Tip.it Times 20 December 2009
I don't usually comment on the Tip.It Times, but I feel I must this week simply because I loved all the puns in the food article. The content of the food article was also interesting. It is quite amazing that most of the most popular foods rely on fishing and the idea for a 30-HP food requiring 99 cooking and ingredients from several skills is very interesting. It'll be interesting to see if anything becomes of the idea. While I'm here I might as well also say that the pmod article was interesting. I don't get on much anymore, so I haven't seen many pmods since they started making the changes mentioned in the article, but I do find this new approach interesting and definitely see the potential for the problems mentioned by rsw44. Again, it'll be interesting to see what, if anything, happens in regards to this subject.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
The thing with inflation in RS is that, really, the only things that aren't likely to rise in price are things that are mostly bought for alching. With that in mind, it's safe to say that inflation doesn't hurt THAT much. However, with the inflation rates we've seen recently, I could see a problem in that anyone saving up to buy something or someone who had most/all of their worth in cash just lost a lot of their buying power. Therefore, I think it's safe to conclude that rapid inflation is bad, but gradual inflation is okay. The ideal world would have completely stable prices, but nothing's perfect, so I'll settle for slight inflation (or deflation where, to me, the same principles apply except that it's better to have cash during deflation). That said, the next issue is bringing this current inflation down to a manageable level. The two ideas presented so far (taxes and overtly removing money from uneven trades), in my opinion, might help bring down inflation, but their popularity would probably rival the RWT updates. Plus, those ideas only attack the symptoms of the problem. The real problem is that cash is flowing in from PVP worlds. To solve this, I think, we need either a money-sink skill/minigame/whatever that people will willingly and happily spend their money on or a PVP drop system that prevents RWT and gives appropriate rewards without creating more cash. I don't know what to add or how to redo the PVP drop tables, but ideas along those lines seem soundest to me.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
Sounds absolutely stupid, opening a game after 4 years to everyone and letting items being tranferred from it. Dude, chill. I don't think he was seriously suggesting that -- just a joke. Yeah. I had an RSC account, but was unable to keep it active. Logged into RSC last night and didn't even have my old stats. Heck, they even started me out on Tutorial Island. GF Acenator RSC. :wall:

RSC Trial-Period Over
I would consider playing it for fun, but it erased my RSC stats when they stopped allowing new RSC accounts to be made (I wasn't even a member at the time and didn't expect it anyways). I was only like level 36 combat, with maybe a 400 skill total, but on RSC even that can take some time to work up to. But I did log in just in case. :ugeek:

Runescapes Rarest 99's (as of November 1, 12:01 am)
I was somewhat surprised by slayer at first, but then thought about it and it makes sense. Slayer's a good money maker and makes training combat skills funner. I was somewhat surprised thieving wasn't more popular, but it is pretty boring to train. I also have a hard time believing so many people have 99 firemaking considering how boring of a skill it is and the fact that it kills wrists (it does mine, anyways... Maybe I should have that checked by a doctor... :-k). Other than those, there isn't anything on there than can't be explained with a logical examination of the average 'scaper's attitude and whatnot.

What the hell has been going on?
Other than the Suiku_fv's advice, you might try checking out the "3rd age/spirit shields/phats discussion" thread if you want more information on the economy. Just remember, if you come back, this is only a game. Have fun and don't worry about anything RS related.

Herb prices and Miscellania
It doesn't matter what you have it set on as it's gathering; just what it's set on when you collect, so there's no reason to worry about being "safe" with it until you go to collect. Just thought I'd let you know.

Within the Light - 13 October 2009
Yes!! Finally a new Elf quest that actually contributes to the story line!! Too bad I keep getting disconnected every time I try to talk to the dwarf? I wonder if there's a bug that forces you to do stuff in a certain order... Oh, well, I don't have enough time to do any more right now, anyways.

Removal of new high level potions in PvP
Yeah...It's called a speed boost. I use super pots almost always, when I stockpile extreme pots I'll prolly use them for slayer etc as well. Now if you're saying at god wars guess you have a point, space tends to be at a premium but might end up taking extreme attack instead of combat pots now. I could see the extreme pots making a difference at corp more so then most other bosses. It's mostly only good at Bandos when crashing, like what I meant with most bosses you need more hp boosting potions/items. You forget that, in being able to kill the boss faster with these potions, you, theoretically, save food each kill. It might take a while to figure out if that will actually play out in reality, but if they're as good as I'm hearing, these potions could very well do the trick.

3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
You must also remember that phats and the other rares were once worth about or even more than what they're worth today. I remember when blue phats were hanging out at ~500 mill (I think it was 500m, anyways; it's been too long). This might just be them going to where inflation would have put them had everyone not started selling them off several years ago (their decline started, I believe, with construction). I enjoy watching phat prices rise.... It brings back memories....

What would YOU change your name to?
I my username too much to change it. I use it for pretty much every web account I get to choose my own username for (I've found that, as I get older, less and less sites that I need accounts for let me choose my own username :wall: ).

Think about it...
I think Castle Wars and (leading) clan wars (either the mini-game or just two clans fight somewhere in a pvp/bh world) take the top of the list in skill-requiring activities in RS. Merching, pking, and quests with (extensive) puzzles come next (well, for those who don't use quest guides, anyways). Planning out your training and fighting boss monsters come next and then just training whatever way you feel like comes last. Let me know if I missed anything (or, should I say, what I missed).

Alching or autoing
Millions of peaches? peaches for me? Millions of peaches.....PEACHES FOR FREE!!!!!!!!! i just hope George of the Jungle doesn't show up...... Here you go. You earned it: [imghttp] Sorry for the off-topicness, but I had to give him the cookie.

Alching or autoing
I agree with bazzaminxer, your mistake was answering. You should have just started chasing him around with a rubber chicken. Your productiveness drops to 0 for a minute or two, but it's funny and it usually does the trick. ;) Either that or you could move into the country and eat a lot of peaches (a cookie to whoever gets that reference without using google).

Stealing Creation - Do you earn your own clay?
Maybe I'm just crazy, but I gave up going for points in SC a loooooong time ago. Now, all I do is work my way up to C5 whatever (I can collect it all and make anything except c5 potions and runes), make a c5 dagger and maybe 20 barriers, "claim" as many resource/kiln spots as I have barriers for (preferably ones the enemy is using) and then 1-item for the rest of the game (I also have 99 mage and ancients for when I manage to get some runes  ). It's much much much funner this way and I still get 15-20 points per game (I think I have about 35 sc tools in the bank and almost 1800 points). People get really mad at me from time to time (well, almost every time, really  ), but, well, that's their problem.  If someone asks for c5 clay/whatever, I give it to them because, put simply, I really don't give a crap about points, but, again, I might just be crazy (it's either that or I'm playing the game for fun because I'm planning on retiring once MechScape finally comes out).

Postbag, Gallery and Wallpapers on Aug-05-2009
That's part of the fun. Not only do quests have puzzles and things to fight, but you get to laugh at yourself along the way. :XD: Either that or I'm just insane. :-k Oh well, I'm happy.  OT: I like the looks of these hidden messages. A big thanks to all who helped solve everything.

The Ultimate Circus Points Guide
Woot!! The guide looks perfect!! Oh, and: It really wasn't all that big of a deal, though. I'm retiring from RS as soon as MechScape comes out and have been semi-retired since last spring when I sold everything of value that I had and bought 3 santas and 3 mask sets (my timing was perfect, btw). ;)

The trick is to be at the GE waiting for it to update and then get your offer in right after (ie within seconds, from what I understand) it updates.
