  1. The alps are in many different countries. It would be a lot easier on all of us if you just took italy as a whole or switzerland.
  2. The design for a small spacecraft (think, in size comparison, a fighter vs a star destroyer) is complete. These are used for either personal transports, or can be equipped with a type of weapon that we're working on completing soon. Design for a Destat class space battleship is near completed aswell, it's really just mixing and matching preexisting technology, then putting some weapons on that. It's being assembled over mars. Some new features include: Mass driver based engine as back up, a-neutronic fusion reactor, Plasma "windows", and basic plasma shielding against weapons or asteroids. It uses the same high-density, high strength composites we created for our first ships as it's basic armor. There is also a hangar for small shuttles or "fighters". It's roughly 1.1km long, though it will be some time before it is completed.
  3. Would have appreciated you voiced your objection to the retaking of my empire earlier, Doom... [Off topic: It's my birthday. Woop]. Actually, the Japan on there is you, so people don't take it. And happy birthday.
  4. Well I can tell you the basics of the thread. All newcomers start out at present day (real life) technology levels, whereas the rest of the thread is at 2037 (I think) tech levels. It's not that hard to catch up though. Start with what you want to change. I would look at wikipedia articles for peru. Poverty might be a problem, maybe you could start some government funded projects in order to help decrease unemployment. It doesn't have to be anything big. Maybe you could fund increases in public transportation and alternative energies, or something like that. It's all up to you, I'm just throwing out ideas. All the countries in south america, other than venezuela and yourself are part of the Brazilian empire, which is controlled by me. The other two superpowers in the world are germany and russia. The US has been destroyed, though the land is being recolonized slowly by me and Iran (now known as the kingdom of aether.) Each real life day is 1 game year. Since I'm your closest neighbor in the game, I can probably help you get started
  5. Also, here is the news from our colony in another system. 5 years ago we received the first transmission since they landed, though it's been classified until then. So now it's been roughly 10 years since they landed. The planet they landed on seems to be in a state similar to earth was roughly 300 million years ago. There are a few land animals, but they are in very early developement. There are no mammals, only reptiles and amphibians so far. Some may be discovered eventually though. Flora is in a mega-sized stage, everything is extremely big. A few edible plants have been found. The atmosphere is similar to earth, but with more co2, making it a bit warmer on average. Also, fortunately, any bacteria found on this planet so far does not seem to be enough to beat our body's immune systems, especially coupled with modern medicine. The development of the planet is similar to earth's from what we can tell. Here's a basic map. We landed in the all green island in basically the center of the map (which is why we centered the map around that island). From our last transmission, the colonists cleared a 300 mile diameter circle of land in the center of that island, and walled it off using materials mined using the ship's facilities. The rest of the planet, for now, is a nature preserve. There are now 3200 colonists, as of our last transmission, though 2000 of those are very young. [hide=][/hide] An unmanned pod with several samples of the atmosphere, soil, and several forms of life in suspended animation has been sent back to earth. It should arrive within a year. (It was sent when we go the most recent transmission, so sent 5 years ago). There have been no attacks on colonists by native life so far, just for the record.
  6. Just an update on the research I started regarding fusion near the beginning of the thread. My most recent breakthrough was with my fusion based thrusters for my ships, but in the past month, after near 30 years of working, my scientists have developed a reactor capable of near aneutronic fission. This also incidentally has a lot to do with plasma, which we're doing a lot of research on now. Also, we've just put a space station into orbit around mars, that we shipped in parts from Earth. Along with supplies gathered on mars, and from the asteroid belt, we hope to put up to a dozen more assembly/production stations into mar's orbit within the next decade. During that time we will also be building our biggest ship to date, and the second full sized ship capable of interstellar travel.
  7. Well you can't just say "I want Indonesia". You'd have to fight them. And there are more people in Indonesia by far than in Russia. And imagine guerrila warfare on all of the 17508 islands that make up indonesia. I don't think conquering them is at all possible for you right now.
  8. Yeah, you can buy one. It could be ready in 2 years or so, and it would cost 300b.
  9. Antarctica isn't practical for human life. It's too cold, the terrain changes, no food other than hunting endangered species. Did I mention it's cold?
  10. I just discovered how fun shotgunning is. Won 12 ffa matches in a row (to 30 kills each), until I started getting lazy.
  11. Ttan, what country are you actually other than "land of tan" You asked for the alps, but those are in several different countries that are all owned by players. Were you switzerland? I forget. EDIT: Updated map. Sorry if you're not switzerland tan. I also remembered a bunch of countries have antartic "claims" They're kind of antiquated, but I'm officially claiming my area. Here's a map which includes claims for land. [hide=Map as of 8/21][/hide]
  12. Some things come to mind right now. On mars there are maybe 30.000 people. But, each colony takes up a space around the size of china. That doesn't really make sense. Also, Norway and Brazil work together to produce the ships. So you can buy a colony ship from us. It's 300 billion dollars for one ship if I remember right. So you might not be able to afford it, since your pre-game gdp is lower than 300 billion, but you could pay over a period of 10 years, or something like that.
  13. Remind me what projects FANG and ICE are? Unless you're waiting to reveal what they are.
  14. I feel stupid about the x-ray comment now... . Don't worry about it. In this thread your bound to get corrected by me at some point, nothing personal or anything.
  15. Or the Omni Machine Not Occupied by Men for Networking On Mars, or the OMNOMNOM
  16. X rays don't work like that. They go through soft less dense things, but are blocked by dense materials. Like how bones are white on an x ray? now imagine thick steel. Plus I doubt he'll sell them to you now.
  17. Already taken. There are still a good amount of untaken countries. If you want, you could make a list of countries you might want and we'll tell you which are taken.
  18. If by that you mean to add something or take something away, that is next to impossible. They have tamper guards that mean, if you try to open them up they'll just fry their circuitry. No, I mean I'll examine them and figure out how they work, then make my own and tamper with those. All you'd be able to see is the outside, which is just armor. Open it up and it breaks itself.
  19. And I don't see how plasma weaponry makes any sense at all for warheads. Plasma is extremely heated gas. For it to continue being plasma, it would require a constant and massive stream of energy/heat. Which means even having plasma warheads drains a ton of resources. But, despite that, Plasma has it's uses. We are beginning research for plasma based aerodynamics, along with some possible new ship designs. Also, we are working independently to develop a small type of spacecraft with equal speed to our "capital" ships, but more maneuverability. EDIT: @ Grim. You should still be able to retreat if you want. I doubt they'd be able to easily destroy your walkers, but your walkers still wouldn't be too useful in attacking them
  20. They were used in the start of germany and russia's conquest of europe. Supposedly they're pretty powerful, but by the nature of plasma, in my opinion conventional explosives are just as good.
  21. Antimatter bombs are technically nuclear fusion bombs, so they're against the rules of the thread anyway. Uh... Russia has plasma bombs. That's pretty much it.
  22. There is no antimatter anything, as antimatter costs roughly 62.5 trillion to produce one gram, which is more than the value of everything produced in the world in a year.
  23. fyi: vietnam has the largest army in the entire world. And remember the vietnam war? So much of their country is impossible to maneuver jungles. Your giant walkers would not be able to walk through that. And guerrilla warfare is probably a specialty of their 9 and a half million soldiers, in otherwords, about a third as many people as in your country are in their army, and ready to fight.
  24. My mom once babysat for some rockefeller sub-family. Apparently they tipped well.
  25. I add extra cheese usually. But I love them plain anyway.
