How has racism effected you?
I'm appalled if you cannot grasp the ridiculousness of your statement. Likewise, you are trying to argue that I am a racist. You have not read and understood anything that I have said. Are you just too simple-minded and unable to comprehend simple concepts, or are you just going out of your way to piss people off?

New US Heathcare Reform Legislation Passed by Legislature
Ehhh I am not so sure on this one, I do not remember that the founding fathers rebelled because of big government, I thought it was the whole "no taxation without representation" thing. I doubt all of them want small government to be honest, I know TJ is the guy for "the best government is the government which govern the least", but then we also have Alexander Hamilton who favor government control. They rebelled because the American Colonies were used to governing themselves, but Parliament insisted on interfering by placing taxes that the Colonial governments did not ratify. Because the colonies weren't granted Home Rule, they rebelled in order to form their own Empire. I'm only stating what you find in history books. There were very likely other reasons why they wanted to secede from England. (The Proclamation of 1763 barred the colonists from expanding West, and there were very likely people that wanted to profit off of expanding into Native territory.)

I wouldn't say so. Hooks have been decreasing in value recently, as have wergali(unf) and pawya meat. As far as I know, onyxes haven't declined yet. Not long ago, it would cost 30k to buy a single wergali(unf) pot. Now, it costs about 10k. The hooks are only worth half of what they used to be worth not long ago... So it would not be worth it to trade an onyx for Wergali unf to train herblore with? It's your call. You could probably get 99 Herblore if you were able to trade your onyx for pure cash, but that would require junk in order to balance the transaction. If you trade for wergali, it's like you're ripping yourself off. The item's worth 80M, but you're only getting like 10M worth of experience (which is an exaggeration, but still...).

New US Heathcare Reform Legislation Passed by Legislature
Maybe, I've not really looked into what our law says, however I think they found a loophole. Also, 7 other states also made it illegal. Source? By which I mean a credible source. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution The underlined part is what I was referring to. Also wikipedia is not a credible source. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/29/us/29states.html That's what I found. They at least ATTEMPTED to ban it.

Street value. Basically, you can either sell it with junk in order to balance a 70M transaction, or you could sell it for another commodity that has a high street value. You could possibly get two crowns (if you're lucky) or two hooks for it. Then again, crowns are going to crash before too long, and hooks have been decreasing in value for the last few weeks (they used to be 80M...now they're 35M). Just save it and maybe use it to buy something if a super-mega-awesome item comes out, so you can be the first to own it because people will accept your onyx as a form of currency. We also have different currencies now. For some really hard-to-get items, few people accept GP. Instead, they accept a currency that has a higher value, which, in your case, would be the Onyx Gem. It used to be the Mintcake. It's like buying something with a British Pound Sterling, a US Dollar, or a Mexican Peso. Which would you prefer? The British Pound has the highest value of all of them (worth two US Dollars). The US Dollar is pretty strong and would usually be acceptable, but inflation devalued it. However, the Mexican Peso will very rarely be accepted because it is EXTREMELY devalued. For example, the Onyx Gem would be the British Pound Sterling. The Pirate's Hook would be the US Dollar, and the Gold Piece (GP) would be the Mexican Peso.

How has racism effected you?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking, hehe. He should have been kicked out or scolded (the former being the worst that could happen and the latter being what at least should have happened) for misusing their intercom system, but I think that it's a tiiiiny biiit of an overreaction to arrest the kid. It reminds me of the South Park episode where the FBI stormed Kyle's(?) house when he was downloading music over the Internet. He could have been goofing around, pissed off, or a variety of other things. When kids do Nazi salutes and start marching around like they're German soldiers, it usually means they're just goofing around, not actual Nazis. A friend could have even dared him to say that over the intercom.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35959810/ns/us_news/?GT1=43001 Seriously? Are we that damned sensitive? Sure, what he did was mean and uncalled for, but he's a kid, and kids do these sorts of things. Was it really severe enough for him to get arrested and get a criminal record? They're not even telling the full side of the story. Maybe some blacks were mistreating him in some way or another and he reacted to it. Who knows? Also, we already know what race this child is. We can tell by the way the police and everyone else freaked out.

New US Heathcare Reform Legislation Passed by Legislature
Are they going to even provide a privatized sector for the huge number of Americans that could actually afford healthcare under the old system? Seriously, I'm not trying to sound like a heartless douchebag, but I would rather be able to go to the doctor quicker on some things (assuming that I would have to wait a few months to get my finger checked out because it has a cyst growing in it), and I'm middle class, so I can actually afford it... EDIT: Wait a second. Wasn't universal healthcare thrown out of the window a long time ago? How come everyone keeps referring to this as "America's NHS" or whatever? <_<

New US Heathcare Reform Legislation Passed by Legislature
I personally take a neutral stance with this bill. There are good arguments from both sides as to why we should (or should not have) universal healthcare/healthcare "reform". However, I AM worried that the President passed this bill as some sort of lasting legacy before he completely fell out of favor with the voters. Because the United States is experiencing rapid population growth and already has (quite possibly) almost 400 million inhabitants, I'm afraid that this system might end up being terribly inefficient and might not bring about much benefit at all in the long run. I think that the biggest issues that America is facing consists of cultural problems, immigration, and the Deficit. It seems like we're just hanging the noose around our neck with the aforementioned problems.

Clubbing
I don't think I can even go in one yet (that's if I wanted to), and I'm 18... There are lameass laws where you have to be 21 to even enter a bar... There's a nice Irish pub in a nice cultural area not too far away that I think might be a nice place to eat, but I will almost certainly have to be 21 to enter the goddamned place thanks to idiots like Carrie Nation and some other [kitties] that we had during the 19th century prohibitionist movement... EDIT: I actually am not sure if all pubs have the 21+ rule. I just remember going to one and then being kicked out because I wasn't 21.

Not all of them. ;) Anyway, that gives a good idea for describing social life in the Texan Republic: Rampant corrupt corporatism and over-consumption. Add this, along with constant anti-Communist propaganda, race laws, and prison brutality, and you have the components for a good story. So it's essentially just a story about Texas in the 60s? It's a satirical version, yes. I'm just taking it to new heights.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
In other words, it ain't worth the time. You might as well forget about the blue hat unless you either find a really nice person or get it off of the GE. I wouldn't mess with it, though. Hell, don't even log onto world 2. The green looks a hell of a lot better anyway.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I know no one will even acknowledge this post, but I think that royal items will possibly crash soon. The kingly implings are now able to be purchased over the Grand Exchange (although it takes a few hours between each impling).- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
I would also like to request a 3-day extension for this thread to remain open in order to bounce around a few ideas about the new Hegemony-inspired stories.- The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)

I actually had an idea that we could play an RPG based around Starship Troopers where the world is unified under the Terran Federation, and we are fighting aliens (giant intelligent bugs) in order to prevent them from planting their eggs and wiping us out. *shrugs* Oh, I think that there are two ideas concerning a Hegemony-based series of stories: -Terran Federation (Germanic, first incarnation) -Republic of Texas (Fall of American Hegemony and Rise of Totalitarian Government, second incarnation) I think both would be good stories, and the Texas Series would have a great satirical theme. (Refer to my last report concerning the use of inmates in war games that are being televised on national television, as well as the race laws that the new Texan regime has enacted.)- Fury Advice
Well, for starters, I would probably purchase a bear costume... I heard that's really popular at conventions these days. Oh... You meant FURY advice not FURRY! Sorry. (I jest.) Yeah, they were merchanted and are now at a ridiculous price. They should be stable.- What did you dream about last night?
I dreamed that we were living in these subterranean housing complexes (built like bunkers), and the large doors that led outside were open. We were woken up by the sounds coming from the military base. They announced a "nuclear warfare exercise" and said that they were practicing with a "simulated Magnitude-31 nuke". I looked outside, and there were soldiers scattered across a large battlefield (literally our backyard) that was covered in mud (like the fields from World War I). The soldiers were fanning out and slowly retreating back from the area of the "blast" site and were pretending that they could see the blast and were calling out different platoons to fall back. I remember staring at them with a sort of grin going across my face and a hand resting on my hip while thinking "I'm proud of our armed forces. Those boys will fight, and they'll win!" Before they sounded the alarms around our region (which were the wavering, nuclear kind), the General said "When I sound the alarm, this will be declared a Running Zone. I expect you all to run like hell while keeping on task. You hear?" Then the soldiers shouted "Sir, yes, sir!" Perhaps this was a futuristic dream? It was pretty interesting. - The Hegemony (12th Feb = 2018, Part 2)
