Actually, that is a method, and the gnomes do attack the demon, but it takes a LONG time. They hit only 1's. I would suggest bringing 1 prayer pot[4] or at least 4 doses total. Bring about 100 adamant or rune arrows. Bring a magic shortbow. Turn on protect magic. Put on sigli. Run to where your out of reach of the demons melee attacks(just more than 3 squares away from him to b safe, he wont run towards you because he hast that magic attack). Range him! Make sure your prayer does not go below 20.
