  1. On 21st July I wrote... http://forum.tip.it/topic/325349-14-jul-2014-%E2%80%94-legacy-mode-launch-global-combat-improvements-and-gear-guide/page-10?do=findComment&comment=5507788 How close were my predictions? 1. Expect it to change its attack/fight mechanisms every time you fight - As well as the different mechanics each week it also gets harder every time you fight it, resetting at 1am 2. Sometimes it'll be resistant to magic, others to melee and you won't ever know until you start the fight - Each path triggers different fight mechanics 3. Oh and make a single misclick?.... instant death - Watch out for those highly acidic spiders. 4. Also it costs 10m gp each time to fight - A rather modest 200k to fight. I was exaggerating about the 10m but I knew Chris L couldn't resist charging at least some GP. Only one person or duo can enter the base world instance at a time. If someone is already inside, you will not be able to enter and have no option but to pay the fee. 5. Takes about 2 hours - Wildly off for this one but by the time you add up the repairing of gear and collecting resources it probably does take quite a while. Looks like you need really top end gear to fight as well. How much developer time was spent on something so few people will ever play?
  2. It's a Mod Chris L boss so I wouldn't hold your breath. Expect it to change its attack/fight mechanisms every time you fight. Sometimes it'll be resistant to magic, others to melee and you won't ever know until you start the fight. Oh and make a single misclick?.... instant death. Also it costs 10m gp each time to fight.... and takes about 2 hours.
  3. It took me a couple of days how to work out getting back to EoC after switching to Legacy on the popup lol. I wonder how many other people went to legacy but don't know how to change back...
  4. Once more, "legacy mode" is - auto attacks - old combat animations - old style interface If you just want old style combat, use momentum. Exact same thing. It is auto attacks. But silly lifepoints and hits. We aren't able to pick and choose which legacy elements we want. It's either/or. :(
  5. It's a shame that with Legacy mode we go back to the old animations and stances. I love the new models and fighting emotes and moves I just want simple old combat back hehe.
  6. I'm sure Zybez radio wasn't officially licensed either when it ran, and it ran for a long time. Two wrongs don't make a right. I never listened to Zybez radio but we can look into RuneRadio which is run by RuneZone and we can see that it IS fully licenced.
  7. The first few promotions on the SoF were very tempting to buy for. In fact I did buy a package early on for something, don't remember what was on promo anymore though so goes to show how useful that item must have been hehe. Unfortunately, and Sy_Accursed hit the nail on the head, there are now simply so many promotions and the game is saturated by "unique" items that are now no longer desirable because there's simply too many. Occasionally I horde a handful of spins keys from tasks and challenges but most of the time I don't bother anymore. It's also a shame that these items don't become available ingame somehow a year or two after being on promo. E.g. Randomly found while skilling or a boss drop or even in treasure trails. There's a lot of development time put into things which are only available ingame for 4-5 days.
  8. It's too complex for me. Tried a few times. Managed to kill one person, died about 15.
  9. You're broadcasting unlicensed and illegally. As someone who works in the radio broadcasting industry I should report you. Source: Me, Director at FromeFM (a community radio station at 96.6FM in the Frome area)
  10. Why would you want it added to bank pin? If you've got the authenticator on login you don't need it again on pin.
  11. Jagex posted this official wiki article http://services.runescape.com/m=rswiki/en/Authenticator_codes_on_a_desktop_or_laptop
  12. Blimey a web based generator :S You do realise that whoever is hosting can grab that code as it's generated? You are much safer using something like WinAuth which runs locally if you really MUST use it on desktop.
  13. A positive element of this is that it will introduce the concept of multi-factor authentication to a large number of people who will then hopefully implement it on their email accounts and social media sites. I have used the authenticator for years for Gmail, LastPass, Dropbox, Facebook and more. I don't know why Jagex didn't enable the authenticator to login to the website though which is a bit odd. You can still do a lot of damage to an account by posting malicious things on the RSOF which could get someone banned. Usually when 2-step is enabled you need it all the time, it's a good start though. I still don't understand why despite now implementing a really robust method of authenticating you still can't use case sensitivity or symbols in passwords.
  14. Yeah, it starts off ok but the shape at the bottom is awful.
  15. What Jagex need to do next as well is enable capitals and symbols in passwords. At the moment passwords are not case sensitive and do not allow symbols or punctuation. My RuneScape password is my weakest scored password out of the 100+ unique ones I have for every website/service.
  16. To get through my Jag they would have to get into my Gmail, and since I have two-step on that, it's already safeguarded with a code from my phone... Anyway, looks like the Ninja Team had a busy week! The same for me, but not every email provider has implemented a form of multi-factor authentication yet. Good news is that Gmail uses the same authenticator app as RuneScape so no need for additional apps :D Everyone should use multi-factor authentication, the same apps can be used to secure LastPass, Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox and more... I've heard stories though of people having JAG disabled without any actions over email. Normally I'd disregard this sort of anecdotal evidence but its from people I trust, real life people I trust.
  17. Massive applause for the authenticator (even if it does come 2 years later than my suggestion). Extra applause for going with a tried and tested standard as well rather than their own implementation. I have a sneaky feeling that JAG has been able to be bypassed for quite some time, there's no getting around this.
  18. No push notifications... *shakes head*
  19. Do you have a recovery disc that came with your computer? You are often given one which can reset your computer back to factory settings.
  20. Can't really blame them since it wouldn't surprise me at all if maxed (or "high level") players are the majority of the playerbase now. With the huge amount of free xp Jagex is flinging at everyone these days for doing bugger-all, we'll all be maxed soon.
  21. If they change it, I want a reprinted set of RuneScape Top Trumps cards. Ta.
  22. The fact you're only using t40 range gear with be a bit of a giveaway though... Besides, if I decide to pick a fight with someone irl - I have no clue how 'skilled' they are in fights either. I can only assume that the muscular guy might be a bit harder to fight then the slim short guy. However, the latter may have martial arts training and the first one is all power but no brain, or slow as hell. Combat level is only an indicator of 'skill' (well, stats more actually), and is NOT exact science. So I don't feel it should be made to be so anyway. Given the current level distribution, one may as well assume 99s all around :) But it's a bit boring seeing so many people at level 200. I'd like to see some variation in the numbers even if it didn't make any difference in practice.
  23. But the highest 2 is going to be misleading. If you are 99 defence and strength but only 48 ranging and you happen to be doing some ranging pvp your combat level is over stating your potential. I liked the idea of it showing three numbers on rollover Melee Range Magic
