersome system to chat. You have to click the text box once to open the soft-keyboard then again in order to place the caret for typing. Thankfully pressing the [Go] button on the keyboard does the same thing as pressing the [send] button and keeps the keyboard open but that doesn't leave much room for typing. It's not particularly user friendly in the UI department. -It's too easy to log out of Clan chat when trying to click the box to write a message -Timestamp on the messages please. If you log out and come back another day your messages still show and it's confusing. Comments: I'm going to also reiterate what other people have said about the webapp. I understand the complexities of Runescape and the html5 client and that there is still a lot of work to be done with regards to optimisation to improve performance but why does it still need to be a webapp? It's not true that a native app would give no extra benefits. Google has proved with their iOS apps that you CAN mix html5 with a native app wrapper. This keeps the control like you have mentioned but also added benefits such as api access to the OS which webapps cannot use. By keeping it in browser we miss out on really awesome stuff like push notifications of private messages and background refresh. If you have to write multiple versions for desktop and mobile then so be it. It makes no sense to have a jack of all trades, master of none app. If there is demand for a simple online chat in browser then make a special version which is JUST that, and then put the cool stuff in mobile apps. The current roadmap doesn't bode well for future features. A limited grand exchange access would be incredible but unless you receive live notifications of changes it's merely a show feature with no real value to people who want instant information on what’s selling/buying etc. The same for distractions & diversions or new newsposts. People have done some really clever stuff with the xml access to the toolbar data there's no reason we can't get an official app that gives push notifications on that. What has been achieved in the short time frame is admirable and the design is nice but I fear that unless the companion goes native any feature released is going to be crippled as best. At the moment it is a bloated, sluggish and feature limited system that I don't foresee much use of beyond the novelty at present. iPhone 5, iOS7, Safari with icon saved to home screen.
  5. I do not understand the combat mechanics anymore. I've played RuneScape for over 12 years.
  6. Vorago got made harder... again *shakes head and sighs*
  7. Edit: Didn't notice this was posted in the swiftkit forum. apologies.
  8. This was the last time I watched MLP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CnOysetlQw
  9. The ponies seem a bit silly to me. We all know that concept art never looks like the final product so we won't get those big shiny eyes and neon glow it'll just be some particle effects on the horn. I'm a bit worried that some of the Jmods appear to be influencing a bit too much based on what THEY like, not what's best for the community. Potential for bad things if that keeps up. It also looks too much like an April fools... this has BETTER be a guaranteed content poll that needs 75% of the vote to pass! As for the macroing rules, the wording Jagex have used implies that people can't even use the built in accessability tools anymore as they move more than one pixel at a time. My asumption is that they have just whitelisted the behaviour of the official windows tool. There is a LOT of abuse using AHK and while many people use it legitimately, there are probably equally, if not more, people using it to skirt the rules and depressingly it's the high level and elite players doing it. Why?
  10. I can also vouch for Recuva, used it to recover a friend's photos from her main hard drive after her backup drive died and she'd deleted from her main computer.
  11. Ooh, thanks for that! EDIT: It's a song for Premier news club gold-members only? but it's so feelsgoodman ;_; By the way the I loved all the cosplay, it's greater to see older folks at it too, I definetly want to be there next year. Anyone can download it. Here's the direct link http://www.runescape.com/downloads_music.ws www.runescape.com/img/main/downloads_and_media/downloads_and_wallpapers/assets/Har'Money_Remix.mp3
  12. The song in the highlights video is called Har'Money Remix and was reworked by Mod Ian in 2010 for the first RuneFest.
  13. They said they hope to release it before christmas, that's only a few weeks away now. Oh wow then I can't wait to see december BTS. It'll be interesting how it works. If you put aside the game features such as Grand Exchange alerts, stats and hiscores lookups, D&Ds (basically everything currently available in the Toolbar) Jagex are getting into the territory of multiplatform instant messaging. Will RuneScape compete with WhatsApp, WeChat and Telegram?
  14. They said they hope to release it before christmas, that's only a few weeks away now.
  15. Urgh, I didn't see the video but I was there for the actual real think so I know what happened. Didn't think it was anything worthy of having the piss taken out. I thought he was quite sweet.
  16. Video of Jake? What him collecting his Golden Gnome?
  17. To generalise (which I don't like doing but I'm going to say it anyway) aren't all the big YouTbe "celebs" either on Jagex payroll now or have always been about begging for donations so this isn't a surprise.
  18. Perhaps they are allocating certain numbers per day?
  19. Who's that handsome chap at 1:04 in the pale blue tshirt? :P
  20. If you look up the lethal dose for potassium chloride, the oral value is 2,600 mg per kilogram. If you weigh 75 kilos, you would need to consume 75 * 2,600 = 195,000 mg of potassium to reach a fatal level. That’s about 487 bananas worth. Potassium chloride is only around half potassium, so you might need to eat fewer bananas (containing K rather than KCl) than that to achieve toxicity, say by half. But the result is the same – It's hard to imagine that people who are healthy are going to be killing themselves with bananas. While 50 bananas is a LOT of fruit, its still far short of 250 let alone 487.
  21. I'm pleased to tell you he survived :D
  22. Lol so THATS why a Jmod on Twitter was attempting to eat 50 bananas in real life!
  23. Looking likely that the official forums for Ace Of Spades, which ran open source forum software (I'm told it was phpbb but as I don't play it I don't know) not jagex's proprietary one, got exploited. If you had an ace of spaces account then you might want to consider changing your passwords.
