There are no solar systems within that distance that could sustain life, because they are all red dwarfs. The closest system that's not the one my planet is in that could sustain life is 61 Cyg A, around 12 lightyears away, or, reasonably, 15 years away.

The only other country I am offering membership to (unless others join on their own.) is Uganda, since that would connect my african countries. We'll see how that goes.
-
While I'm not really sure why you would get that, since me an dusty were the ones who actually did anything really, I don't really care that much. As long as you don't do anything that would harm the rest of the country, it's all good.

I'm guessing they took the clip out, but a round was chambered. Still, they're idiots. It's one thing if it's like a bb gun or something, but a real gun is just stupid.

It's not a mystery, it's orbiting Alpha Centauri which is the second closest star to the Earth (Sun being the closest of course). It just happens to be one of the kind of stars that humans need. I think it's also the only star similar to the sun within 25 lightyears. Could be wrong though. There are a few stars that could possibly contain life, but it's much less unlikely. (cooler white stars and hotter orange stars could in theory provide the right amount of heat. And dusty, that sounds fine. Let's just assume that Somalia's population wasn't too psyched about their leader aggravating two of the strongest countries/empires in the world, and most of them aren't gonna fight to the death against us. And that most infrastructure, other than the capitol (which I guess I control), and military bases are intact. My plan for somalia is this: Piracy is punishable by death, and we will create enough jobs with government funded projects that people won't need to become pirates just to feed themselves. Our goal is to make it into a good area to trade with, and also a place where you don't need to worry about being attacked if you are going through there on a trading vessel/whatever. Someone said I might have arc cannons mounted on ships, I think that was just bad wording on my part. I meant that Aether/iran, who has arc cannons, would probably be willing to shoot anything out of the sky that belonged to somalia, after they attacked one of my stations. @ inactive countries post. Norway posted on this page, and recently, Venezuela pmed me recently about the thread, and New zealand just started a few days ago. Egypt could be more active, and I think whoever owns india says that even if they're not an active poster, they're still keeping india.

That's fine. Where mine is has been made public a long time ago. And I'm also in the process of designing a ship that isn't made for only combat, but can certainly fight.

Here are some rules about finding habitable planets. The only systems where habitation is possible is midway through the f classification (white stars) the g classification (yellow stars) and a bit into K (orange). This is based on temperature put out. Here is a list of near stars, and their classification. If you're not sure how that works, ask me about a system and I'll check if it's habitable in theory based upon the star. http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~dolan/conste ... arest.html Also, they were napalm missiles, he said he would launch nukes, but then he decided on napalm. He gave up on his idea of bomb loaded embassies after I informed him that there were no embassies in any of my cities, much less one in all the major cities.
-
:( I didn't start this one though! The war started over me saying that you need to have a spaceship or somehow be able to get people to mars in order to claim land. Then they launched the dread napalm missiles. Oh noes.
-
Ok, let's be reasonable. Here's what happened. He launched missiles at my city, they were all destroyed mid flight, over the ocean. A few explosives got into my cities killing 30 people, because in order to destroy a city, you need a really [bleep]ing big bomb, and sneaking a MOAB into one of the most defended cities in the world is pretty tough. His space laser attacked one of my stations, heavily damaging it, but it was almost immediately destroyed by various defenses, including several satellites designed for the sole purpose of destroying enemy satellites or craft. Also, unless Ross objects, his ARC cannon will destroy anything else Somalia has in space. All major Somalian cities (lol) have been bombed by about 50 of our HISF fighters, and all military bases were destroyed in a similar fashion. The 40 ships we have had parked outside of somalia for the majority of the game to stop piracy have landed their troops, and we are invading. Special forces we have had stationed in rural areas of his territory since tensions had been rising have kidnapped or killed as many local leaders as possible, along with military officers. Death toll on our part is about 70, including the people in the damaged station. Some damage was done to government buildings in a couple cities, but that's it. Then we have a heavily damaged station, which will be repaired soon.

The MAASs I have aren't designed for frontline combat, they're support vechiles designed for shooting down aircraft, and a .50 caliber in case it gets attacked by infantry. I could have build a big tank to be a mobile AA, but I didn't feel like it. They shouldn't ever tangle with ground troops anyways. Anyways, how exactly are you going to get a railgun around to attack it? Those things aren't exactly small... And Pirate, c'mon, get real. You don't have a spaceship, so you can't claim land. I haven't complained about it, I just started building a spaceship. We have to follow some sort of protocol here, or the entire thread will just dissolve into chaos and stupidity (which your posts are starting to do). He also managed to launch napalm missiles apparently destroying all of my major cities, ignoring my advanced missile defense shield, then used a magical space laser to kill all of my space stations. Despite the fact that they are all equipped with defenses, and would have shot down any ships going near them without permission.
-
This thread has 120 pages. I have no clue where I first wrote that. Seriously, building a ship in space that can hold 5000 people isn't exactly the most unrealistic thing in this thread. Tell me where you explained a space laser. If it had gone near any of my space stations, it would have been shot down by anti-satellite missiles. And napalm wouldn't do anything against my cities overall, even if it got there. EDIT: typo
-
Actually, I did. So stop making stuff up about what I did or did not say. If you've actually read any of my posts about how I build my stuff, you would know that. And my station is in a geosynchronous orbit over Brazil, so your laser can't hit it. Sorry.

Actually, no bombs detonated. Instead, they were discovered long beforehand, and were destroyed. It's not like you can magically put bombs in a city like that. How is building a ship destroying the laws of nature? It's not like it can go faster than light, it can't land, and it can't carry hundreds of It defies the laws of getting it out there. And yes bombs did detonate as all my Ambassadys exploded, they were filled with lots lots lots lots lots lots lots of bombs and i fired nukes at your capitols You don't have any embassies in any of those cities. And nukes don't exist in this game, and if they did, they would have been shot down. The ships were assembled in space. It took a lot to get the resources into space, but they weren't built on earth.

Because breaking out of the gravity of the planet with something that big is nearly impossible. And once again, it's several ships, not one, that can in total transport 30 thousand. It could probably land and launch from a planet if: 1: I didn't care how much fuel it wastes 2: I didn't care about the planet. The engines I use are either mass driver based, or fusion based, and thus, not very good for anything. I can also land if I don't plan on taking off, as some of my ships are designed to be the hub of a colony, but not ever launch again.
-
HOW THE [bleep] DO YOU GET THE SHIP THERE THEN? IM FED UP OF YOU NOOBS! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE AND YOU SAID YOU GOT A SHIP (ONE) WHICH CAN CARRY 30,000 PPLZ, I RESERVED THE LAND, YOU NOT! AND IF THE SHIPS ARENT DESIGNED TO LAND HOW THE [bleep] WOULD YOU GET THEM TO MARS Actually, I said I had the capabilities to transport close to 30,000 people at a time. I never said in 1 ship. Here's something incredible, if I can get people onto a ship without them landing, I can get them off in the same way. *gasp* Also, the land you claimed isn't even there anymore as far as borders are concerned, as we changed the map. Oh, and [enter] AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs [enter] Plus, keysersoze only gives you coin iirc.
-
Mkay. That's a prettier map. I'm taking the gallery of the void area for research, and testing of our new ship's armor, since it's a nice simulator. The rest is for normal civilization. Pirate, the 30,000 people are on several different ships. The ships never actually land on earth. The people are brought up over a few days in shuttles, dock at one of my stations, then board the ships. And there's a new map. Get your people there, and then you can have land. These ships are not designed to land, or take off from a planet. That takes way to much fuel and energy. They stay in orbit unless necessary. Interesting fact: Shipping something from the moon to mars is more efficient that from earth to the moon due to gravity.

Holy [bleep] ! you got that on what game mode? And on overgrown, Damn! Team Deathmatch. Almost all my deaths were from being sniped, but usually I would just flank the snipers and go crazy on them, and they wouldn't do anything to stop me. Overgrown is just really easy to flank on since there are always like 4 different routes you can take with decent cover.
-
It's awesome, and you rarely run out ammo which is always a problem with the semi-auto one. The second best player on my team has 18 kills, and I had 64 at the end of a game on overgrown. My kdr wasn't that as good as yours, it was 64-20 ish

Pirate, ships holding more than 5000 people, while not easy to build, are more than practical, as once we had the manufacturing and mining facilities already in space, it's much cheaper than building lots of little ships. I don't know where you got your information from (your imagination?). Ok, here is a new map of mars. It is broken up into much smaller areas, so this way there is a lot more space. I placed my colony over two normal sets of land, and then the gallery of the void since that area is useless. The reason I took two sections is because I'm planning on relocating millions of people there over the next decade, and I actually need the space. The original colony is sitll there, since that's three countries, and since they were the original colony, they can stay. Draw your colonies in here, with your color from the normal world map. I think this is a lot more fair. No claiming territory, there is plenty to go around, you much actually colonize it. I think the largest colony other than mine has around 50,000 people, so you don't need to take multiple sections. You can always expand later. Feel free to put your colonies wherever you want, even if it's not the original place they were in. Also remember that the southern and northern regions are arctic/antarctic, so it's cold there.
-
Look on this page or the other, and you'll see the origin of that number. And that's funny, because I can put 15 million men in Somalia, and 300 ships blockading you. Or I could just pull a russia and bombard all of your nations to hell before you have a chance to respond. And land grabs on mars are [developmentally delayed]ed. We're not talking about uninhabitable land on our own planet, we're talking about a habitable planet millions of miles away.
-
Pirate, you have maybe a few ships that can send 20 people up at a time. I can send nearly 30,000 people into space at one time, and i am doing so. I also was the one who designed the ships and really had the idea of colonizing mars. I think, no offense, I can pick whatever spot I want to colonize. Considering I outnumber the rest of people on mars about 10-1. And, since you have no one on mars, it's just a land claim, which I already have said I don't care about.
-
How far away is that planet? And no claiming territory. You have to be able to physically colonize it.
-
It's a long term project. I have three ships going back and forth right now, each trip takes about a week total including refueling, docking, etc. The ships can physically hold up to 9,000 people, but they can only support 3,000 for any period of time. The ships have been also modified for the purpose of transit rather than just the hub of a colony, so carrying that many people on a multi day voyage is a little bit easier. So, until I build more ships it should take about 7-9 years to get people there if there are no ship problems or whatever.

I always took it as Immortality=no dying of age/sickness Invulnerability: No dying by exterior physical means (ie: wounds, being disintegrated by the sun)
