This I agree with, in it's logic & sense.

I did/done 100's of barrows runs, and still will and do. The main thing as in RS is to have fun, of course there will be many various suggestions, tried and tested tips, but of course nothing to stop you finding out what suits you and your personal style. The way I do it, is costly, however I personally offset xp/gp/fun... It's a game after all. I use the shop in Canifis, bring noted p pots, sharks, and pretty much mage everything in sight when im down there. Ahrim is of course an exception to the rule, dds him, "Stab" works slightly better, if lucky get him poisoned. When you get a drop from the chest its happy days.. It was for me on my old acc my main source for the rest of the game, I was on ancients back then, and trips to W2 to sell my newly gotten drop, stock up on runes, buy herbs...all a happy but distant memory now ! Word of warning. : I still see gravestones down there even today, taking risks with no pray is dodgy, obviously depends on armor, combat lev etc. I personally was and always will be a "Prayer Noob" in there, I have seen what Dharok can do on 5% hp hehee... So enjoy.. and good luck !

Higher randomization of the "Random Events" requiring typing of answers and clicking of icons in event. Captcha could also be hybrid, including symbols instead of normally typed numbers and letters, this extra input would always require human intervention. Removal of all post deposit boxes may help. Requirement for all bank acc's to have a pin. If random event was not completed properly, bank would be reset, needing pin entry again. I suppose the more you think about it the more you realise that it is not an easy task to eradicate the current crop of bot's. Manual intervention is perhaps the only weapon that would create a headache for said creators & users of bots. The more measures that Jagex implement the more it would slow down the real players. Then the upset would kick in, and the all too common flame posts and dummy throwing would ensue. So it may be regarded as a "Catch 22" situation, as we well know the bots cater for a market of raws, when certain items are needed fast from GE, whos to know who or what gathered, made them... Once again its a constant problem for many years as I see it, one that will not go away over night, but one that could be tempered much more, but at what cost to Jagex's revenue, and to our total gameplay experience. ?

To change robes back to normal after colouring them, use them on your rune guardian in your inv. Useful for colour changes, and of course trading them on.

I discovered many many years ago on CS when I used to frequent a Internet Gaming Cafe, just how important lag is... Just how much IM LAGGINGGGG was shouted out. The guy who owned the place took covers off comps, ran aux fans on them, set up dedicated connection for the "CS Crew" and another one for the rest... come forth into today... Well, many yrs ago in the steel dragons, when I ... Lagged, lost a lot that day, no gravestones back then... just a couple of guys who were there also, who found my death and their new found wealth highly amusing... Back into the here and now, yes, I suffer badly from lag, I cant pk cos of it, nor stake, which in a way is probably a good thing. Hopefully soon I will be moving, and will purchase a proper OFL of a top ISP here in the Uk. Will that help my RS experience... a tad I suppose, will give me more chance's to make a bit more out in wildy, and the confidence when I get higher leved to have it large with those Top Mobs out there... So yeah while Lag is seriously annoying, sadly it is part of the Internet Experience...

15-Mar-2011 - Ring of Wealth, Shanties, Trolls and Dungeoneering

Did a lot of barrows runs pre "update" and afterwards, seems I get a lot less death runes now, and of course the un-needed "restore pot, Super def pot" ok, may get the odd p pot or what not but have to lol @ the gravestones I saw round the tunnels... Congrat's to those who got those massive drops earlier, how I would have loved to be high enough leved to have had a touch like that, they must be so made-up!!. And to those who "RageQuit" as they were left out, then they need to develop some social skills, practice "Acceptance & Understanding"... Jagex can't please all the players all the time, today in many ways is that showing again, I for one am happy that they keep adding, updating, and at least making some effort with the constant evolution of the game. So I wont be "Quitting" far from it and am enjoying being back since my long long break. -
From Kitten to Cat approx 2hrs, from Cat to overgrown Cat another 2hrs, so 4hrs all in all... Do the rat-Catchers quest to make overgrown cat into Wily cat !!

Ten Years Accompanying Article by Logdotzip Edited by Racheya Wow what a journey you had... for one so young you are able to convey so well your memories and parallels between RS & Life. Felt for you when you mentioned both the passing of your father, and the betrayal of your trust by that low-life. Gaming has been part of my life as well since I was young, now I am old... *Laughs* I still play. It was heartening to read as I have found that the game has taken a lot of flak recently, and it is too easy to be caught up in the negatives, when really at the base of it all... Its a game, a form of enjoyment, somewhere to escape & unwind, to be as you want it to be. So thank you for taking the time to write and share with me, I wish you all the best in RS & Life. Regards. G.

Elaborate scams and how to exploit them
gordoarcane replied to yuriqiu's topic in General Discussion
Long ago when i was a noob in full black i fell foul of the "Trim Armour" scam, lost my plate, i was extremely upset, gave that guy grief whenever he showed online for months... I suppose that made me weary. Then one day in fale many months later a guy says would i buy a whip quick sale half price, im interested of course... So he says his friend is selling it, follow him and we can do the deal. I have tele runes, 1m cash, normal clothes on no armour... We go in fale park, he says take this candle and tinderbox, then trade me it when we go down... Ok... by now im curious, but happy to play along, and see if there is such a cheap whip for sale... We go down into the giant moles tunnels, he trades me, asking for candle&tinder box.... so i trade him it Then he trades me with a whip, closes window, does it again... keeps doing it, but i notice i am being attacked, its dark, and slowly im losing health... "Trade me he says... quick"...I give up when i get to 50% health...tele back to fale, run down to the entrance to mole, and he shows, so i trade him... "Sell it to me now" Say's i... he teles away. -
Massive decrease in world population since update..

I run the downloaded app from Jagex, never play in browser after it compromised me in the past. Never had any problems with it at all. -
Massive decrease in world population since update..
gordoarcane posted a topic in General Discussion
amazed i am to be on a world that is empty in seers. But i noticed since update so many p2p world have a handful of people in them... surely this cannot be down to dare I say... "bots being disconnected"?? Or have Jagex just got rid of a load of them ?? More will be revealed in 12-24hrs i suppose, back to 1k+ in each p2p world again... Hope not tho !! Kinda like the silence and freedom... -
You need a Hammer to mend the railings, your guide does not mention this, teleport runes, or tablets and if possible a charged amulet of glory to get you to edgeville, or telerunes/tablet for varrock, and speed up process of completing the quest. If you go to start quest without hammer, go to the building just east of the cannon, in there you will find a hammer. Looking closely at railings you may see a slight bend/kink in some, those are the ones that need to be replaced. The entrance to the dungeon is n/e of the fishing guild entrance. Otherwise rest of guide is good. Hope this helps/speeds up completion of guide for fellow scapers. Regards. G.

You have been playing many years, don't forget where you came from, why you started to play in the first place. Take time to remember your journey, the lows & highs. Have a think what your next goal may be in the game, being in "God-Mode" with gp as you are you can change a lot of lifes for the better, or you can buy some 99 skills. I am only back a few weeks after being away 4years or so, but something i do, weekly...just to stay in touch, go back to f2p, help out a few newcomers, give some armour, weapons...hides.. you know, help them on their way a little with a small boost/gift to make their day better. I do not forget the kindness shown to me by certain random players when i started, i made sure i paid them back however i could when i made gp before. Enjoy what you have achieved, many would love to have what you have to do what they want in that respect, but all i can do is suggest how to get back to grass roots for you, so you make the most of a game you enjoy & are very successful at.

21-Feb-2011 - Attack of the WildyWyrms!
gordoarcane replied to Michael's topic in General Discussion
I *think* it's +250 crush and +250 range defence to get the warriors and rangers off of you. And I *think* +100 mage defence to get the blood reavers off of you. Are you a 2nd cousin ?? I know the arcane family is quite large haha -
Without bots; RS would be a game where people could also do some of the gathering skills themselves for relativly good money (especially when you consider the risk involved =none)... In other words; ALL of the skills would be used and enjoyed once again, and this diversity is what I believe is what makes RS so unique... And that in a sense would bring us nie on full circle back to how rs1 was when it came out, a world without bots (To begin with). Players would have to work a lot harder at certain skills to sustain their spending habits, but on the flip side... would they want to ? And surely Jagex know what is going on 100%, being "God" as they are, they can alter the fruits of the eco-system, work on % of what is consumed, and allow a set amount into the economy in order to create the balance so that it doe's not all go totally pear-shaped. An interesting debate, but sadly one that has been going on for years now with this game, does Jagex ever unleash the Chemo that is needed for the Cancer of the Bot's? Or does the game sit waiting on a healthcare list, slowly dieing due to the very fundamentals of its creation being poisoned. ?

The bot problem has been in RS for many years now, and it seems to be as rife as it ever was upon my return. There is a supply/demand culture as per the ethics of the make-up of the game, and bot's account for much of the ess, wood, fish etc as we know. If they were all to be removed overnight prices would rocket once the massive stores were used up by skillers etc, but in this fast-food world we live in, people want what they what when they want it. Is it really a question of revenue for Jagex in respect of not dealing with what we see daily in RS, could we dare suggest colusion in that respect... I doubt it personally, maybe they see bots as the "Slave Labour" trade that is needed to sustain the economy of RS, but there again the silence and lack of serious measures towards those using bots seems to suggest that maybe they have other matters on their minds. There are ways they can make things very hard for them, it would slow down some of our basic functions such as banking etc, but the fact that they have not at least tried to implement and combat the problem is concerning. Obviously we have the randoms, not as many, and no "Life/Bot threatening" ones anymore. I suppose at the end of the day one has to accept the goings on in the game and hope that measures will be taken in time to show that Jagex care about wiping it out, but that once again leads to supply-demand... and I wonder what RS would be like if there was No bots... who knows, cos i doubt that we will ever reach that stage.

Why do you think Jagex made 99s Require so Much EXP?
gordoarcane replied to Freakyhair's topic in General Discussion
Many moons ago i had the chance to grind daily with someone who was en-route to 200m in fletch, the hours that they put in daily/nightly was crazy, but it gave me incentive to get my 99, thinking if this guy can do 200m...then surely i can do the 13m. For him he said it was something to do as he had maxed out everything else, his desire was to be at the top of the leaderboard, his personal goal, his way of playing the game. There are many different ways to play RS as we know, and for some it becomes an obsession to the very max. That in a sense is what the end game offers here, and I do not think personally lowering exp caps would benefit the game that has already had measures made for faster xp in many skills. -
The new-old (updates, rewinds) is the reason i have come back to RS. I left 3-4 yrs ago due to various reasons, but one of the main ones was how Sterile GE made the trading. Having to type, having to log in and out of world, having to deal with the lag in w2, all part of the game i had become a part of back then. Now Jagex cannot please all the people all the time, but in amidst the "Scammers" (Who have always been there), Bots, etc etc there is and will be some good things to come out of it I personally... Personally thinks... I am optimistic about it all, to have a balance of w2 trading in the park again and if you wish use the GE. Then wildy being reinstated adds to the danger aspect of the game, personally reasons for me to come back. Time will tell i suppose, I am having to start all over again, but enjoying it... and thats what gaming is all about, enjoying, keep it simple yanooo... Yeah i rage quit in the past, but came back when chilled, got on with it again. Am glad to be back, glad that there are places like here on the net that offer so much for free to the players of the game. Now to hope some of my old friends still play, or may come back too for the lulz !!

Not allowed to put rs vids on Youtube?
gordoarcane replied to shadowbot's topic in General Discussion
Also sadly youtube was being exploited by sad sickos on private servers, imitating Mods, offering riches, and getting or attempting to get players to go to their sites, then extracting their usre/pass off them, one vid i saw on there said you could go on a Mod training course, 1 week trial etc, i realised this was a scam, and alerted jagex, it took them a while to get rid of it, then it popped up the next day, seems there will always be someone out there trying to scam accounts and our hard earned items. -
Should we report people who use Autotypers?
gordoarcane replied to Redman4933's topic in General Discussion
Im a fast typer, so in order to prevent others from reporting me i do the following when im buying or selling, something that an autotyper cannot do unless its manually changed, then for them whats the point lol. Simply type: cyan: or red: or white: and i change the colour each sentance, or i change the text slightly. I will never be able to compete with the autotypers, and i will never drop to their level, you reap what you sow in this life. -
Should we report people who use Autotypers?
gordoarcane replied to Redman4933's topic in General Discussion
Go in any of the big selling worlds and your screen will become covered in the repeated messages of the autotypers, report them, do what you can to, as they are breaking rules, and too lazy to type. Heres a nice story for you as well, someone who used to be a friend, i deleated them, told me a couple of months ago that they downloaded one of those autotyper programs, i was like...not impressed and told them so, there was a silence, then they said they had been hacked, all their gp gone, barrows items etc etc, after running anti-virus etc he found a trojan-keylogger that was installed in the said downloaded autotyper. If you have got this far....then im sure you can suss what the moral of the story is...Cheats never prosper. -
What Item Did you Treasure as a Newbie? - 12k+ Views!
gordoarcane replied to equal_ibrium's topic in General Discussion
On my first day i had a fight with a cow...and sadly for me there was only one outcome... while wandering aimlessly about lumby i was befriended, and the person showed me how to kill lev 1 rats...slowly but surely i progressed onto lev 3 rats...then the goblins...and then i had my first real drop, my bronze dagger...no more fists or feet. Over a year later and i have progressed much, yet dont forget those who helped me at the start, i visit them on the free worlds and help them out however i can, the dagger got sold, but for me was an amazing weapon. Tis nice to remember...and nice to be nice. -
About 2 months ago i was in fale west bank, checking items, listening to the bank deals, i was saving for a whip so imagine my delight when a guy privates me and says i need you to help me transport a whip to my main, and i will let you have one for 1mil....i thought for a bit, got 1mil out of bank and telerunes, said to him im not going to do this anywhere near wildy...he was yes..."Trust me" etc etc. I knew in the back of my mind that this was defo a scam, yet was curious as to his techniques, he said take this candle and spade and tinder box...puzzled i did, then he said follow...so i did....into faledor park we went...then he traded me...showing me the 2 whips..."Show me the million" he said...so i did, he then said we would be *Very Good Friends* after this... He lead me to a pile of dirt...infact a molehill...and said dig, i did so, and for the first time found myself in the giant moles caves, he appeared, saying light the candle, i did so....then it was follow me, so i did...into a cave we went, where there was someone who seemed to know exactly what was going on... Now he got a bit aggressive, he said trade me the candle, why i asked...he said just DO IT ! I was why cant we just trade the whips and gp, he said we will when i give him back the candle...i discovered i had to put it out...and did so to trade it, then it was very dark...he started to trade me then cancelling it...shouting "Trade me now" all of a sudden some bugs appeared, obviously becouse it was dark, and they started to eat hp off me... It was then i realised the scam for what it was, and teled out.... standing in the safety of faledor i pm'ed him, saying what a very ingenious scam that was...he said he had pulled it off a few times, that i was lucky...and ahem..."Sharp" lol. It amazes me the lengths some people will go to on this game to pull off such things, has anyone else experenced a scam as well thought out as this ??!!! However im older and wiser now...hehe and wont ever belive those too good to be true deals !
