  1. I have to be in the game itself for it to work. I may go in now, depending if Grim is online as I type this. He isn't online, and I have to go to bed soon, so we will have to wait til tomorrow. I also need to figure out how to customize the server so that we can have unlimited plasma grenades. I'll try some cheat codes.
  2. Just played in this awesome server, but I really need to do some homework. :( I won't be in the server (Tip.it) until tomorrow because I need to get everyone online at the same time, otherwise I just sit in there and get bored. Lol.
  3. Ross, try cnet. Just google it, to be honest. Anyway, we have a game going on. Server name: Tip.it Password: nazi IP: 192.168.1.100:2 302 Enjoy. You guys better hurry up and get on, lol.
  4. I probably won't get on tonight, to be honest. I will be on tomorrow afternoon, though. Tuesday and Wednesday are Senior Skip Days because the school is legally required to give us two days in the school term in order to go to colleges and tour them.
  5. I do. I would have to re-load the disc onto my PC, though.
  6. No, that's just the max. A game can be started with only 1 player, lol. Although, you might want to be the first in there so you can get in the Banshee and shoot all of the noobs that enter the game after you did. :-w
  7. Never thought of that one. Is the demo a lot like the Halo "1" demo? Also, can you still mod it? EDIT: I think that if at least one person has the non-demo version of Halo: CE and starts the game, everyone can just join that server and be able to play in different maps and stuff.
  8. Hey, if anyone has Halo: Combat Evolved for PC, we could have some Tip.it Slayer or CTF games. Also, the Demo version might work, but we need to confirm that it will let you connect over the Internet.
  9. While on the Hitler topic, a young Jew who fled to Paris murdered a German diplomat in the German Embassy. This sparked the Kristallnacht because it gave the Nazis a chance to appeal to the people and "prove" that the Jews were really evil people. ;)
  10. Yes, yes... "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness". They are great words, but, again, there is a limit to what we can do. We simply can't allow immigrants to flood into the country without causing severe long-term problems for the general well-being of ALL people. Like you said, we must think about the long-term when dealing with immigration... Whoever can do the job better should get it, yes. Again, we must still try to give the American citizen priority over the immigrant (who does not have citizenship). We must try to take care of our own before taking care of the World. As for America being the melting-pot. Yes, it is a so-called "melting pot", but it never started off that way. The introduction of foreign cultures can be harmful due to it clashing with the 'native' culture. It may seem horrible and unfortunate, but that's how the world works. The clash of cultures can only contribute to a growing crime rate, after all. Likewise, the next generation does conform well, but they still hold onto a lot of their culture (which gradually vanishes over the subsequent generations). The fragment of foreign culture that the child holds onto is still enough to cause social tension and disunity. I'm not saying that it's right, but that's just how the world works.
  11. I don't believe that it's so much the fact that they're half-Native, but the fact that a lot of illegals don't transition well and a lot of them can barely speak English. I don't suspect anyone of being a candidate for illegal immigration unless they hardly speak English, then I start to become suspicious. Hmm. I didn't realize that. In my opinion, if a person is willing to contribute to society, they should be a candidate for Citizenship. If they are not willing to do so, they should be kicked out immediately. Likewise, they should be willing to give up part of their identity in order to conform to our culture, respect our values, and learn our language if they want to move here. If they aren't willing to do that, they are dangerous to our society. However, you must also realize that there is a limit to our resources; American-born individuals should always gain priority over an immigrant. We must also try to prevent overpopulation. It's for the greater good, after all. We can't save the world.
  12. So, how long will it take before we know what the "grand reward" is? Also, is it true that you can build the statue in your POH? I heard from a friend that you get a plinth to put in your study.
  13. Ape Atoll doesn't give them, IIRC. I didn't think they did... mainly wanted to dispel the rumors referenced above. Jagex explicitly stated that only certain courses gave the stone. The Ape Atoll course was not included in this list. The list can be found by going to the update news post for Shattered Hearts and viewing the Knowledge Base page for Shattered Hearts.
  14. We have a 1.5 million-strong standing army, and we have about another 1.5 million in reserves. Just saying. I think that we're all being hypothetical. It's a type of what if? scenario... "What if the government becomes bad? What do we do about it?"
  15. Topic 1: I would have to agree. We are holding people back because we are trying too hard in order to get people to pass; we are lowering the standard in order to accomplish this end. This is the wrong way to approach education! Some people just simply don't want to learn, so don't force it down their throats; it's their own stupid decision. Also, if people aren't capable of doing a task, don't try to sloppily teach them how to do the task at a sub-par level and throw them out into the real world. Give them something that they can actually do, even if that means shipping them off to a trade school. Topic 2: I don't have much of an opinion on the subject other than the fact that it's despicable that many people are living fairly comfortable lives while on welfare; it's obvious exploitation. I do have a potential solution to some of the problems with the welfare state. Instead of just giving people money if they are unemployed, why not adopt a below minimum wage system? For example, a person goes to an unemployment office and states that they need help. The people who work at the unemployment office assign the person to some temporary industrial job in order to manufacture license plates or military equipment. The person earns a few dollars an hour, but they both contribute to society, and they earn money. It's a win-win situation. It also reduces the unemployment rate, thus it is highly beneficial to society. Likewise, it keeps the person in shape; I have known some people who were laid off/fired, and they became very unhealthy because they didn't bother to do anything after losing their job. Working in a factory will do wonders, compared to just being a couch potato. Here's another good thing about the unemployment idea: it encourages people to continue to look for a real job, one that pays at least minimum wage. The person would be able to be hired instantly, and they can resign at any time. Nothing binds them to the job except necessity. Topic 3: Welcome to politics.
  16. I would have to agree with Vulxai. The government hasn't proved to be bad enough for a revolt yet. There are a few scenarios that could possibly start a civil war, though (in my eyes): -Secession of a bloc of nations -Collapse of the Dollar (tying in with the first bullet) -Increasing governmental incompetence that causes extreme domestic problems. The government might try to declare war on too many fronts, causing the military to start losing the war, thus causing a military coup due to the disillusionment of the soldiers.
  17. I thought there was a 12.5 earthquake. >.< I guess it doesn't matter a whole lot, though. Anyway, what's going on in Colombia?
  18. I still think that the Patriot Act is a dangerous precedent. Also, if the government gains too much power, a revolutionary movement wouldn't do anything unless you have a lot of backing. Backing is less likely because a large portion of potential revolutionaries are morons and can't think for themselves. A revolution doesn't do too much if it just ends up with you getting a lethal injection in the end. It just smacks of the Alien and Sedition Act, in my opinion. Even if it is argued that the Patriot Act is for the greater good of the nation, it could still very easily become repressive due to politicians asking the public to give up more individual liberties for the "welfare" of the nation.
  19. They technically don't even need to prove you're a terrorist. Under this kind of authority, the executive branch can pull you out of bed in the middle of the night and detain you while indefinitely suspending your usual rights. The idea that "well, as long as you're doing the right thing then you have nothing to hide" is a naive way of looking at it. This gives the executive branch the authority to circumvent the checks and balances built into your government for the sake of cutting through bureaucratic red tape. It grants one office of power the potential to abuse their authority. I'm disappointed in Obama, and I'm a left-wing Democrat. Not to cause an argument but how you said it gives one office too much power, and another guy said the government could just lock up its enemies. That's why I invoke my second amendment. I love the idea of America and what it was founded for, so if corrupt politicians start to rip it down, and all of it's principles, I'd slaughter all of Washington to save it. That's treason! ;) Seriously though, you might like the quotation in my signature. :)
  20. It could turn into another McCarthy incident. Goddamn that guy was a jackass.
  21. Forgot about Demo! Yeah, we can have a Tip.it-only Halo match sometime. We would have to organize it, though. Now that I think about it, my school has the Demo on every computer in a certain computer lab. We were playing Halo in there yesterday. :P If anyone is good at modding the game, let's have a match on Blood Gulch where there are Scorpion tanks and Banshees.
  22. If anyone else has Halo: Combat Evolved for their PC, we can have a Tip.it-only Slayer match. I just need to figure out how to get GameSpy to work in order to access a Halo match over the internet. Would be pretty fun.
  23. Sad. I wanted to perfect my magic combo skills, too! :(
