  1. What'll it be? Helium or tight pants? Or both?
  2. This dilemma assumes the existence of a god, which I don't. Therefor I can't answer.
  3. When I'm watching big brother, I want the terrorists to win.
  4. Oh man, that takes me back... I can't believe I used to find that stuff entertaining... but then again I was 8 :-w

Yeah, just in time for the release of a DVD on the old DX... who'd've thunk it... :-k
  6. The image of the US being the best sporting country in the world comes from the fact that there's an overly strong focus on the sports that are popular there - Baseball, American Football and Basketball. Other than these three, there are no sports where America is a constant dominating factor. I'll admit that they're popping up in the top rankings more often than most countries, but that's mostly a cultural thing. Competition is simply far more important for Americans than it is for most other people, which is why they have sports grants and stuff like that.

Dude, you're taking that way too seriously. It's like a Red Sox player throwing his shirt to a Yankees crowd (Did I get that right? I suck at American sports :P) The whole WWE vs. ECW thing they have going on right now is just a publicity tool.
  8. It would seem so, not a single world cup goal since the final of '98... dissapointing...
  9. I highly doubt it, you were playing the Czechs... :P Koller's injury looks serious though :(
  10. Holy unabashed thread bump batman
  11. ECW

The match outcomes were too predictable, but other than that it was an entertaining show. There was no way Rey would lose his title. They're probably going to let him hold onto it until Batista's return, then start some sort of angle between the two...

Finlay's leprechaun sidekick has a myspace, although I can't link to it :P (I guess you know what's behind that censor...) I agree about The Boogyman though. His vignettes are entertaining but he's not much to look at inside the ring. There's more to being a good wrestler than being willing to put live worms into your mouth.

*covers for the 3-count* w00t 8-) Leekspin would make for awesome entrance music...

Ok, but dibs on Animal :D *hoists lameasses12 onto his shoulders and waits for his partner* ;)

Yeah... except the one that... y'know... won a gold medal in the olympics... Or the ones that start out in high school wresting until they get picked out by talent scouts... *tags Bubsa back into the ring* :P
  16. Heh, thought Japan might be the one opponent Australia could get the full 3 points against. If they manage to pull out a draw against Croatia and Croatia gets a poor result against Japan, they could actually end up second behind Brazil :o
  17. Ehrm... what are you asking for...? :?
  18. Angola - Portugal should be interesting. The Angolans are generally seething with rage when it comes to their former colonial opressors. If I recall correctly, their last game had to be abandoned before the 90 minutes were over because the fourth Angolan player got sent off. The score was something like 5-1 to the Portugeese at that point.
  19. 0-1 victory, not a bad way to start off. It wasn't the most entertaining game they played, but by keeping their own tempo low and letting the Serbs do all of the running Van Basten really managed to get the most efficient game possible in these weather conditions.
  20. +1 Also, it will spawn a whole new wave of fanboyism composed almost entirely of pimply faced teens who think they know all about cars and (street)racing because they've seen these movies and played Need for Speed Underground.
  21. Well, in Holland the major sifting starts at the end of elementary school. While most schools have a standardized test in the final year, it's not binding, it's only used to determine at what level of high school you're most likely to succeed. The teacher also gives an advice based on the child's overall performance. (We don't have junior high, just elementary and high school). Only VWO will get you into the universities directly. That course is six years. In the final 3 years, every test you take that covers material you're required to know for your final exam will be taken into your permanet file. At the end of the final year, an average grade will be determined for each subject based on that file. That average is 50% of your final grade, the other 50% comes from a central exam that the entire country takes. If you have your VWO diploma, you can get into any university course if you've passed the courses required for that course, usually with a certain minimum grade. Outside the art courses, any course with a limited amount of seats automatically accepts anyone with an average 8.0 or higher on their final combined grades, the rest will have to go through a lottery process.
  22. I still think Ivory Coast could have at least pulled out a 2-2 if they finished their oppertunities off with a little more accuracy. Kalou especially missed two brilliant chances. They collapsed in the final 15 minutes though, mostly because their passing got sloppy.

ECW will never be what it was 10 years ago because a multi-million dollar company like the WWE will never allow stunts like mock crucifixions out of fear of lawsuits, especially since the shows will be aired on TV frequently. The only upside I can see to a WWE-backed revival of ECW is that their wrestlers won't be bought away anymore.
  24. Still 0-0, and yes, they do get around. We're one coach short of the record of five French coaches at the '98 world cup.
